Time to wake up, Chicklets!

I enjoyed a delightful day off yesterday. There's something really special about having a Monday off, especially when it's not a holiday and most everyone else is at work. Now I'm going to have to remember that today is Tuesday, not Monday!

It's looking like April showers are greeting us this morning. Thank goodness yesterday's weather was perfect!

Good morning, Cottage and chicks to come!

Our showers moved through overnight and we are waking to sun this morning. The storms washed away some of the winter grit and it should be a beautiful day.

Cottage, glad you enjoyed your day off. Even if you love your job it is always nice to have a day away from it to "do your own thing."

This is just another Tuesday for me; nothing special on the agenda except I will try to get outside this afternoon for a bit.

Have a great day!

Good morning, Linda. Sorry you are getting showers but, if it's any consolation, we had them overnight and today is dawning clear and gorgeous.

The yard is still flooded but I keep telling myself that it's going down. It is definitely muddy paw season - for Millie it's muddy leg and tummy season since she goes right into the mess instead of skirting it as Jazz does. So much for her $60 grooming last weekend!

I didn't get to grill last night but used the broiler instead. My BBQ needs a slight fix before I turn it on and I'm not quite sure about the propane valve - can't read the OFF and ON labels. Paul may be around later today to take a look at it.

This morning I have to cram for a Mill tour at noon. There are exchange students here from rural Saskatchewan, aka The Breadbox of Canada, and I will be guide for their tour. I'm OK on the architecture of the Mill but a little weak on types of grain and some of the milling steps. Let's hope they're all glued to their cell phones. At least I don't have to fake it in French this time!

I am going to slosh out to the raised bed today to see if it's in good shape to plant some snow peas. It's definitely a rubber boot kind of day. Although parts of the field look dry and grassy, you sink down into the muck when you step on it. There's lots of planting time left though - peas like cold soil but the usual seeding time around here is May 10. I may be jumping the gun. Maybe I'll plant them in a flowerbox instead.

Time for my second coffee and then I'll jump into some clothes and tackle the day. My Mother always got dressed BEFORE coffee - I don't know how she did it. Maybe that's why she was always sort of crabby at breakfast.

Wishing you sunshine and flowers.

Beth, getting outside IS special. The work crews swept our roads in the Village yesterday so the rain was welcome here.

Getting dressed before coffee? You'd think that was against the law, or at least human ability

Ruth, Sounds like you have a busy day as always! Darned those groomers are expensive!

Beth - enjoy your day!

Linda - glad you enjoyed your day off Yesterday was perfect, wasn't it?

Today is my day off - I have a bunch of errands/niggles to do, and meeting a friend for a birthday lunch (hers was yesterday, mine is this Sunday). We're going to that soup bar, it's our drug...Er, I mean, restaurant...of choice! DH just left for the funeral in NC, so I'll be solo the rest of the week. That should make things more interesting.

Have a great day! Everything is turning GREEN here!! Spring really did return, thank goodness...

Good morning

Linda. Your Monday sounds beautiful. Hope the rest of the working week is easy.

Ruth. Definitely have the bbq looked at before you fire up. I'm sure you will charm those exchange students.

Tammy have a nice day off. Hope you find time to relax.

Beth. Hope you get outside for a bit.

coffee, knit, shower are my priorities in the morning. Busy weekend and week to come but will make time to go for a walk(with walking sticks) at the zoo. Son's birthday celebration on Friday as he is busy this weekend.
Take care
Sophie

Good morning.

I've been working the last couple of days; unexpectedly on Sunday. Today I have NOTHING! DH and I might try to get in a bike ride since rain is forecast as possible for the rest of the week. He's still recovering from his cold so I'll see how he feels once he gets his lazy bones out of bed. Knock all over wood that I haven't gotten sick yet, between him and my coworker who I worked with the past two days.

BTW - I'll probably not get dressed until after LUNCH!

Have a great one.
