Default Last Thursday Chat for May - The 29th

Yesterday I must have had a brain fart although it sure felt cold enough to be January! I ended up working inside because it was just miserable out there so the planting is still not done. It just HAS to happen today!

The most exciting thing on the schedule for today is trash pick-up and I'm sure hoping it stays that way. It's a tad chilly at 55ºF but going to 70 - perfect temperature for outside work. I am going to turn off the ringer on the phone and try for a "me" day, not loafing but doing the things I want to do.

What's ahead for your Thursday May 29? Coffee first, of course!

If it makes you feel any better, Ruth, it's 53* here right now, and it's only suppose to get up to 63* later. Not complaining, though, as I know there'll be plenty of sweltering days ahead for us.

We got thoroughly drenched yesterday at the horse show, but it was worth to see Cindy get 1st place and 4th place in the Ladies Side-Saddle Event. I haven't heard how she made out on the evening's events yet, since I had to bring the girls back home for Pony Club and Richard was taking them back to watch the show. Today I'm staying at the farm to get ready for some VIP guests from England who will be arriving for the weekend. I know I'll have to do a big grocery shop, too.

Good morning, ladies, and welcome back to May, Ruth!! Perhaps you jinxed the temperature yesterday with your talk of January.

We have sun this morning as well and are slated to go to 70-ish. I hope to get a chance to putter in the garden after work this afternoon. Just because I have to complain about something, I will mention it is tough to work outside after supper due to all the black flies. Nasty little buggers!

Ruth, hope you get your flowers planted.
Cottage, sounds like a busy weekend in your future!

Gotta fly! Have a great day everyone!

It MAY be cooler today, but it sure does feel lovely!

Cottage, Congrats to Cindy! Tell her to do some of the evenets at my boss' shows so I can visit you and watch!

Ruth, LOL...I think it's hysterical none of us saw it. I guess we all needed coffee yesterday! I hope you enjoy a quiet day to yourself!

Beth - you can come down in putter in my garden too

It is my last long day at my old job!!! I did tell DH now all my days will be long days, but hopefully more enjoyable . I looking forward to moving on to my next adventure in life .

Hi!

It MAY be hotter here today LOL! Yesterday was 90 in Denver and I was hot even cruising in my helpers 1984 Porsche with the top down. (We just had to go for some supplies).

I'm short on time this morning...too much talking w/DH. Today is an extra day at the restaurant for me...bring on the cash!

Pearlrose, update on my project. This is my grandmothers tiny house that was vacant for 40 years. It is on the street above us and I can see it out my back windows. Last year we started in May but got sidelined by the necessity of new sewer/water, which the guy didn't finish until the end of July. Then we got sidelined again last fall when my mom had the rental disaster. We're really in the final stages now....and I have renters waiting in line as we have a tunnel on I-70 being built a mile East of town. I go to Key West June 23 for a memorial and I'd like to have a renter by then. It's doable. I will post some pictures sometime but I have poor internet in the AM when I'm trying to post. Thanks for asking!

OK, gotta run....smoothie being made right now (Thx DH), I want to water plants outside, have one more coffee then need to plan to drop the pup off at moms...she will watch him so Kirk can get a full project day in.

I'll read posts from work lol

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Another busy morning, this time we are off to meet my parents for breakfast before they head back home. I'm glad they made it here to see whee we live but have to admit it's exhausting having them in town. Tonight I'm having a mellow friend over for dinner and garden talk, should be a much needed relaxing evening.

Tim just has a badly pulled muscle irritating his sciatic nerve. Hoping they have enough staff tonight so he gets an easier shift, and the patient is on to another facility that can deal with her issues better.

Mom brought lots of perennials and we went to the garden store so I have a busy weekend ahead. Can't wait for quiet time in my gardens!

Good morning, sorry ladies but I need to vent. TOM is taking over my life lol. Two visits in one month, not welcome at all!!! Darn hormones all over the place crying, angry and restless. Errrrrrrrg

Ok got that out of the way. The cake looks good. Made two frostings from scratch. The second one was much closer to what I had hoped. DS gave the seal of approval. I really can't wait until this party happens. It is quite challenging trying not to slip up and ruin the surprise.

Sorry no time for personals, so I am sending you hugs and smiles for a great day

Good morning,

Ruth you should take a you day and turn off the ringer

Cottage I am sure that was fun to watch

Beth I remember the black flies from when we used to live in Maine, I remember have to where a hoodie over my head and a hat when I played softball so they would not bite me on the head.

Tywnn glad your last long day at old job is done!

Debbie thanks for the update sounds like it was a long but interesting project, I would love to see pics when you have time to post.

Cyndi glad it is nothing serious for Tim. I love having my parents visit but it can be hectic.

Jekel I can join in sympathizing with you. I am not supposed to be getting periods as doc put me on continuous bc pills so as to regulate my periods and hormones and the past two months I have been spotting almost every week. Getting old

Today I am taking an employee who is retiring out to lunch and tonight DD2 has swim practice and then we are getting our hair cut.

Have a great day everyone!
