Switching

  • Okay so I am not pleased with the lenght of time I've been doing WW and the pounds lost; so I am switching to SBD. It has worked quite well for me in the past so I'm hoping this round is the same. I know I shouldn't flip flop but I want to give this one a try again, I went on WW because I heard so much good about it and the ease of it but it's just not giving me the results I want. So, is there anything new I should know about for SB? I'm going to check out their site & whatnot as well and I also have a lot of the SB books. SO wish me luck!
  • mrsdocrocks! The best advice I always give for anyone starting this plan is to Read The Book first, and I see that you already plan on doing that.

  • read the book and check out the updated foods list in our FAQ Welcome back to the beach!
  • welcome. I was a WW lifetime member. I found if I didn't write everything down and track the pounds started creeping back. I've followed WW off and on for years as it is a healthy lifestyle choice and not a fad. I know I am only in my second week, but SB seems like an easier way for me to achieve my goal weight (again) and maintain it once and for all! good luck!
  • Welcome! I'm a former WW too; that's how I first found 3fc many years ago. I actually went back last year to check out the new plan but just can't get my head into counting points anymore.
  • I tried WW twice - Not only didn't I like counting everything, but I would cheat myself. If I had 26 points for the day, I'd eat two candy bars, a bunch of no point soup and that was that. I didn't lose (shocker) and was still a sugar addict. So...back to SBD for me. That was last July and I am still here!

    Good luck!
  • thanks for the welcomes

I think the problem with WW (for me) is that you CAN eat whatever the heck you want as long as it is within your point range... and I overdo it with the 0 points for fruit because of course I'd rather something sweet most of the time LOL I am looking forward to starting SBD again because I remember really seeing a difference last time and plan on sticking with it this time (I stopped due to pregnancy last time) Yeah I know I could have stayed on lol but those cravings took over. Anyhow look forward to posting with all of you!
  • Good luck with starting the south beach diet! Haha, I remember doing weight watchers a few years ago- started when I was 16! Then, because I was 'allowed' I'd have those 100 calorie sweet treats EVERY day- now that I read the ingredients I am frightened by them! I never used to eat sweets until I could haha and hence started south beach It is much more maintainable and I track my calories occasionally (I am a number geek lol!) and find that I eat the right amount by just listening to my body's satiety and following SBD principles. It really is great as you're not thinking of food all the time as it was with counting. I really do wish you the best of luck and success! Welcome to the beach!
