Default I love smoothies.. anyone making them ?

when I finally broke down and got a vitamix I started making smoothies regularly.. and have consumed more veggies since then than I have ever in my whole life... I particularly like them for lunch... takes minutes to make and very filling perfect for me...when I didn't have the vitamix I used my food processor to do this...
when I have made this for friends they thought is was ICE CREAM,, I have even given it to a few sm children and they also said it was the best ICE CREAM..they had for LUNCH..( even very picky kids seem to love it ) My cousin's grand son( 10 yr old) who is a diabetes loves this .. as it is like ice cream for him and totally works for his blood sugar. and he can have it regularly.

what I do is take several hand fulls of raw spinach or kale leaves (no stems they are bitter raw)) ,
a couple of whole carrots chopped or a few mini sweet peppers or what ever leftover fresh veggies that look sort of whimpy in the frige.like cucumbers, zucchini, yellow sq, tomatoes etc...
add approx 1/4 -1/3 c of Fage FF unflavored greek yogurt,
approx 1 cup of frozen strawberries or berries of some kind
1 scoop of whey protein unflavored.( 70 cal no carbs))
. w a couple of squirts of Torani sugar free raspberry sweetener.
. a tbsp of chia seeds..or flax seeds.
. 2/3 c cool water
. aprox 1/2c of ice cubes..
. and blend that whole MESS up together... as the blender is super strong it makes a huge glass that is like a super thick Milk shake.. if you like it less thick leave out the ice cubes.. .
.... you can chg up the flavor by varying the fruit used.. or add 1/2 banana or a tbsp of peanut butter.. anything seems to work..
the only thing that I have found doesn't work for me is celery of all things.. its flavor over takes the drink completely... ... but most veggies blend and add no or next to no flavor what so ever..

This is super filling and w the ice cream like consistency it is like eating a dessert for lunch... also it cuts your craving for sweets a LOT...

Several friends started using this combo and they also agree their desire for any sweet went way way down...

Learning about green smoothies! :> And I just got a couple of Japanese smoothie recipe books to help out. Sometimes, it's difficult for me to find ingredients here for Western smoothie recipes.

I like using soy milk and tofu, as well, for my smoothies. Right now my diet plan doesn't allow for much else outside of vegan ingredients, though I allow for the now and again scoop of whey powder.
