Thanks all, for your feedback. I'm not much of a cooker anymore as I once was. I'm not yet sure if buying food online is my best option, though. Still deciding. I was on the SBD when I first discovered the book years ago. I know it always agreed with me.
Thanks again everyone! :) |
Good morning!
I'm not feeling too awake yet this morning. Still drinking my 1st cup of coffee. As of yesterday evening I was planning on going to Glenwood today. I may have changed my mind. Don't know yet. LOL for sure, I scheduled a massage appointment for 9 AM. I guess I'll get going in the house and see where I end up today. Rose, glad to hear first day of school went well. How is your shoulder doing? Jennifer, your story had me remembering I still have some quinoa in the refrigerator all cooked. I have cucumbers, too. I will remember not to throw them in the pot LOL Ruth and Beth, you have sure had during the summer. We were so dry in June and then July and August the rain started coming like crazy. I haven't had my sprinklers on for weeks. I'd better get going. It's barely 6 AM and it looks like the asphalt guys are lining up early. They are really trying to finish before it rains again. I sure hope so. Now my question is where to move my car. I think I see a spot just out of the barriers. This year has been interesting. People just walk around the street in their pajamas moving vehicles early. Or maybe it's just me. Ha ha Have a great Thursday everyone! |
Good morning,
It rained most of yesterday, we really needed it, everything was looking parched, it looks like fall around here with the leaves falling off the tree. Today is wfh mainly back to back conference calls all day. Nothing on the agenda tonight Debbie so glad that your construction project is almost finished. My arm is almost 100 percent better, PT agreed 2 more weeks of therapy and I should be good to go. She did grip strength and I went from 37 to 55 so that is good. Have a great day everyone! |
Rose, that is such great news about your shoulder!
|
Glad your PT was successful Pearlrose. I start mine tonight. This should be interesting lol. I am sure there will be a lot of stretching exercises in my future. I put my exercise ball, mat, bands and hand weights in the spare bedroom.
Debbie moving cars in PJs is a common occurrence in the 5 boroughs and some urban areas by me. "Alternate side of the street rules in effect" makes for an interesting show at times lol. Nothing new or exciting. Tonight I do need to book my hotel and rental car for next week. I am hoping to leave work by 1 on Friday to get on the road before the evening rush. Ruth I hope you enjoyed the cruise. Sounds like a lovely wedding gift. Beth glad you have a little time off befor the school year begins. |
Evening, chicks.
Ruth, the cruise sounds lovely. All summer I have been telling we need to do the cruise and tour of Singer Castle. Neither one of us has ever been although we have been to Boldt Castle several times. Jennifer, hope PT goes well! How's the vegetarian diet going? Are you staying with it longer? Debbie, what a relief to have the project almost done! I try not to go out in my PJs too often. lol Pearlrose, that is great news about your shoulder! We did our summer school exams yesterday and today. I have some grading tomorrow and then 10 days off before we start the official school year. Have a great evening, chicks. |
Good morning from damp and muggy Delta. The mosquitoes are voracious this morning - they sure had an early breakfast when i went out for the paper this a.m.
No idea what's on the the people menu today but it had better be light. The scale showed me the dreaded 180 this a.m. after yet another dinner away from home. As a wedding gift, friends took us to an Italian place in Gananoque which was way too tempting. I'll spare you the menu details but wine and tiramisu (sp?) was involved. I was even tempted to order South Beach delivery online this morning when I got a gift card in the mail. Time to get a grip. Just can't get my head around the back-to school stuff! Our schools don't open until September 5 but the shopping centres are packed with stressed parents and antsy kids shopping for stuff. So glad those days are gone forever for me. Soon I'll be sorting Fair schoolwork and prizes to be returned and that will end my involvement. The new Director is a school principal who retired in June and it'll be all hers after that with minimal involvement from me. The Parson has just finished his huge breakfast so the day begins. Hope your day is easy and that the weekend is shaping up as a fun one! |
Good morning!
Ruth, The thought went through my mind to order food for a while when things were so crazy and out-of-control a few months ago. Of course, I ultimately decided that I was better at this than they were. LOL. Back to planning meals, staying stocked up, and eating reasonable portions has brought me back to ticker. I slept in a bit and now I need to get moving if I'm going to get to the pool before the crowds arrive. I'm so glad I came over. I had a spectacular afternoon with my sister. Our Colorado based health food store was having their birthday celebration. Open since 1955. Robin suggested we should ride our bikes because of the horrible traffic situation. I said fine but I needed to put air in my tires. I also said I probably couldn't get up the hill. She said that's fine we could walk. Then I acknowledged that I could at least get to the hill. 20 minutes later we were off on our bikes and had a wonderful ride. After the festivities we decided to ride on to my girlfriends house. We did, and had a wonderful visit and about 8 miles total. It felt wonderful to be back on my bike, especially as we passed all the sitting cars in the afternoon commute. It's nice to know I still have a little bit of mojo there. Have a great day everyone! I'm off to the pool. Think I will do my water yoga today since I'm by myself. |
Good morning,
Just realized I was so busy this morning forgot to check in here. Eating op is working, headache is gone and energy is up and the scale is moving down still, helps that my DDs are both doing with me this time as well. Tonight DH and I are going with neighbors to Lady Antebellum concert, looking forward to it. Had to cancel my PT appt today since my manager booked another appt on top. Ruth I feel for you and the eating out, went through a few months this summer with the scale creeping up and some bad foods creeping back into my diet with the icing on top- the cruise food. So I will be joining you for trying to stay op Debbie sounds like you had a great day yesterday, I haven't been on a bike in years. Jekel hope your PT is as successful as mine. I think the ibuprofen helped as well Beth enjoy your time off before school starts again for you. Have a great day everyone! |
Good afternoon, chicks.
Finished up my grading today and now I am on break for a week. My weight is sort of stuck but at least I am not gaining right now! I will try to at least maintain until school starts and then I will be busy and at least away from the food most of the day! Debbie, water yoga sounds fun. Years ago I did water aerobics and really liked it. Ruth, your dinner sounds delicious but I know how frustrating it is to try to lose weight when those temptations are around. I know my original success at SB eating was due to NOT eating out and being in control of my food. Pearlrose, glad the scale is moving the right direction for you! Enjoy the concert tonight. DH will make burgers tonight but I need to figure out what to have with it. Veggies are all I need but he will want more. Have a good evening, chicks. |
