Default SBD Chat for Thursday, Feb. 24

If someone has beat me to this, just combine the threads...I'm late this am, and can't believe no one else is up!

I will not be sad to say goodbye to February. It has not been a fantastic month for me on many levels - things have felt a little out of control. I've been off plan with my eating and spent FAR too much money. I'm thinking seriously of giving up wine for Lent because it seems to get me so off track eating wise (and there've been a couple of online purchases that might not have happened were it not for the wine!). Tomorrow is my last weigh in for February and I'm apprehensive. We'll see what happens.

Hope everyone has a great day! I've finished up my large project at work, so it's just catch up today, and then tomorrow I'm off.

Default SBD DAILY CHAT, Thursday 2/24

Happy Thursday! At least for me, as today's my "Friday," and my weekend starts tomorrow.

AcK! I can't think of a thing to say right now, so I'm going to get myself another cup of coffee.

Hello and good morning! Today I had to take Avery to the doctor to get her medical clearance done and it went great. Not that I expected them to find something terribly wrong with her but I'm glad we're good to go on that front. Tom has his appointment next week and then we'll meet with the medical board and then we can get the official orders and plane tickets. Yay! I did give the doctor a little laugh when he asked if she was up to date on her vaccinations and I told him we chose not to do Hepatitis B since she's neither an intravenous drug user nor sexually active.

We stopped by to see our friends who are in town after the appointment and said goodbye to them. They leave tonight. It was such fun getting to see them again while they were here!

Connor should be home from school in a couple minutes and then we have his violin lesson and his martial arts class this afternoon. I'm making the cauliflower alfredo sauce for lunch, probably with asparagus and fake chicken. Can't wait!

Matilda, sorry your February has been poopy. Hope March treats you better!

Linda, enjoy your last day of work for the week!

Good morning! There is a beautiful light in the East and it's not the Christmas Star! I think today is gong to give us a little taste of Spring with the temperature at just freezing. I was really hoping some of the snow would melt off the deck but I guess I need to be more patient.

Thanks for starting us up, Matilda. Somebody has to be responsible! I hear you about February. I don't think it was a stellar month for many of us. I'm considering ditching wine for Lent too. It'll be nice for you to have Friday off.

Cottage, I know you have Friday off. I hope today goes quickly for you so you can segue into your weekend. I measured the snow on the front lawn yesterday and it's over a foot so Spring will certainly be down there before she sidles in up here!

Spent ALL of yesterday working on Accounting. Silly Government wants me to issue T4 slips to all the employees to show what they earned and what deductions were made! Of course I keep finding errors in what I deducted. Never mind, it'll all work out.

Still reeling a bit from hearing of the death of one of my Food Bank clients. Maureen (52) was really living on the edge financially - she would have been a street person if Delta has street people. (We look after our own.) Despite all her health and financial problems, she was always very cheerful and just loved flowers. I gave her seeds every spring and she planted a lovely garden on her postage stamp size trailer lot. She adored her dog - I am going to avoid adopting the little thing as he is quite anti-social.

Didn't mean to dump this on you Chicks. I'm going to get another coffee and cheer up.

Just slap me!

at Kara. I am so relieved to hear Avery is not sexually active! You reminded em that I have a lovely cauliflower in my crisper that needs using. Maybe with dinner?

Ruth, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Glad to have given you a laugh, though. Things like that make me wonder about the medical community sometimes...

I think the caffeine finally got my motor running.

Matilda, I won't be sorry to see February leave us, either. It always seems that the shortest month ends up being the longest. Good luck getting yourself back on track today, and we can both celebrate having the day off tomorrow.

Kara, too funny about the hepatitis vaccine! BTW, that cauliflower alfredo sauce is really yummy! I've been eating mine over roasted green beans.

Ruth, that's a sad story about your friend Maureen. That was kind of you to give her seeds every year for her garden, and I bet she really appreciated them. I hope her pup finds a good home. We have about 2" of snow in the yard left from this latest storm, and hopefully all the rain that's due will help wash it away.

Today's looking like an easy day with not much to do, but that may also make it a long day. I'll have to find a project to do at Cindy's to keep me busy! If it's not raining when the girls get home, we'll go out riding for a while. Yesterday I ended up taking them out for supper, and they picked the Chinese buffet. I tried to select healthy options for myself, but all the food was so greasy. Yuk! It's a good thing I don't weight myself, because I know I'd be disgusted today. But I'll be back to clean eating today.

Good morning from Massachusetts - and I'm rushing as usual. I head home this afternoon and I've got quite a few things I want to get done before then. I've had a great time with my mom and we got a lot of things taken care of. No matter how long I stay I always wish I could stay a little bit longer, but I've got things to do at home and Fergie and the pup are missing me, too. I'll stop to see my son on the way home - one last birthday meal out. It's great to be loved but it sure is hard on the diet, eh? LOL

Ruth, I'm sorry about Maureen. *hug*
Kara, I got a smile out of your comment to the doctor, too.
Linda, enjoy your 'Friday' today.
Matilda, spring begins in March - it has to be a good month, right?

Enjoy your Thursday friends!

Good morning chicks, I've got a doctor's appt this morning which I just realized is at 8:45, not 8 as I thought, so I've got a few minutes to drink a cup of coffee and chat. Can't wait for this week to be over, I am so overwhelmed. I need to work many hours today and tomorrow I have to be in the office. At least after the doctor's appt, I don't need to go out anywhere. DD1 is home sick again. I would have kicked her out anyway but for the pesky fever she is running. There will be wine tomorrow night. Oh, good news! I got DH's travel details and he will be arriving home next Friday. We can't wait, this 4 months has seemed like a year. I think I'll do better staying on plan with him around too. He loves the beach food. He doesn't check up on me, but having someone else around helps with accountability. Wish I had tomorrow off too, but I'll plan to take off next Friday to pick up DH and enjoy the day.
I am blabbing here, better go get ready for my appt. Have a good day all.

Good Morning

I'm barely up...no coffee yet. I've got to make a run for the store and buy salad stuff or we won't have any for lunch. Pool this morning, skiing, another workout, meeting then a drive back over to the East side where Kirk and Rudi await.

Ruth, sorry to hear about Maureen. God bless the communities who take care of their own.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning chicks!

MMK - LOL...purchases online due to wine! I'm lucky, wine makes me VERY sleepy (even 1/2 glass), so I just go to bed! Hope your March is better for you.

Cottage - Mmmmmmm....chinese buffet. I agree, never ever weigh the day after Chinese food...

Ruth - so sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like she was well loved by the community.

Kara - wow, the countdown is on!! Do you know anyone that will be there?

Heidi - Hope you enjoy dinner with the son .

Me - Another clean day! I had a client drop off some kind of candy as a thank you, and I resisted!! I thought of trying one (I think they're an homemade brand of Milk Duds), but acknowledged I wouldn't stop with one!

Off to work shortly, my schedule was packed. Hopefully it wont be another late night!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday went well. I fit in a little treadmill and succeeded in NOT weighing myself this morning. I can't wait for it to get warmer soon, as I always find the spring weather gives me even more motivation to get up and going. Anyone else looking forward to getting outside again?!

Good morning!!

Another day of state testing for me. The kids did well yesterday, hopefully they will do even better today.

I was excited yesterday at my meeting. I have been involved in a research study where they are looking at ways to improve teaching. It is a national study thru the University of Florida, University of Colorado and Cal State L.A. Anyway over the last two years I have gotten all sorts of extra training. They have come in to my room and video taped and then I get coaching. It has been great. One of the things they also do is test my students to measure their growth as a way to see if I am being sucessful. Anyway, I got to see some data yesterday and it was really positive.

I had better get this morning started.

Have a great day!!

Ruth

Nicole - Me! Biking

My teen is home sick again today. I heard him get up at 3:00 and he was taking his temp. At 4:00 I heard him again; he gave up trying to sleep and went to the basement to TV. Which means he is now sleeping where I would like to be exercising. Oh well, another maternal sacrifice. I'm trying not to stress about how much he is missing by not being in class.

My other son turns 21 today!

We are under a winter weather something-or-other. Freezing rain maybe later. Yep, looking forward to spring.

Ruthie, so sorry to hear such sad news. I will keep you and her doggie in my prayers.

Just flying through real quick today. Still OP! Wanted to cheat last night but I didn't, even as Chris popped chocolate covered cherries into his mouth and then smiled at me. Punk. At least I finally weigh less than he does now.

Listening to some tunes and workin away. Hope everyone has a blessed OP day!!!
