  • Coconut flavouring... yum, yum!!

I love the necklace/bracelet idea, too!

I guess my big deal will be to buy myself a new pair of jeans. I buy most of my stuff second hand (bar underwear and socks ), but I DO like to have a good pair of jeans.
And once we've got our apartment rented and I have a little extra income, maybe I'll take a hundred bucks to the Sally Anne and go wild.

Bobo, what's a purse party?! And a lens... you're a photographer? Years ago I took a photography class and LOVED it! A dark-room would be divine...

Brady, I like your idea of getting some clothes altered. I was thinking of going to a tailor and having a few of my favourites reproduced. Although I should really just sit down at my sewing machine and do it myself...
  • When I get to goal, I am going to go to Ottawa and spend big bucks on clothes. I may even take my sister along as she has a superb fashion sense and will be very honest with me.

When I get to 189, I am going to cut into a length of turquoise heavy silk and make a fabulous shirt! (I paid $200 for that silk and it's been sitting there for about 6 years.) I guess I didn't think I was worth it then but I do now!
  • I love the 10# idea!

I have lost 8pds so far and thought I would treat myself to a new hairstyle

Ultimately when all the weight comes off I want a breast reduction!
  • Ellis, I'm not really a photographer, just a wanna be!! I LOVE it, but I'm really just learning. I dont' have a studio or anything. I just kind of do it as a hobby. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of NONE!!!! A purse party is just where I take all my little handmade bags and show them as samples, and I take tons of fabric and let the people pick out their coordinating fabrics, lining, trim, and then I put it together!!! Handmade bags are the in thing around here-with all kinds of beads, fringe, or whatever!! The wilder the better!!! My company is called "Not Just Bags" and I do purses, embroidery, towel wraps with monogramming or embroidered designs, some jewelry, smocked dresses, and sew kids' clothes!! Just whatever!!!! I hope that's not considered advertising!! Just telling you a little about myself! I have a teaching degree and taught for 7 years, but I'm staying home with my little one right now, so I gotta feel like I'm contributing a little, and this way I can do it and still be with her!!!!!1
  • Karen, I had a breast reduction back in '86 and it was the best thing I ever did. I was a 36EEE! Went down to a C, after gaining weight I'm up to a 42DD,not bad. It'll come back off.

I read a WW article about a woman who lost alot of weigh and what she did to reward herself was purchased an expensive watch. Every time she is tempted to eat something bad she looks at her watch and tells herself she doesn't have the TIME to take the #'s off again. I like that idea, I'm going to do the same.

    Barb
  • Karen... great idea getting a breast reduction! I have a few friends who've had it done, and it makes so much sense! I'm very small in the chest and used to regret it, but now I'm VERY happy with my size.

Barb, you WILL get down in size again!
The watch idea is great! If only I weren't so clumsey... I suppose I could get one of those "mountain climbing/sky diving/deep sea diving" watches. Indestructible.

Kim, I really envy you your hobby! I'm going to get a digital camera sometime this year, but it just doesn't interest me the way the "older cameras" do. It was such a thrill deveoping my own photos. And I LOVE black and white photography...
And what a cool business you've got!
I did something similar about 12 years ago. I decided (to my surprise) that I was going to stay at home with our children, and I started a soap-making and natural bath/body product business. I did a lot of craft shows, etc, and at one point joined a group of people in a co-op and had a store for a year. It was a hoot. But it's not a HUGE money-maker, and I dropped it about 5 years ago.
Also, when I first started, I was one of only a few making soap, etc. Within about 3 years of starting my business, it seemed like EVERYONE was doing it! I like to be "different", and it was very annoying.

Ruth, if you'd wait until you get down to 169, you could make ME a shirt out of that fabric, too!
  • Sorry Girls, but I'm keeping my husband, but a little competition could be fun!

Don't ya wish you could just give some of your breast size to small breasted women or give some fat to these frail little ladies who need to put on weight? "Here Sweetie have 20# of mine" Life would be soo good, enjoy the weekend!
  • HEY!! I'd even give it to my hubby!!! He has problems keeping the weight ON, and would lose it in no time!!!!
  • Hi all, I am new around here, today is day one, phase 1, but it's never to early to think about a reward. New clothes. I so want to change my image, maybe some cute printed capri pants, or something other than tee shirts and jeans...
