Another clear sunrise. Did you see the Super Moon last night? It was cold but the doggage and I sat on the back deck and watched it clear the trees and barn roof. It was so bright I could have gone behind the barn to dump the compost but didn't.
Today is doggie spa day and we have to find the new location which is at Jen's home rather than in the town of Westport. It's back roads so I need to fill up on gas before we depart. I am hoping it's about a 40 minute drive - one way. Not sure if I'll stay there or come home until the dogs are ready. I sure could use the time at home this week but ...
This afternoon I need to tackle the leaves in the barn! The doors were open last week for a windy day and all the newly fallen leaves blew in. And there I was thinking the fall cleanup was done.
Time to crank up a busy week! The Christmas stuff went into the planters yesterday and we are looking festive. I need to festive-up a bit. Putting away the Halloween stuff would be a start.
I got to see the super moon last night. Right as it came over the hill to the west and then again this morning. Beautiful!
I set my alarm for 4:30 and got up promptly. It's chores accomplished in my smoothie made. Now it's time to get dressed, grab my stuff, and find the car. We got another portion of our flower bed project finished yesterday. We ran out of dirt and energy. More nice weather in the forecast. It's hard to believe but the road crew is happy.
Ruth, that's a long drive one way but also a long time to wait. Especially with two pups.
OK I'd better get moving. Have a great Monday everyone!
I also saw the supermoon last night and again this morning when I put the trash out for pickup, it was a great view. We are supposed to have warmer weather in the afternoons for a few days, I will take it.
Luckily even though there was an event at work yesterday, I did not have to go in, my new role is more over making sure the process works rather than being in the process but I still offered my assistance if needed, I will handle the after meeting though. Today is wfh for me, DD2 is getting her bottom braces on this afternoon.
Ruth is there anything near by that you could do while your waiting? I had to get rid of two pumpkins as they were getting quite moldy and they were not even carved. I like to keep the pumpkins outside until after Thanksgiving.
Debbie well hopefully with all the nice weather the road crew will crank out the work quicker and you can get your street back.
Just a regular busy day at work today, which is fine. Predictable is ok with me.
Beautiful weather here as well; yesterday I did a little bit of puttering in the yard, stowing the watering cans, wind chimes and birdbath. I also pulled the last of the carrots. I haven't grown carrots for a few years so that was fun.
Jennifer, hope your wait wasn't too long and the ultrasound uneventful. How was the wind chime sale?
Ruth, what did you decide to do while the dogs were at the spa?
Pearlrose, glad you didn't have to go into work.
Debbie, glad the flower bed project is going well.
I saw the moon this weekend but will probably go out and look again tonight since it is going to be clear.
Good Tuesday/Choose Day morning. I don' have the chance to "choose" today as I have to drive to Kingston for a visit to my periodontist. Then I can choose to drive straight home pr go to the fabulous Chinese buffet there. Wish me luck. I have lots to do at home - the leaves are still in the barn but ...
By the way, came home from the doggie spa and had just a bit over an hour at home before I went back to pick up my sweeties who looked spiffy. Next time I'll make a shopping list since Westport has a great grocery store and drugstore plus a Home Hardware. I'm sure I can pass an hour or two there and maybe even read the newspaper and have a coffee!
Beth, I love predictable. Wish I had more of it. LOL
I'm enjoying my final coffee before heading off to work. It's quiet and warm outside. Snow predicted for Thursday then it gets nice again. I will take that. I have a massage after work still trying to get my body back in shape. Little by little.
WFH day for me today but have lots of conference calls and need to work on some reports. Nothing on the agenda this evening. DD2 mouth is sore now that she has a full set of braces on. We are in the 60's today and for the next couple of days and then it is back to colder weather on the weekend.
Ruth hope the periodontist is painless today for you, that reminds me I need to line up a pet sitter for a few days next week when we are gone to Atlanta.
Debbie hope the massage and rolfing is helping your back
Jekel not sure how long DD2 will need to keep braces on for, she has had her upper ones on for at least 8 months and now her lower ones, I think they said another year it depends on how her permanent teeth come in, we had to pull 4 more baby teeth so that her permanent ones could come in. I think she is now done with baby teeth. How was the chime sale?
Posting while waiting for my work car to get an oil change.
The wind chime sale was great!!! Bought gifts for 5 on my Christmas list. Treated myself to an ornament holder for my office. Their prices were great roughly half off retail!! They have another sale in May. I'll be going back again.
Good morning. I am in flannel jammies and a heavy robe this a.m. since that dumb Ruthie turned the furnace off instead of down. Sllly old woman! I do have a programmable thermostat and must dig out the manual and set it up properly. (Maybe make that an after-Christmas project?)
We have a rainy day after ten days of sunny above normal warmth. I don't mind rainy days usually and just hunker down in my nest but I am due at the Town Hall at ten to help set up the Christmas shop. We have an amazing stock of "giftables" such as candles, Christmas decor, etc., very few are used but donated for Christmas sales. Anything we sell is pure profit for the Mill. The past two years we have done well with people (here for the light displays at the Park) popping in to use the washrooms and warm up a bit. (William and his crew did a great job in setting up yesterday and he drove me through in the golf cart to see everything. I have never officially seen it since I'm usually working.) It's a huge event in the Village and happens every Saturday night until Christmas.
I'll be back to read later. Sleeping until 7 was great but puts me two hours behind.
I got up early and accomplished some indoor chores then went back to bed for a bit. I found a few minutes of quiet outside with the birds and dogs now all the construction crews are here in the machines are starting up. We are going to work in the yard today is it supposed to snow tomorrow. Looks like I may need to make two trips into Denver today. We shall see. Have a great day everyone!
Debbie hope you got a lot done before the snow arrives.
Ruth I bet the Mill looks great with the lights.
I've been making no excuses and getting my work outs in before work. Hoping the scale appreciates my commitment lol I even managed to get a load of wash in this morning before I left. I think some of Debbie's energy snuck into my life....thank you
Since today is Wednesday it is my later day at school since the robotics kids usually work for about 2 hours. I was glad I had leftover stew from the weekend waiting for me to come home to. No workout today but I will make it a priority tomorrow and Friday looks to be sunny so I may try to do something outside.
Jennifer, good job on exercising before work! Does your new job require you to be on your feet much?
Ruth, I got up to use the bathroom at 4 am and I swear I was just finally falling asleep when the alarm went off. How nice to have a tour of the town!
Debbie, I know it is that time of year but I am okay with the snow holding off a bit more. It makes life so much easier!
Pearlrose, did the site visits go well?
I think I'll make a decaf coffee and have some SF pudding tonight.
Another day in the office so getting ready to leave, we do have a baby shower today at work for one of our guys so pretty sure we get to meet his baby today so should be fun! Today is the last of day of warm weather we are getting into the 70's today just in time to shock our systems with a high of only 40 on Saturday lol.
