Default The Weekend - September 10th and 11th

Good morning from my cold house. The AC turned on and ran during the night so it must have been steamy. Right now we are in fog with a hot afternoon, t-storms and a tornado warning in effect. Sheesh!

So glad not to have the bread run this morning although we have one tour booked for this afternoon. There is a motorcycle rally in the Park - not Hells Angels but a group of retired folk with vintage machines. They started their club years ago and are called The Old *******s since they met at the diner here. (This used to be B@st@rd Township, named after a British Earl. We are now The Township of Rideau Lakes!)

We are out of flour once again so Chris will be grinding this afternoon. Our demand doubled this year and we are hard-pressed to fill all the orders. Organic Heritage Red Fife flour sure seems to have caught on! Chris has just bought his third farm and will grow even more wheat next season.

So what are your plans for this first "normal" weekend and the remains of summer?

Good morning, Ruth and chicks to follow!

Slept in a bit this morning, then goofed around on the internet, reading local news and such. Now I'm up and have the washer going while I sip coffee. We are slated for afternoon storms so my plan is to hang out some laundry early then get in a walk before lunch. Then I can do inside cleaning and paperwork when the rain hits.

Ruth, glad you made it through the summer! Are you in charge of the afternoon tour?

Jennifer, it's exciting you are going to meet Tammy! Hope the walk/run goes well today and isn't too hot.

Pearlrose, are you going to the parade?

Debbie, road construction is such a necessary inconvenience!!! A couple of years ago there was a major project on the route DH takes to work. He had to add extra time to his commute every morning.

Time to get a move on. Happy Saturday!

Good morning,

I slept in this morning must have been the rain, it rained all day yesterday, I sure hope it clears up for today or the town festival is going to be a flop. Plans are to run errands this morning and then go to parade and maybe the festival for a bit with DD2.

Ruth glad your bread runs are done for the year. I thought the recycling guys forgot me yesterday but forgot they are running a day late.

Beth there is always construction going on which is why I prefer to wfh

Jekel DD1 still does not know date has to wait for a code before she can pick a date but she already paid for the code to retest. DD2 is still going strong with fitbit she won the first week and doing good. How exciting to get to meet Tammy at the end of the month.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello! I just noticed I never got here this morning and my thought was is it really still Saturday. LOL I go back to work tomorrow.

So I'm definitely in high gear since this road project is happening. I have a long bed of hollyhocks and Iris on the front sidewalk that will be demolished after the freeze. I've got two things going on. One I am taking out some old crappy weedy soil and dumping it in the street, then I am also cleaning out some beds to make room for transplanting Iris up into the yard. Of course, it was time to mow the lawn as well. Now I'm generally resting and doing nothing. I've got six bags of compost out by the street but I don't really care. I also have a car full of groceries don't care about that right now, either. Nothing perishable. It will wait until tomorrow. I did get the tires fixed on my handtruck. I don't know when the road is going to close just know it will be soon.

Wow Debbie you are extremely motivated!!! Glad you can get rid of your weedy soil during the road project. I too will leave groceries in the car at times. Growing up my grandma used to leave soda, cider etc. in the car during colder weather before a holiday as there was no room in the fridge to keep them cold.

Ruth Tornado warnings in Canada???? I didn't know that was even possible.

Pearlrose did you make it to the parade and festival?

Beth hope you find some time to relax this weekend.

It's a dreary day here. I do hope the rain holds our for the 9/11 services. I will go to Joe's later today as I would like to watch the services. Otherwise it is just the same old routine here, plus squats lol (110 today). My legs must be getting a little stronger as they are not too sore. Time to get motivated.

Drat! Lost my post and need to get ready for Church so ... survived the tornado watch, no damage but lots of rain. I was up the Hill at Liz's place and it was like driving up a waterfall to get there. I did bring in the lawn chairs and hanging plants but everything looks fine today.

Odds and sods on today's to do list and I'm looking forward to a relatively easy week - except for one day devoted to repainting a Fall Festival Sign. We'll see how the week works out!

Good morning,

Woke up to a sunny day today, we are going to baptism this afternoon of a couple of DD2 friends. DH is performing at the lake. I did not make it to the parade or to the festival, DD2 went with a friend and her family and I did not feel like tagging along. DH went to to Toby Keith concert again didn't want to go so I stayed home and enjoyed the company of my pets and watched some shows on netflix, it was a nice quiet evening.

Debbie wow you have a lot on your plate, hopefully work will go by quickly for you today

Ruth glad there were no tornadoes for you yesterday it finally stopped raining mid day here.

Jekel that is awesome that you are up to 110 squats that will definitely build leg strength, I just did yoga today, my back is kind of tight, not out of wack, so am doing stretching and brought out inversion table and it seems to be working, I think it might have something to do with the core yoga I did the other day, lets just say my abs were very sore, need to start doing it more often and then my body will get used to.

Have a great day everyone!

Church was cancelled because of a power outage which means no lights, no washrooms or lift for old folks to get up the steps. So I have a sort of bonus morning. I sure don't need to water the garden since we got 3.5 inches of rain yesterday according to my rain gauge. The farmers are smiling!

Hey everybody, sorry I didn't make it here earlier today. The weekend has been a good mix of productivity (workout, groceries, laundry, cleaning...) and finishing a book I was reading. We had a big thunderstorm overnight but no damage.

I'm prepped and planned food wise for the work week; always a good feeling.

Have a good evening, chicks!
