My great debate

  • After my son is said and done with this upcoming week's Spring Break I'll be rip roaring ready to go ... but I'm having a dreadful time deciding what day I want to start!

I work third shift (11pm-7am) 5 nights a week with Wednesday and Thursday as my "weekend" nights off and therefore my only "full nights" for sleep and typically the nights I have the hardest time controlling the mindless boredom munchies. So starting Friday might make sense to keep me a little more honest those nights (and the scales are typically friendlier after good sleep). BUT then Tom (the Significant Other) has Saturdays and Sundays off and 95% of the time wants to order in OR we'll go off to his sisters for some sort of get together or whatever. So starting Monday might make sense to keep me a little more careful on the "real world" weekend.

I don't really expect anyone to be able to tell me what I "should" do ... just needed to ramble, I guess.
  • , Karen, and good luck, which ever day you decide to start your new lifestyle plan.

I know you didn't ask for advice, but having healthy munchies on hand for when that "snack attack" strikes will help you stay on plan. I love to snack on roasted chickpeas, edamame, nuts, and string cheese.
  • Karen, I think it is good that you are being careful not to set your self up for failure. I always try to think ahead of situations that I know will not be good. (Like not watching what my DH picks up in the snack aisle at the store, he will grab something for me, thinking he is being sweet - and I will tell him later, why did you get that, I don't eat those anymore. His reply, thought you might like to enjoy a few - that is a set up for me.) I know he mean well, but I would rather have a hug.
