Default SBD Chat - Monday, August 15

Am I first?

I'd rather be sleeping. Darn snoring husband. And trip anticipation. I've been up long enough to wash a bunch of fruit and tomatoes for the road. I'll slice up some colored peppers next. The car is mostly packed. And very full! Just need the coolers and food today and our overnight bags. We plan to hit the road by 8:00am and put in 12 to 14 hours of drive time today, getting us maybe to Utah for overnight.

My eating has really been bad the past few days. It is probably a combination of stress and knowing I'll eat stuff I won't normally while traveling and having "healthy" foods around that I don't usually keep here because they are too tempting. I've eaten a lot of bread! No exercise for several days, car snacking... I'm am already eager to be back home and back to routine!

Will try to check in sometime. Have a great week all.

Have a good trip, Karen, and be safe! Thanks for taking the time to check in before you leave. I'll be thinking of you.

It's still dark out and very wet. Appropiate for a Monday-Moanday I guess. It's back to work for me, but I AM eager to see my girlies and hear all about their adventures of the past 2 weeks. I'm anticipating a very busy day at the farm, too, as I wonder if all the unpacking and dirty laundry has been dealt with yet.

I'd better get a coffee refill, as I think I'm going to need it!

Hey guys,
It's a moany Monday here too. I intended to get up early and exercise; that did not happen. The next month and a half will be all over the place for me; no routine will be possible between vacation/start of school/tonsillectomy. My struggle will be to "go with the flow" and not let the lack of consistency throw me off. I've got to come up with a plan on how to handle it.

Food wise this weekend was bad; generally I've been on plan but not very motivated, and I haven't formally exercised since my terrible mittleschirtz/ovarian cyst experience two weeks ago. Now TOM is here and once it's over I'll pursue another sonogram to see if the cyst is gone. It was pressing on my sciatic nerve and I was very uncomfortable for the past two weeks. It's better now; but I don't want to go through this again.

Feeling a little blue today. It's supposed to rain too (sigh). Hope everyone has a great day. I feel like I'll cheer up when I get to work, ironically.

Good morning from drippy and dark Vermont We definitely need the rain and I prefer rainy Mondays to rainy weekends. It just seems appropriate for Monday.

Karen - safe travels. Wow, that's a lot of driving in one day. I know people do it but my back gets cranky with just the 5 to my parents. How often do you stop?

Cottage - Bet the girls will have lots to tell you and be very happy to see you

Just another day on the road for me. 11 more days to gainful underemployment This time of year there's so much to do I'm sure I won't have much free time. It will sure be nice to do home stuff though. I expect a well stocked pantry and freezer before I return to full time work, and lots of hours at the Co-op so we get our discount back. I'm already planning my days.

ETA - Matilda Hope your day brightens up

Karen, enjoy the trip. It sounds like you have the food situation in good control.

Cottage, I sure hope Cindy threw in a load or two of laundry. I well remember how grubby camping clothes were.

Cyndi, I love "gainfully underemployed"! I'm sure your larder will be well-stocked soon. (Note to Self: get the dehydrator onto the counter and use it!)

Matilda, sure hope your day improves as it unfolds. Try to find a little "me" space.

Today is a normal Monday around here except for having four dogs. They are behaving really, really well and, although they like to play with each other, definitely know that I'm pack leader. Even mealtimes are just fine and I feed them all in the same room.

Well, I am about to change my ticker ...UP! The slippage and water weight seems to have settled in for a while and I may as well admit it. Luckily my dress from the June wedding still fits (wore it yesterday to Church) but I need it to keep fitting. I have a gourmet Local Flavours dinner this coming weekend and my nephew's wedding the following Saturday. The focus must be on veggies if I am going to get this weight fight under control again.

Hope your Monday has sunshine whether sunny or not, Let's enjoy these last few weeks of summer. I can smell fall in the cooler mornings.

Yes, I'm showing my tracker which is no longer lying.

Karen - safe travels, friend. I will enjoy hearing your tales as you go/return!

Cottage - I'm sure you'll get lots of great stories! Enjoy the girls!

Matilda - I understand the lack of motivation. Hope work provides a pick-me-up.

Cyndi - I think I'd be making a list of everything I need to do around the house once I had more time....sounds great!

Ruth - I keep thinking how un-fair it is that my weight will fluctuate so easy compared to some. I made myself feel better that if I were a cave woman, I'd be highly desirable (since I'm an "easy keeper") and better yet, alive. LOL!

We had a pleasant weekend away, and now....back to reality. I haven't gone shopping, but realized I have a bunch of yummy leftovers that will be great (beans-n-greens!) instead of eating poorly. I made some good choices, but then some not-so-good ones too (Isn't it law you must have key lime pie after a seafood dinner?).

Now, to finish this coffee before the day starts up...

Cyndi - As infrequently as possible! Meals, gas, potty break, sometimes all at one stop, if we can. I hate sitting that long and will be horribly stiff after, but it beats taking days longer for us.

I just remembered that my son has a little fish. I hope he passed it on to a friend already!

Good Morning

I got some rest last night....good thing because I teach my water yoga from 8-10 this morning. I enjoyed coffee and have been studying up and formulating my plan....hip openings sound good after all that time in the car yesterday...meditation is on present moment awareness-something I'm looking forward to getting back to.

Our trip was good and the best thing was driving to pick up Bing. He was pampered to the max but was overjoyed to see us. I truly enjoy when I can let him know his family always returns and he never has to spend days in a dirty kennel again.

Have a great day everyone and safe travels, Karen! Wave North at exit 114-we're in Glenwood Spgs today...
