Good evening chicks...welcome daath. Do you work overnights? Is that why you do not eat breakfast? I worked overnights for years so I can relate to the challenges the shift poses. Looking at your menu be careful with the sardines as they may be high in sodium. In the recipe section you can find some great ideas for simple tasty foods that freeze and travel well too. Reading the book will definitely help you to understand the SB way of life.
Hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine’s Day. No need to discuss my food choices yesterday lol.
Pearlrose when do you leave for your trip? Hope you have a great time.
Beth I like your reasoning for winter break lol.
Ruth I hope you are right spring is coming
Debbie hope you are settling in to your new routine.
As for me just the usual hectic week. Except for yesterday I have been eating clean and getting my workouts in. I just wish the weather would regulate itself. Today we hit 60 and Saturday we are getting 6” of snow. Oh well.

Good evening, Jennifer and chicks.
Nothing special today for me; it was a usual work day with a walk afterwards. I made a hair appointment for tomorrow since I am way overdue. It's late enough in the afternoon that I will fit a walk in between the appointment and work.
daath, welcome to us. I would second Jennifer's comment about reading the book; I also would encourage some beans (legumes) and making sure you are eating enough calories. Feel free to keep asking questions.
Ruth, I am excited that our driveway is almost free of ice although a little muddy. Nothing like a February thaw!
See everyone tomorrow.

Quiet in here! Today started out with red flashing lights in our lane at 3 a.m. Not a good way to wake up at all! A neighbour called emergency and gave our street number by mistake. Luckily we knew his name and got that straightened out quickly but it sure got us up nice and early. The first responders got straightened out by us and whisked him off to hospital. (Bruce checked out with the family just now and the guy is recovering from a minor heart attack.) Since we were already awake, we got dressed, made a grocery list and had an early start to Friday!
Shopping in town took up a good hunk of the day. Bruce's first wife was not a very fancy cook - not that I am - so there's always lots of discussion about the menu. Luckily, so far, even some of my so-called "fancy" dishes have met with major approval. Of course I buy too much all the times but I'm learning. We hit a bit of a snowstorm on the way home from town but it's already starting to melt. Today is Chinese New Year so I'll crank up the wok with some shrimp and veggies.
Daath, welcome to the group. Having you here is reminder to me (and maybe others) to review Phase I and II food lists, especially as I've gained back a few pounds in the past six months. My biggest problem is too many carbs, hard to avoid when your new husband is a retired clergyman who seems to book us in for a Church dinner somewhere almost weekly.
Time to crank up the wok and see if I can figure out cauliflower rice as a rice substitute.
Enjoy your Friday evening as we ease into the weekend.

Good (almost) evening, chicks!
Ruth, we had quite a mid-day snow flurry also but now it is clear, which is nice. I was pleasantly surprised that my car was fairly easy to clean off. As for cauliflower rice, I've been buying the frozen pre-riced variety; I found a recipe for fake fried rice which is pretty good.
My hair stylist was running behind when I arrived for my appointment so I re-scheduled for next week. I had already killed time after work running a few errands and taking a walk ( not to mention cleaning off my desk!) so I was ready to get home. Now I am on vacation!
Hope everyone had a good day. Pearlrose, enjoy your trip!

Good morning chicks.
Never got here yesterday and was in bed before 9, Beth you know how I like to live it up on Fridays LOL. We too got a thaw now tonight is another dump of snow followed by 50’s tomorrow. Im sure shoveling will be on tomorrow’s agenda or as I like to think of it strength training.
Beth I too am way overdue for a hair appointment. I am off next Friday to get appointments out of the way including my hair. Hope you have a great week off!!!!
Ruth Joe likes to eat BIG lol like a lumber jack (I imagine they have big appetites). It’s taken me awhile but I have learned to balance his eating with mine. Thankfully he eats everything except green olives LOL
Pearlrose have a great trip!!!
Debbie hope you are finding balance with your new business and life
Daath Beth had a great reminder about the beans.
Yesterday I was so incredibly happy I had a peeled hard boiled egg. I had to run out for a job that was pretty lengthy. On my ride home I devoured that egg and it was just as satisfying as candy LOL. I’ve been all over the map with my exercise this week but mostly on plan so not beating myself up over it. I am dropping my bike off for a tune up so that is incentive to start riding outdoors next month. Scale has been consistent this month and holding on to a small loss. Hoping to squeak out 1 more pound before month’s end.
Have a great day!!

Good morning, chicks!
We have a beautiful sunny day today, although a chilly 5*. I think I will bundle up and urge DH to take a walk this morning. Other than that I should putter around and do some cleaning. I think I will tackle a little each day since I have the week off. I also have laundry to do.
Food has been pretty good but I'm blaming hormones for holding onto weight right now. I am keeping up with my exercise so that is something.
Jennifer, your Friday night was as exciting as mine. lol Actually I also spent time on the phone with both boys too; it is always good to hear their news. Enjoy your day.
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning! Welcome Daath!
Still working on the new routine. I was only going to go to the laundromat and do the money thing, refill the quarter machine etc. but my helper girl called last night didn’t feel like cleaning so we cleaned as well. Now I just had time to say hello and get to work! Have a great day everyone!

Very cold here too, Beth, but supposed to warm a bit this week. We are just back from breakfast at the Hall. Delta's version of the MacMuffin and home fries are becoming an "in" breakfast in the area. Six people were there who had driven an hour up here from Kingston for the C$5.00 deal. (I turned down the fries and the cheese at the breakfast this morning to keep calories down a bit.) We still have the Monday morning coffee time as well which is mainly local folk plus any workmen doing jobs in the area - currently that's the crew who are making repairs to the dam.

Good morning!
I had a good day yesterday: my walk outside, a few chores and some book time. DH grilled steaks for dinner and did a few extra burgers and chicken sausages for today's meal, which is very nice.
Not sure what is on the agenda today. DH and I might go check out some of the winter clearance sales. Food has been ok but I want to stay focused and drop at least another pound before month's end.
Jennifer, did you get much snow?
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning I was here earlier but I couldn’t seem to post. I’m sure it was me and not the site LOL.
Beth we got a solid 7” even with using the snowblower I burned over 500 calories. Yup that is my workout for today. Hope you find some great sales today.
Ruth I can honestly say I have never had a Delta or a McDonald’s McMuffin. I only started eating eggs when I started SB. I guess if I have lived this long without either I should be ok.
Had a really nice day with Joe. We took a ride over the mountain to Tannersville its not far from Wyndham and Hunter. The town was hoping as it was the annual ice sculptor festival. Some were really good!!! I bought a small American Flag jewelry box at a loca shop with featured local artists. I will give it to DS one day. Thought it would be a nice place to store his medals and uniform insignias.
Today was shoveling. Supposed to go to the mall later with my friend Meredith. LOL I’m good if she wants to cancels, but I’ll leave it to her to decide. Otherwise its the usual get prepped for the week ahead. As Ruth says, do something nice for yourself. I think an at home mani / pedi is on the agenda for later too. I have the podiatrist at the end of the week. So its a good excuse to give my tootsies a little TLC.
Have a great day!!!

Good morning chicks!
Sipping my coffee and doing a little surfing before breakfast. (I love a day off!!) We didn't go shopping yesterday so pretty soon I will shower and get ready to go. I am sure we will have lunch out so I am already engaging my willpower so I will make good choices. I had a bit of a whoosh this morning so I am feeling motivated to stay OP.
Yesterday we had sunshine again so DH and I took a walk outside again. It gives me hope that spring will be coming! (right now I also have a tab open on my browser for my favorite garden site. I might be ordering a few seeds this morning.)
Have a great Monday everyone!

Good afternoon. I'll start another thread for the week and paste in Beth's if I can remember some of my MOD skills.
