Default Portable-Packable SBD

DH and I are going to the Zoo and we want to bring our own food. The food there is high in carbs and also expensive.

I need ideas for foods we can pack in a cooler for the day.

Can anyone help?

Lettuce leaves wrapped around ham w/some mustard or wrapped around sliced turkey, tomato slices and a spoon of coleslaw (watch the sugar content on the slaw), sliced veggies (peppers & cukes) with some hummus to dip, salad in a plastic container w/dressing on the side, V-8 juice, left-over grilled chicken breasts....

Any other ideas for portable SBD fare?

Great ideas so far! How about cheese crisps and salsa (one of my favorite snacks!). If I remember correctly, you are still on phase 1? That makes it a little harder, but I'll keep thinking.....
