I really try to double check before I start the thread....I really don't know what day it is anymore.Lol.
I went to bed early hoping to wake up refreshed and ready to go. Mission accomplished. I continue to make lists and try to get everything in order before it turns into a deadline. I thought I'd get us started then my mission for the morning is to locate receipts so I can take all my project returns to HDepot this morning. They are cluttering my space. Supposedly you don't need the receipts but after a particularly messy episode returning a microwave (which I did have the receipt for) I think I'd fare better with receipts in hand.
It's shaping up to be a beautiful day here. I'm hoping to get some yard work in along the way today.
What's happening in your neck of the woods? Stop and say hello!
The big news around here is that there were tornadoes in Southern Ontario. Luckily we just got the rain but some areas were hit hard. I have a few friends in that area and am waiting to hear how they were affected. I'm counting on F. who facebooks everything including minor details - do I really want to know that her dog threw up?
Had a most frustrating day yesterday - problems with grant applications, the usual stuff with (not) Simply Accounting, and a difficult conversation with my young neighbours who left their dog outside all day to bark and howl. I'm really hoping the house sells soon as these folks are just renting on a month to month basis. Aside from the dog problem, they are usually fine. We'll see if they are still speaking to me today. I also had another "help" call from Anna who had a family of skunks in her yard. On Monday I had to rescue her from a stray dog that had adopted her.
Needless to say, no bamboo got cut down!
Today may or may not be better. I have pet therapy to look forward to after lunch and will just have to suck up the other stuff and carry on as the Brits say. (They also said "Lie back and think of England" but never mind!)
LOL, Ruth...you have a crazy life. I think I stick with my full time job, at least I get a paycheck!
Debbie, good luck at home depot today.
Jekel - Overnight oats is 1/3 c of: plain yogurt, milk, and oats. Mix whatever else and sit in fridge overnight (I find 2 hours is *okay*). I add blueberries, stevia, and cinnamon the night before, and pecans in the AM. I really like it cold, but cottage likes it warm .
Yesterday was a great meeting with the boss...the technician said she was buying me a wonder woman outfit, the let us get a bunch of stuff they've been wanting (that the practice manager will fight them on).
Today will be very busy, since I'll be by myself. I do need to get moving, to make mexican crock pot for supper. Of course, salad sounds better in this 88 degree heat!
Good morning from the wet north! We had huge t-storms and downpours again last night. I'm thinking it is shaping up to be one of those summers. I am not complaining, mind you. Rain does not have to be shoveled and I got a kick out of the ducks swimming in a large puddle out back this morning.
Debbie, good luck on those returns. Sometimes it is easy-peasey and sometimes a pain in the
Ruth, where were the tornadoes?
Tammy, I'm going with taco salad tonight. Mexican always seems to fit warm weather.
Thanks to Cottage! Dealing with spammers must be a pain.
Ok, time to pack up and go. Today is mass-grading day. Joy, oh joy.
Thanks for the info Tammy. Next question, regular oats or steel oats?
Ruth I have a neighbor who walks their dog on everyone's lawn. They never pick up after the dog (she is a wee little thing) but it drives my guys nuts picking up her scent.
Debbie thanks for starting us off. Good luck with the returns.
Another hot day in store. Doesn't feel too humid yet and there is a lovely breeze. I accomplished cleaning up the garage, weeding, making my pile for bulk pick up Friday and a little study time too. Today I am riding, going grocery shopping and more studying.
Beth it was mostly to the west and north of Toronto - Georgian Bay area. The bad stuff stopped just before Kingston so we just had rain. We did have a tornado in Athens a few years ago - mega damage. Sad to see 200 year old maples completely uprooted - especially if they landed on a car you'd had for two days!
Jennifer, the poop problem is easily solved by collecting a few deposits and putting them in the doorstep! A few years ago a neighbour had a big dog and ignored warnings. One enterprising villager made signs - "Norm's Dog Did This!" and posted them around town - problem solved.
My neighbours just left for work and their dog is NOT tied outside. Whew because rain is going to happen.
But first I head out for fasting blood work. I saw my doctor yesterday about my aching hips and she had x-rays done, ordered the labs, and will refer me to a hip specialist based on the findings. I'm going to stop taking my statin for a bit to be sure that isn't causing the aches even though she doubts that it is the cause. She did tell me that I need to take Aleve continuously for 10 days to see if it helps. I had always thought you are supposed to take stuff like that as infrequently as possible. She also did the referral I need to go back to PT for my pinched nerve that has been acting up again. I felt like such a hypochondriac in her office! And, ironically, my aches were sooooo much better yesterday and today.
Debbie. Enjoy your bittersweet moment in Key West. I can see your brother enjoys hot weather as oppose to you
Ruth. We didn't get the tornado but around 6 it turned extremely dark and windy. Its picked up and turned patio furniture and overturned heavy plants. Some areas around here are still without power. Yesterday afternoon 4 golfers got hit by lightening about 10 minutes from here
Twynn. Nice to see your are happy with your new job
Cottage. Have a nice day
Jen. What a productive day
Beth. Your right about the rain
Karen. Hope you feel better soon
me so frustrated. My dr cancelled on me again. She is not well and I have had 3 cancellations in a row. Its just not something I can go to a walk in clinic about and does require emergency. Going to love me some grandsons. Back on Tuesday
take care
