(Re)Starting Phase 1 today....just curious about these smoothies though.
Username taken, how do you make "spinach and berry smoothie w/ ricotta and almond milk"... sounds like that would be easy to make once I start Phase 2. |

Willow-Here's my basic smoothie recipe. The amounts are all estimates, of course. I just toss it all in my blender and let it whir away.
1 handful spinach leaves Tablespoon or two of ricotta (or silken tofu or greek yogurt) 1 C frozen mixed berries 1 T cocoa powder 1 C unsweetened almond milk (add more or add water if needed for blending) Splenda to taste (unless I have frozen banana on hand, then no sweetner is necessary) B-smoothie seen above S-avalanche of off plan snacks. It's amazing how far "Oh, I'll just have one" will take you. L-broccoli/cauliflower with greek yogurt dip; D-ww spaghetti w/lean meatballs |
Wednesday Phase 2
B: ww pita with pb S: edamame, banana L: lentil soup with ww pita S: carrots and hummos D: chicken sausage with greens |
Phase 1.5
B: eggs over creamed spinach, V8 S: carrots and hummus L: chili or dal, glass of skim milk, salad S: skim latte, bean brownie, clementine D: marinated flank steak, roasted green beans, creamed spinach S: skim cocoa if I need it |
Phase II
B. Smoothie - milk, flax, yogurt, strawberries, spinach L. spinach salad with walnuts, goat cheese and mushrooms D. oven baked haddock, sweet potato fries, spinach again!, sliced tomato Snack - not always needed but ... V8, sliced apple |
I binged on sorbet and a molten chocolate lava cake last night. It's funny, before, a binge on those things for me would have been 2 or 3 of the cakes. i had one last night with a few scoops of the sorbet, but i just felt crappy afterwards and i still do this morning. maybe it's time for a little phase 1.
phase 1 1: smoothie (chocolate protein, greek yogurt) 2: spaghetti squash deep dish pizza with lots of veggies 3: almonds 4: grilled sirloin (3 oz.), roasted asparagus, greek salad exercise: 60 min. treadmill |
Edit to yesterday: DH made me a cup of tea infused with cedar and with a tsp of honey and a "dash" of rum - not OP, but it cleared up my sinus for a while
Today; Phase II B: Egg scramble S: FF Yogurt L: Chickpea/Spinach stew S: 1% cottage chz w/berries D: Red beans sans rice DD: 100 cal popcorn Cal Total: 1381 |

Phase 2 Breakfast: ww toast with natural peanut butter, skim milk, one cup coffee Snack: one cup coffee Lunch: Turkey, avocado, tomato lettuce wraps with a little light mayo Snack: I banana, 3 chocolate covered graham crackers (I caved, but they really weren't that bad calorie wise (140) and had only about 10 grams of sugar per serving, which was 4 cookies) Dinner: roasted chicken, broccoli, brown rice, green tea Lots and lots of water and one hour of kickboxing--wow, she worked our abs! Very curious about these smoothie recipes--can you taste the spinach? A friend told me she used frozen broccoli but I haven't tried to make one yet. I need to up my veggie count and a smoothie might be the answer. |
Back from interviews and vegas! Wheee! I ate and drank a lot. The alcoholic slushes in Vegas are deadly! :devil:
