Been awake since 3:30 and up since 4! I hate "white nights" and may have to go back to taking a little blue pill at bedtime. The brain would just not let go of reworking an accounting problem.
Yesterday was very humid but we had a doozy of a t-storm around suppertime and the garden got an excellent soaking. This has been another summer of not having to water the lawn. I did get my spent bean plants pulled mid-afternoon and was going to water the raised bed after supper but the storm saved me the trouble.
Jazz goes to the groomer this morning for 9 and I will do some running around while he is being beautfied. (Is that a word?) The bank run will be on the agenda since I didn't want to leave silly Angus alone with my two yesterday morning. He is still a puppy although nearly a year old and could be a bad influence on my two angels.
This afternoon I plan to pickle or freeze the final bean harvest. Around five today the Wednesday Wino Women will meet for a glass of wine and a kidless chat. (I guess we should be called the Tuesday Tipplers since we've changed the day!) I hope things dry off a bit outside by then as we like to sit on the deck and watch the dogs plan in the dogyard. (Another hunk of summer to celebrate.)
I hope you find time for a little nap today, Ruth. I hate it when my brain won't shut off for the night.
We had rain showers off and on all day yesterday, and it looks like today is more of the same. The girls had done most of their unpacking and started the laundry, so there wasn't too much to do, and I even managed to fit in a much needed hairdresser appointment after work. The girls are supposed to be in a horse show this morning, but I'm not sure if the rain will affect that or not. Then this afternoon, Maggie starts piano lessons with a new teacher and I have to remember to get directions to their house.
I should load the dehydrator with a batch of tomatoes when I get home. We cut it down to only 2 plants this year, but they're producing like crazy! I'm getting lots of red and yellow peppers, too. But the cucumber and zucchini vines have died out, sadly. I'll miss the zucchini, as I can never have enough of them!
Well, I'd better go find some breakfast. Nothing sounds good this morning.
It's my early day at work and we are already to head out the door. I think Kirby gets a bath today. I hope so. Lol. Definitely not much exciting going on here. I guess Denver and Colorado Springs had some horrible rains and flooding yesterday. We got a couple of drops and that was about it. Looks to be a nice day again today.
Ruth, lucky me slept until 5 this AM! It's been 4 lately, so I was quite grateful for the extra hour. Enjoy your evening with the ladies tonight, at first I read it as Tuesday Topless...even more interesting, eh?!
Linda, I have a batch of homemade granola that is absolutely delish, would you care for some? Glad the girls had their laundry already started.
Today should be a slow day - DD is having a friend over, thank goodness so I don't have to hear "I'm just a litttttle bored" today! DS is...being a 12 year old, so he'll probably just hide in his room all day.
Morning, chicks.
We have all rain today so I have my list of inside chores: cleaning, paperwork, download some software on my new computer, groceries. I find inside stuff can get pushed aside when it is ice outside.
Ruth, I second the idea of a nap! I must say that not watering the garden this summer is nice. Have a good time tonight.
Cottage, it's nice the girls had started the laundry. Sorry about your zucchini; mine was slow to start but looks good right now.
Debbie, may your work day go smoothly!
Tammy, I remember those days with my kids; "I'm boooo-reed". "Good, go back to school!"
No rain for us today and it is supposed to be only 85 degrees and less humid so looking forward to that.
WFH for the rest of the week for me, catch up on reports I need to run. Doing a mountain of laundry and then DD2 has soccer practice this evening.
Ruth I hate when my brain will not shut off at night. Hope you get a nap in before this evening
Cottage glad that the girls started some of the work for you. Have a good day
Debbie hope works goes by quickly for you today.
Tywnn DD2 is saying she is bored but I told her this is your last week of vacation better enjoy sleeping in, I am going to have to start waking her up earlier and earlier each day to get her ready
Beth enjoy your inside day and hope you get everything done.
Wow, several of you are awake really early. I hope you go to bed early, too.
Sure understand the brain keeping us awake. I'm trying something different this month that has really helped me. If DH is asleep, I turn off TV at 10:00, and if not I leave that room for quiet living room. In dark, night prayers are my way of really letting go of the day and lead to relaxing sleep. Strange that I'd changed that and forgot how it helps me.
DD#2 is off to potter class and Library. I'm heading to gym.
We received TWO inches of good rain yesterday. The air is humid but far cooler. Beth if you get the rain that hit here south of you yesterday, you won't have to water the garden for a week!
As I hear about mothers and daughters, I remember life here with the 3 of ours and the blessing of a son. I still "don't dare tell them what to do!" I've learned finally to simply shut up and let them find out for themselves that sometimes Mothers have wisdom. (hopefully)
I sounds like a broken record, apologizing for not checking in daily huh? I am still on the beach (somewhere around 45 pounds down since January) and needing to hop on the exercise wagon! I just can't seem to! Been making smart choices food wise but am at a stall. We go on our cruise in 10 days and I won't be going overboard or anything but need to get my steps up. Started my new job last Monday (first week under my belt!) and now that I am commuting less, I will need to ramp up efforts and start going in the afternoon. The 220's are sooo close and I hope to make it there in time for my brother's wedding in October, 2 months from today.
Late groggy check in today. Was up early and at the dentist for 7:30. Ruth my brain wouldn't shut off. I needed 2 doses of the "relaxing" meds and lots of nitrous. I was well aware of my surroundings and towards the end ask for a break. All the major stuff is done. When my crowns are ready that shouldn't be too invasive. It is odd not seeing my old fillings. I did nag age a wonderful nap when I got home. DS had to let me lean on him walking.
Tomorrow I go back to work and have no intentions on going in early either. Baby steps lol.
