I can't believe it's here...the last day of August. We're traveling this morning...over for three days of painting then back Saturday morning. Oh well.
Good morning Lexiss! Safe travels, doesn't sound like a very fun trip, eh?
A few of you asked how long I was doing phase I for...I dunno. (LOL...so much for planning, huh?) Probably a minumum of 5 days. Longer if I notice I need it. Do love that whoooosh weight loss without the grains, but too bad it doesn't stay down. My cravings are going down a bunch though!
Work should be interesting today, then I'm hoping for a trail run this afternoon. Didn't get one Monday since a most handsome kitty (not mine!) ate 29" of ribbon I needed to retrieve. I am eager to check on him this morning!
Good morning, Debbie. I think August just flew by; in fact, the entire summer seemed to go by way too fast. It seems the kids just got out of school, and now they're back in already. Have a good trip over the mountain. How long of a drive is it, anyway?
Both girls were happy and full of excited chatter after their first day back at school, and first thing Maggie did when we got home was to pick out her outfit for today. I hope she's as enthusiastic the rest of the school year.
I'm back to spending my Wednesday mornings with Richard's parents, then I want to start reorganizing the girls bedrooms this afternoon. We've been a little lax on that over the summer holidays, and both rooms could use a thorough cleaning.
I'd better get going now and run over to the store. I just realized I don't have anything to pack Jake's lunch with!
Good morning It's my last day of full time work and I've got a ton of data and clean-up to do before heading north to the office. On the way I have an interview for a small PT job I am very interested in I'll try to catch-up later. Happy Hump Day!
Yes, it's the end of August. My summer just whooshed by too!
Debbie, I don't envy you all the driving but do admire you for all you get done. Funny you should mention painting because I just realized I need to call my painter about the front porch.
Twynn, poor kitty! My spaniel once ate some butcher cord that had been on a roast - he was OK but it was nerve-wracking.
Cottage, say Hi to the Girlies for me. I found two of Carley's beads when I moved a table yesterday and was reminded of her. Tell her that her artwork is still on the fridge.
After a barfy start yesterday, life improved. I met sister Joan for lunch and a re-hash of nephew's wedding. We sat out on a patio and enjoyed the dregs of summer - great except for the wasps or hornets who kept buzzing my diet cola. Came home to find the escape artist had dug under the fence again and was at my neighbour's patio. Dealt with that and then went off to Kingston to see the help with some friends. Really enjoyed the film. We had supper in a Vietnamese restaurant which was yummy and on plan.
Some accounting stuff to do this morning and a Fair Board Meeting at 7. I;m sure I'll find some fun things to do to dilute the not-so-fun stuff.
Don't you hate maintaining??? I've been doing it since Saturday. It wouldn't be so bad if hubby weren't in continual whoosh mode. Oh well....
Other than that, things are great! I'm taking off work early Friday, picking Auston up from school, and we are heading to the beach for one last hoo-rah. It's pretty easy to eat on plan at the beach.
Twynn: I have childhood memories of a cat with Christmas tree tinsel dragging from her bottom...
Cottage: Auston wants to pick out his own clothes, too. Mostly I accommodate him, but yesterday was picture day, and it was an early morning struggle. Yuck!
Ruth: Is The Help a chick flick? Would hubby enjoy it?
Debbie - Drive safely and happy painting. What happened to August?
Twynn - I'll be joining you today with a return to PH1. That whoosh would be very welcome here!
Linda - I agree, the summer flew by. But it always does, IMO. I did the same with my teen's room when he left a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure what he'll think when he gets home but it's his own fault for leaving it a mess.
Cyndi - Happy last day and good luck with the interview.
Ruth - Sounds like you had a lovely day.
Yesterday DH and I took advantage of no kids and no jobs to spend a nice day together "celebrating" our anniversary. Makes me realize we should plan more outings now that we can. My eating was crappy though so I will be back on PH1 for a bit. I am up a couple pounds since my road trip and need to get it off and keep it off!
Today I have my appointment, finally, with the new dentist to remove and replace my old, broken crown. I expect it will be long and unpleasant and then I return in about 3 weeks. Tonight a fellow mom has invited a group over to make care packages for our college freshman. Should be fun and with my tooth I have a great excuse not to eat anything.
Not sure if I shared that the teen is now pledging a frat. He's been much better than we expected about willingness to stay in contact with home
All this school talk has me feeling very fall-ish! I love fall and am looking forward to my favorite season once again. Hopefully this year it will last a bit longer than last year. It was an early and long winter in Minnesota and I would be glad to not repeat it!
Today is back to P1 for a couple weeks. Sounds like a few others are doing P1 as well! After the last few days I'm actually looking forward to it. I have IBS and for the 10 days I was doing P1 I didn't struggle with a SINGLE upset stomach. I don't know what it is about the particular foods, but I felt really great. Not to mention the scale shows 3 lbs higher than it did on Saturday, although I'm not surprised!
I hope everyone has a great day. Good luck, Cyndi, at your interview!!
Alright, time for some coffee for me!

Good Morning Ladies! The month is already gone... Its almost unbelievable how time goes so fast...
Debbie- I hope you can squeeze some fun in that painting weekend of yours!!!
Twynn- poor kitty! I used to work in a vet hospital and we had one dog that had to have like 5 exploratory surgeries from eating stuff... He seemed to have an affinity for plastic...He was a chocolate standard poodle with the most gorgeous smile-and obviously we got to know him too well!!! I hope the kitty is doing well this morning!
Cottage- when you are done there could you come help with mine? lol I need some organization in my life!
Cyndi- Good Luck!!!
Ruth- sounds like yesterday shaped up nicely. Glad you're feeling better!
Michelle- enjoy the beach!!! Sounds like a blast
Karen- Thats a neat idea about the care packages! And sounds like good venting time re: kids starting college ;0)
South
As for me today... I just did 3COMPLETE days on a row without rest of c25k! whoohooo! I am taking a rest day tomorrow for sure- I can't believe I look forward to getting up early and running! Its great! Just some cleaning and organizing on the agenda today... Hope you ladies have a great Humpday!
southhmplsgrl - I used 1/2 c. cottage cheese, 1/2 oz or so cream cheese, 1 T peanut butter, and 1 -1 1/2 T cocoa. oh, and 1/2 pack stevia. a little skim milk to thin it, then my immersion blender. Tasted like cheesecake batter! My estimate is 230-250 calories. I was going to make it mocha (the cocoa and instant coffee granules), but not enough calories, and I'm sure wouldn't have held me to lunch!
TASTY!! And you used your immersion blender?? My regular blender is broken so I was thinking I wouldn't be making smoothies until that was repaired or replaced. But, if you used your immersion blender for that, I may have to give it a try!
