Default Marvy May Weekend - May 10 & 11

Good morning. I'm up extra early today because I have to be outta the house by 7 sharp. Today is the day-long seminar near Ottawa for Therapeutic Paws. I could take Jazz with me but it's a very long drive and would be a pretty boring time for him. I'll leave him home with the deck door open for potty in the yard.

Last night was a very warm night and we had a tremendous T-Storm. My Disney used to be absolutely terrified of storms but Jazz just sat up on my lap for a minute and then went back to sleep.

Time to hit the shower and get organized for the road. Enjoy Saturday for me. It's going to be a looooong day!

Have a safe drive, Ruth, and I hope the seminar is fun!

We're due for storms later today, but for now it's a beautiful morning. I'm off to Walmart for groceries before it gets too crazy there!

I'm sending good vibes to Jennifer, on her bike trip and hope it stays dry for your ride!

Have a great day and do something fun!

Good morning! Cottage, your early morning plans sound like mine: groceries at WM!! We had heavy rain overnight but the forecast seems to have clouds today without much rain.

Ruth, you're already on the move but I hope your travels are safe and the day is smooth.
Thinking of Jennifer on her ride today!! Loved the picture!
Jenne, hope you get to the gym this weekend. Good to see you back!
Xan, let's hear it for classes being over!

I need to start some laundry before I rummage for breakfast. Then off to buy food! Have a great day, chicks!

Good Morning

We had heavy rain last night and the sun is shining bright this morning! I've been up with a mish mash of chores and we head up to our renovation at 9. This should be relatively easy-this is my Grandmothers tiny house and we're 3/4 finished AND it's right up our back stairs so we are really working from home.

Jennifer, thanks for posting your progress with a great photo! I look forward to your updates!

Ruth, happy travels...see you soon!

Beth, I hope your weekend is enjoyable and you find some fun time inbetween chores.

Linda, happy shopping!

OK, better finish my smoothie and head off to work.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning! It was HOT last night, and my apartment building's air conditioning won't be on until mid-week (just as the temperatures are supposed to dip from the high 80s to the low 70s, but hey. We run by the calendar here.)

Good luck to Jennifer on your ride! Everyone else (including me) seems to have an Errand Day. I also have several papers and end-of-term projects to grade this weekend.

I'm restarting today rather than tomorrow. This time, I'm looking forward to what I can eat, rather than thinking of what I'm "giving up." Hope it works!

Good morning. Not sure where I was yesterday; sometimes I start checking in here but get distracted by all my other open tabs. Anyhow, I had my annual gyno exam yesterday and she tells me that I am actually in peri-menopause, not post-menopausal as the nurse told me last summer. Which would explain the return to having periods This afternoon we are going to a graduation party. Tomorrow we'll do Mother's Day lunch out with my mom (and her husband and my brother, SIL and nephews) and Mother's Day dinner with MIL and some of DH's family. My boys aren't in town and both called already this week so not sure if I'll even hear from them. They had better call their grandmothers!

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to us all! Remember that mothering is not restricted to those with kids. We also mother each other, our pets and gardens.

Yesterday was a VERY long day since I left at 7 and did not get home until 7:30 at night, just as the power went out. So much for a quick freezer dinner and a hot shower! I ended up having some wine and sat out on the deck for a while before bed. It's back on this morning and I'm just waiting for the water to heat. I'll throw in a load of laundry to salvage a bit of my weekend.

Back in the car at noon today to drive to Brockville to test dogs for the Thera-Paws program. I am hoping they are all great - two of them are Goldens so that'll probably be a sure pass. There is also a Standard Poodle and a Schnauzer mix. I'm hoping to be outta there by 4 and will drive down the Saint Lawrence to DS Jim's SIL's new house for a family BBQ. It should be lots of fun since there are lots of little kids in that branch of my extended family. I absolutely MUST be home before dark so I can hit the bed early.

Monday morning the training and orientation of the students happens. I am doing my part at the front end of the week since I'm taking off on Thursday night.

What is this "retirement" people speak of? Maybe I should "mother" myself today.

Good morning, and Happy Mother's Day to all our moms.

It's looking like it's going to be a beautiful day, and I think my kids are planning a BBQ for supper. I know they asked Jake to make sure the grill was cleaned up and ready to go. Today is my day off, so whatever they want to do is fine with me.

Just checked my phone messages and somebody sent me flowers yesterday. I guess it must have been Mary-Ellen since I'm going to see Jim IRL this afternoon. The florist is closed until.

Good morning! Happy Mothers Day!! We're promised a beautiful day here -- temperatures only in the low 80s, low humidity, lots of sun and breezes. Perfect for those planning picnics.

I started back on SB yesterday -- and it went well! No cravings, no odd symptoms. Fingers crossed….lots of papers to grade.

Happy Mother's Day and Good Morning! Good luck to you Xan! I started back on it a few days ago and it works. I'm starting day 6 today.

I'm hoping to get out for a bike ride with my daughters today in between rain drops.

I received smiles and hugs from my daughter. That makes a great start to my day and a great mother's day.

Just stopping by to say hello. DS2 is working so we will go out for a late dinner. In the meantime DH and I are planning a short hike to enjoy the sun.

Happy Mother's Day to all!
