Default Wednesday, July 2 - not really a Hump Day!

Good morning. I need to keep reminding myself it's the middle of the week. Canada Day "weekend" started Friday night and was four days long. With July 4th day after tomorrow, this month is off to a running start.

The fireworks on the Lake were spectacular last night and it did not rain although Ottawa was drenched. We sat on the deck of a large boat (a yacht? but it sounds so pretentious!) and sipped champagne and nibbled canapes. It was a tad more elegant than beer and chips but a little stuffy.

Today I pick up Fair entries from the last two schools and will have them taken upstairs in the Fair Hall for sorting and organizing for judging. I think the sorting will happen on a cooler day than today since we will be humid and 90ºF. I do have a helper - Carolyn is working for the summer at the Fair and I've known her since she was born.

So now it's time for a strawberry smoothie and then I'll batten down the hatches to keep the house coolish for the day.

How are things on your stretch of The Beach? What's a-happening for the Fourth of July?

Good morning!

Hi Ruth! Point your evening sounded lovely. Glad you got to enjoy the fireworks without rain.

I'm just doing the quick check in before we go pick up mom and head over the hill.
Unsure at this point how long we're going to stay because part of it depends on if our raspberries are right over there. Being doesn't like the fireworks at either place so will just see what happens. The one thing I know is that I don't have to work which is great.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Ruth! Glad you enjoyed the show. We have a fantastic fireworks show in our town, and decided to have a few friends over.

I got lots done yesterday on my day off, and back to work today. I'm grateful I premade meals, so they are good to go. I have to remember to make goodies for a meeting tomorrow - and then RESIST! There is one tech that is super good about not eating bad foods. I will stand by her for good vibes .

Just heard the heat index is going to make it feel like 102* here today. Hmmmm, do I want to be boiled in the pool this afternoon, or stay inside in the AC?

I'm leaving the house earlier this morning since both girls have ortho appointments at 8:30. Then they have a riding clinic, and I'll use that time to get more baking done for the sale on Saturday.

We could get heavy rain from Arthur on Friday so we scheduled our 4th of July BBQ for Saturday.

Good morning, chicks!
Hot and humid again today. I will work outside for a bit right after my smoothie and then hide inside with the AC. (But I am NOT complaining-- we waited too long for the snow to go away)

Ruth, sounds like a lovely evening. Hope your art collection chore goes smoothly.
Have a good trip, Debbie.
Tammy, we spent 3 nights eating stuff DH grilled on Sunday but tonight I actually have to cook. I will have to figure out something that goes on the stovetop so I don't have to turn on the oven.
Cottage, I'd go with AC over being boiled!!

Ok, time to check the laundry and make my smoothie. Have a great day!

Good morning.

I see the hip arthroscopic specialist this morning. I have long list of questions and am bringing DH to make sure I ask what I need to ask and remember the answers. Then I head into work. BTW - one of my questions is whether standing for my job would be a contributing factor!

Have a great day.

Good morning I actually have all the downstairs windows open as there is a wonderful breeze. Like everyone else it will be an AC day here too.

Ruth sounds like you had fun

Debbie hope your raspberries are ripe and enjoy your time off

Tammy I partner with a healthy choice eater as not to be tempted at work

Linda sorry your kale smoothie was a failure lol

Beth I am grilling today for the next few days meals. Salads will fill in the gaps

Karen good luck today.

Follow up with the ortho was no big deal. He is going to petition my insurance company to cover synthroid injections (havolic acid) to hel give my knee some cushioning. Work was HOT and SWEATY. I jumped in the shower when I got home at 1:30 as I felt gross. Today I am going for a ride before it gets too hot. Joe is and DS's GF are coming for dinner. Otherwise just prepping for my work week.

Hope everyone stays cool

ah menopause brain, I really thought I posted this morning. So it's my last work day this week and I am counting down to wine time. Meanwhile Tim decided today was a great day to tear the back porch off. We are turning it into an cool room for winter storage. Right now it's an enclosed but quickly built porch. Of course the rain came out of nowhere just as he got the roof off. Oops. I stopped home to bring him lunch. Looks like he might need some assistance.
