Well I think today is the 12th not completed certain though. Must need more coffee!!!!

Pearlrose my scale gets really out of whack with TOM pre TOM and post TOM. I just wish TOM would go away!!! LOL. Get some rest and hopefully your cold will go away before it fullly begins
Beth I am done with winter the first time my hands go numb. I’ve been done since December this year. Today we will reach 50 which is just so bizarre.
Morning Ruth and Debbie.

I had a great workout until I got this miserable pain in my right knee. Still swollen and sore with movement. I have a lot of issues with my knees since I was a teenager. Will see how it feels today. Not going to ignore it though as I can’t chance an injury between now and May. Beth, the cauliflower crust recipe I found is very similiar. If its good I’ll post it. I am combining a few things I like from different recipes.

Nothing terribly exciting planned here today. Had a nice day with Joe yesterday. LOL we took a nap. I told him yesterday I am never going to move in with him unless he takes care of his snoring!!! It is terrible!!!! One doctor told him he needs to get his tonsils out!!! Yesterday I threatened to take them out myself LOL. The last time he stayed overnight at my house, I slept in my son’s room LOL. Now that’s love

Have a great day!!! Looking forward to watching the Olympics later today.

Good morning chicks!

Yesterday turned out to be an impromptu drive and a BJs stop to restock the coffee and a few other things. Today I need to swing by the store and get some fresh veggies, then do the laundry I ignored yesterday.

Jennifer, you live an exciting life! lol Hope the knee feels better.

Pearlrose, a trip to a warmer place sounds great. Hope you have a good day.

Debbie, hope you have a good day at work!

Ruth, be careful on the roads today as I suspect you are getting the same sleet and snow we are.

Here's to an OP week, chicks!

Good morning,

Just finished my yoga and eating my breakfast. I managed a completely op day of eating yesterday whewhoo! Working on day 2. I feel much better now that I nursed my cold yesterday. I need to color my hair today and I think DH wants to go tubing (I am only going if DD2 wants to go and not sure she does).

Jekel I am done with winter too. I think today is the 11th lol. I don't think I could handle snoring I am too light of a sleeper.

Beth glad you have been able to get out and about. I spent yesterday cleaning and watching netflix with the Olympics on the tv.

Ruth be careful on the roads today.

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the warning re the roads. We made it to Church just fine but it was bad when we came out with rain and ice pellets that stuck to the windshield quickly. We were committed to be at a fundraising luncheon about ten miles away so struggled to get to that for noon. Made it there and back just now to discover the power was out. My propane generator was chugging away keeping us in stove heat, limited light and water. The tank is down a bit but I hope we can either have power back or a propane delivery early tomorrow. Gotta love country life - NOT! but only sometimes. (Bruce just came in and informed me there is a three inch coating of ice on his Honda - I won't repeat his exact words but they were not very clerical!)

Weight has dropped two pounds in three days so I must be doing something right. Too many extras were sneaking in as "snacks" and I've cut them out completely. We'll see how my new controlled eating works. I sure don't want t0 be packing an extra ten pounds when we drive to Florida.

Time for afternoon tea and then I may tackle some tax sorting. Sure isn't a problem filling in time these days!

Good morning,

I headed into work this morning, the roads were not icy at all but had to be careful walking out to my car my driveway was icy. 2 days of op eating and the scale has moved down... now on to day 3. Have lots of meetings today. We did not go tubing yesterday, yeah for that. Nothing on the agenda this evening.

Ruth I hope your power came back on yesterday. 3 inches of ice is a lot, I think we had about half an inch of ice on our cars.

Have a great day everyone!

Power came back on before dinnertime yesterday and Bruce admitted he'd exaggerated the amount of ice on the Honda. A half inch was more like it. My car is safe and warm in the barn. (Our barn is not a honkin' big one - just a two story fairly small one that was to hold a car and a buggy plus a horse and cow when Grandpa moved from the farm to the big village of Delta. It has a loft for storing hay - and was a magic place for grandkids to play many years ago. I've not been up there since my artificial knee doesn't handle the ladder there up very well.)

Delighted to drop another pound overnight. I'm sure most of the loss is waterweight. ( I had a trip and fall a few weeks ago - in the house, not on ice! - and the leg and foot have been quite swollen. Better now.) It also helps that I have been a Puritan about avoiding Bruce's goodies - currently he has three kinds of store-bought cookies, slabs of chocolate squares and big bags of chips stashed on high shelves.

Because the Church Hall is really iced in, there is no Monday morning coffee today. Whew! Dinner tonight is a simple chicken and rice casserole with a major salad. The weekend was way too "foodish" with a community noon dinner Friday, breakfast at the Church Saturday morning and a fundraising soup and sandwich (plus pie!) "lunch" at another Church yesterday which was required attendance for the Parson. I keep reminding him he is retired but ...

Nearly ten - need to crank up the week. Stay safe and warm and have a good day to start the week.

in the house vll

Pearlrose hope the ice melted quickly today. My nephew is in basic at Ft. Leonard Wood. Is that anywhere near you? Hope day 3 OP was a breeze

Ruth I get “fooded out” at the holidays. Seems like your foodie events never end. Glad your swelling has subsided.

My first attempt at cauliflower crust wasn’t too bad. I think next time I will cook it longer to get it a little crispier. Any way to sneak in veggies is a good thing. Nothing on the agenda. Going to ride indoors tonight while watching the Olympics. Enjoy your evening

Happy Monday, chicks.

Just stopping by to check on the news. We had sunny but cold today; it was much better than the dreary precipitation yesterday!

Nothing special today: work, exercise tape, dinner. But we have a President's Day break next week.

Ruth, we are having baked chicken with green beans tonight. Simple and SB. Glad you got the vehicles de-iced. I go through a fair amount of that spray during the winter.

Jennifer, I am also "fooded out". I am really looking forward to some clean eating. Enjoy your ride tonight.

Pearlrose, hope you had a good day at work.

Have a good evening, chicks.

Good morning!

Moving into the week and getting things accomplished. I didn’t get here yesterday. We headed down to the Mat and accomplished a big cleaning project. All my clothes went right into the washer when I got home. It was an area behind some washers that has open area to our office and I really wanted it cleaned up. We are doing the same this morning. Heading down soon to clean another area Which is underneath some drain pipes that is in the main area so we want to do that before people start coming in. The previous owner lived an hour away and he was not into cleaning so if the girl he hire didn’t do it it didn’t get done.

We had a little treat for lunch yesterday. My sister wanted to go over to the buffet at one of the casinos which is half price on Mondays. Pretty affordable and I didn’t over eat but chose not to do any dinner. Just watched the Olympics and went to bed early. Scale was down this morning so that was a good strategy.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Good morning from very icy Delta. Bruce salted the walkways and part of the lane yesterday but walking as far as the car was still tricky.

Today we're in the same situation but are delighted to be able to stay in the house instead of heading out to meet our financial adviser who cancelled because of a funeral. (We always meet her for breakfast - I swear nobody around here can go more than an hour without eating! ) I'm planning to spend the "free" morning sorting and organize my desk as tax season is looming.

The scale dropped three pounds overnight so now I know some of the big weight gain was water retention from my fall! I'm still being careful of what I eat. Tomorrow is the public school's seniors' Valentine breakfast which will be a bit of a challenge but always fun.

Pancakes? Anybody eating them tonight? I may do some for Bruce's dessert but will avoid them like the plague, Pancake Day or not!

Good morning,

WFH day for me but I do have several conference calls. Yesterday I let too mnay carbs slip back into my eating so trying again today, one day at a time. I need to either pack today or tomorrow since we leave Thursday as soon as DD2 gets out of school. I need a break from work, I figured out how to make certain contacts still get thru if you put phone on do not disturb so that way I will only get woke at night if it is someone important (family) or an issue at work.

Jekel Fort Leonard Wood is about 2 hours away from St. Louis, but the soldiers all fly in and out of St. Louis Airport.

Debbie sounds like you have some deep cleaning to do, I am sure it will sparkle after you are done. Good plan on not eating dinner those buffets really fill you up even if you don't over do it.

Ruth stay safe, glad you don't have to venture out into the ice. Glad the scale went down and it was only water retention. Pancakes sound delish but I will pass.

Beth do you get Friday off as well, DD2 does.

Have a great day everyone

Late check-in today as we are just back from the school breakfast. (Shhhh but it's starting to feel like Spring may come! ) We are finally above freezing and I can see the edge of the concrete path to the side door. Yesterday was a glare ice day but this morning we were able to go to the school Valentines Day breakfast without risking life and limb. Strange to think that just a year ago Bruce and I were just beginning our relationship and this year there are children there who call me great Grandma. (The breakfast at the school was our first real public appearance in 2017 and the gossip began.)

Tonight the Ross Clan are going out en mass for Valentine's dinner. Not sure what's up but it's kilts and formal dress for the men and fiddles and bagpipes are the order from Chief Bruce. I suspect they are planning some sort of initiation to the clan for me since I'm the newbie! Sure hope it goes well and I don't need to speak Gaelic or eat haggis. (Weight was down another pound this a.m. and I hope it stays down after tonight's meal.)

trying again....just lost my post

Today was another work day for me, followed by exercise and soon I will make dinner. It was sunny and above freezing so I am okay with it; the increasing daylight also makes me feel spring will come sometime! I bought myself some flowers from a fundraiser at school so I have those to cheer up the winter blahs as well.

Ruth, hope you have a great time tonight and are not obligated to eat anything too awful. I could not do haggis.

Pearlrose, we actually have the whole week off next week. I was never sure if our February break stemmed from an idea of preventing the flu from spreading, an effort to combat cabin fever or some administrator who wanted a vacation. lol Of course, we don't get out of school until late June so it all evens out.

Debbie, glad things are going well with both jobs.

Jennifer, hope you had a good day.

I am off to make dinner. Have a good evening, chicks.

Hi everyone

I'm new to the diet and liking it so far. Mostly because I know that phase 1 is for two weeks only and then many more food options are introduced. My books are coming next week; hence I rely on online information which extensively differs from website to website. Having said that, I would like to hear few words on my food diary, three days so far, from you and see if I'm getting it right.

MONDAY
16:15 LUNCH: 2 large eggs + Philadelphia light 1oz + 4-5 cups cooked and raw veggies + Pro-active light margarine 1oz
20:00 DINNER: canned Sardines 90g + Total yoghurt 2% 4oz + 4 cups cooked veggies + Olive oil 1TBSP + Mayo light 1TBSP + Green olives 15

TUESDAY
15:30 LUNCH: 3 large eggs + Philadelphia light 1oz + 2 cups raw veggies + Olive oil 1TBSP + Mayo light 1TBSP
17:30 SNACK: Low fat cottage cheese 200g
20:00 DINNER: canned Sardines 90g + Total yoghurt 2% 100g + 3 cups cooked veggies + Olive oil 1TBSP + Mayo light 1TBSP
00:30 SNACK: Low fat cottage cheese 225g

WEDNESDAY
precisely same as Tuesday.

Please let me know what you think? x
