Default It's Weekend Beach Chat - April 28 & 29

Good morning. The house was very cold this morning so I am glad to be serving Newman's Bold. Anybody want the Timmy's that I don't like? It's a cold day once again at 28ºF but is going up to 51ºF this afternoon with lots of sunshine. It'll still be darned cold at the wedding but we'll survive. Having the sun makes a huge difference!

Spent most of yesterday in the kitchen but don't feel I got much done. I have a little "window of opportunity" after the wedding to finish things for the party at Heather's house. Decided not to fuss with deviled eggs after all - we will have loads of food at the debriefing party. Anybody have a use for a dozen HB eggs?

Sheesh! Lunch in a restaurant before the event, food and the reception and then more food? What the heck was Heather thinking? This is going to be a difficult day.

Now to try to figure out something to wear that is springlike but warm. It'll definitely be pants because of the weather. The good news is, I'll not be wearing sandals so a pedicure is off my prep list.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good morning!

Ruth, is this Claire's Heather that is getting married? I hope you manage to stay warm and comfortable through the outdoor ceremony! Jake said those hard-boiled eggs would make a great egg salad, BTW. He loves it and I hardly ever make it for him.

Well, we've made it to our 43 wedding anniversary today. It sounds our day will revolve around food, too, as Jake wants to go to the Amish Smorgasbord for breakfast, and we are going to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner tonight. I can control myself at breakfast, but there aren't many OP options on the menu for tonight, although I will try not to overdo it. There will be wine, though.

Ruth - try to stay warm today, although shivering does burn calories

cottage - congratulations!!!! best wishes for many more happy years. I love Amish Smorgashbord when in PA!!! CCF does have healthy salad options. Adams rush cheesecake is my absolute favorite. Enjoy your special day.

Work until 7p then home to get ready for tomorrow...at least we will be inside at my sister's.

Dunkin Donuts in my cup today, thanks to our work coffee club

Linda, no it's not Heather. She is still enjoying being a single Mom, especially when the boys are with their Dad! It's a woman from our Church family who has been talking about this event for over 18 months. Before that she talked on and on about her mother's funeral. I guess we are now into 18 months of post-wedding talk. We are hoping she decides not to breed.

Happy Anniversary to you and Jake. Enjoy dinner tonight!

Good Morning

Linda, congrats on 43! Enjoy your day! I always get the thai wraps at CC Fact. -hold the chix. It's been so long I don't remember if tofu is an option. I agree, not much OP/

jekel, I hope your workday is smooth so you can get ready for tomorrow.

Ruth, good call on the deviled eggs. I'm sure you'll have another event that you can use them for. Stay warm today, and yes, sun helps.

Me, work then travel day. I'm sitting here with both computers trying to make sure I have all I need transferred to the laptop for tomorrows meeting. Pool tonight! Yay!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning!

Ruth - Keep warm and have fun.

Linda - Congratulations!!

jekel - If you've told us what you do, I don't remember. Just that it is long days.

Debbie - Have a safe trip and enjoy your pool time.

I'm thinking about trying the Saturday yoga class at my gym. In the past I've only liked it with one particular instructor (who only does a few classes during the week) but might be ready to see if I am over that. Tonight we have dinner with a large group of couples and I'm hoping I can get a nap in before then so I don't spend the evening hiding yawns.

Have a great weekend!

I'm still laughing from Ruth's comment that the woman hopefully won't breed! Good luck controlling yourself with all that food Ruth!!

Cottage - congratulations!!! Any tips for us youngsters on how to stay with that spouse for 43 years?!?!

Jekel - Enjoy your coffee!

Debbie - I hope your pool visit tonight is relaxing after your busy day.

I'm enjoying the quiet (except for the screaming kitten demanding to be let out...but I don't want him waking the kids up by walking on them!) until the house starts moving. My DH has a men's breakfast today with a class entitled "how to understand the mind of a woman", but it's only 1 hour long. LOL....Really? Tee Hee Hee.

I have a going away party for the third vet at my work (he is stinkin' funny, I will surely miss him) at lunch today, but otherwise catch up. I wont mention that I made a che*sec*ke last night to bring with me, balanced out by a veggie tray.

My head cold is kicking in (blueberries! I need to eat blueberries!), so hopefully a nap later!

Good morning This 4 am thing is getting old. Oh well. Off to help a friend move this afternoon. Hoping all that exercise will get me over the sleep issues. Tomorrow I have to really focus on Julie's PI photo exhibit. It's going up next Saturday and there are a few pieces I want to put together for the show.

I know we had spring in March but I'd like it to come back now. It's time to get that garden in!

Morning girls! The k cups came yesterday... Chris approves of Wolfgang Puck's Creme Caramel, and as soon as mine is cool enough to taste, I'll fill you in on Mocha Nut Fudge. Smells good... Smells like Christmas at my parents' house. SNIFFFFF ahhhhhh.

Trying to wake up. I'll post more later!

Morning Chicks!

Lisa - Glad it was yummy! That might just make it onto my next coffee order

It's been a crazy busy week around here so I haven't had a lot of time to check in. DH left for work at 4:30 this morning and I'm not sure when he'll be done so it's just me & the kids today. Lots of errands to do including trying to track down some sample packs of protein powder. I've never used it before but I've got to substitute something for the yogurt in my morning smoothies because I think my tummy is starting to not like all the dairy I'm consuming. We don't have a lot of shopping options around here so fingers crossed I'll be able to find something.

Have a great day chicks!

Survived the wedding although they still had it outside despite the freezing cold weather. The bride was a pretty shade of pale blue. We partied back at Heather's afterwards and danced to get warm. Gotta love Abba.

I am about to make a small batch of cookies for the "lunch" after Church today - just a small one to fill some spaces in the trays - and plan to spend the afternoon and evening doing ME things.

What's a-happening on your Sunday which I hope is sunny in every way?

Good morning. I opened my stash of coffee beans from Vermont Coffee Company. They had a sale so I now have 2 2-lb boxes of beans. It's a nice way to start the day. I actually managed almost 6 hours of sleep last night thanks to the magic of stinky herbal sleep aids. Definitely better than the not quite 4 I've been doing.

Today's a busy at home chore day for me. I'm going to mow the lawn while it's still pleasantly cool. Then I have a falafel recipe to try from the Co-op cookbook project, laundry, and cleaning. I'm setting up a Julie photography exhibit next Saturday so need to create a memorial bio and package, inventory, and price everything going down there. That's actually the big project for the week.

The sun is out and I'm ignoring the temperature for now.

Good morning, Stop and Shop coffee for me. It's cheap and is pretty flavorful.

Ruth, glad you had a nice time yesterday. My nephew's is today. My sister is keeping us inside (yeah)

Cyndi, sounds like you have a busy week.

this week for me is pretty hectic. Monday or Tuesday I will be at my friend's property playing catch up on weeding. We need to plant six more fruit trees and replace 12 or so raspberry bushes. I enjoy doing it for him, plus it is a great stress release.

Wednesday I will be at a drill for work. Then my normal work week is extended through Sunday as I took overtime. What was I thinking lol oh yeah....bills!
So there will not be much time for anything on those days.

I will do my cooking for most of the week tomorrow night. I have been in the mood for Italian. I have a super easy and yummy recipe for spaghetti squash with turkey bolognese. I do enjoy seeing my fridge full of colorful veggies!

My numbers have stalled this week. No loss or gain, which I told myself is ok. I have been following phase 2, but this was an emotionally draining week. I am celebrating that I have resisted the urge to binge! The numbers will follow.

Have a great day!
