Default Tailgating?

Hello All!
I'm back on the Beach after a too-long break. Of course I start back right when tailgating for Saturday football begins!
So my question is, what do you do try to stay on plan while attending an event like that? Any good recipe suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm not a tailgater myself, so can you give me some ideas of what you would bring if you were not tailgating? Then maybe I can think of some subs.

Welcome back, wonderlin!

Here are some of my favorite ideas for Phase 1 picnic-ing -

cheese and deli meat wrapped around a celery stick
hummus with veggies
baby peppers stuffed with Laughing Cow or a cheese stick
cheese and deli meat with a spoonful of coleslaw, wrapped up in a lettuce leaf
roasted chickpeas and peanuts, sprinkled with a dash of siracha
Phase 1 beany brownies

What Cottage said plus
the old stand by roll-ups (deli meat around a strip of pepper/onion/cucumber), maybe some ranch for dipping.
dill pickles
Celery with PB
string cheese
turkey pepperoni

Plus, check the recipe section to see if anything there strikes your fancy!

ETA- depending on the situation, if you are grilling you could also bring veggie/low-fat burgers, chicken or turkey sausage (read the label carefully), or marinated portabellas

I am not on SBD but dieting a tailgate would be easy.

I would drink a lot of beer.

And throw a ton of fish and seafood on the grill.

You may not lose weight that day, but you won't gain either.

There are some really good recipes around here to help. You can make buffalo chicken dip using Neufchatel cheese, but I'd be careful about portion control. Tailgating, for me, is always about the grilling. Google "crazy chicken marinade" and follow the link to allrecipes. It's a chili lime marinade and makes for FABULOUS chicken that is good all on it's own or tossed into a salad with feta, purple onions, and a vinaigrette dressing.

Thanks for the input!
we don't grill at our tailgate (we're fairly low-key.)
I totally forgot about the various dip recipes- I'll have to check them out.
I didn't take anything special with me this time and just really watched my portions and with the exception of a cupcake my mom got from my favorite bakery to celebrate my dad's birthday, I didn't have anything really "bad." (Thankfully the cupcake did not trigger any cravings.)
