Default Dr.'s Orders = New SB Fan

Hi,

I am a new SB fan. I have had a lot of digestive issues and all of the testing has come back with no hard fast answers. So my doctor wants me to do South Beach. I guess they are discovering a lot of people are sensitive to the large amounts of sugar and carbs in the typical American diet. She also has me doing a week without dairy and then a week with lots of dairy to rule out any lactose issues. So far I am excited about how good I feel. I am on Phase 1 Day 5. I also like how easy it has been to accomadate my vegetarian lifestyle.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Jasmine

I did south beach but I couldn't stick with it! I think being a vegitarian would make it alot easier! I to have many digestive issues that my Dr. told me to modify my diet to see what triggers/what doesnt!

Good luck and let me know how the digestive issues work out!

to The Beach, Jasmine!

Without knowing exactly what your digestive issues are, on the South Beach plan, you'll be getting a lot of fiber from vegetables and whole grains and should start feeling a whole lot better. I hope you plan to read the book before you start this plan so you'll understand the how's, why's and what-for's for a successful weight loss.

I am vegetarian, too, and there are a few others here, and we all find that the SBD is very compatable and easy to follow.

Good luck, and we hope you come here and post often. We look forward to getting to know you!

I love SB and it has helped me with digestive issues as well. I have found that the longer I am with it, the more towards the vegetarian side I swing. Its great!

Welcome Jasmine!

I too started SBD in order to feel better. I'm thrilled with my weight loss and now that I'm eating well I truly feel better than I've felt in years.

Good luck to you and I look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes. I am excited. I have read the book and looked around southbeachdiet.com website. I did decide the website was not worth it for me. I think I can get the same support here for free.

Welcome aboard, Jasmine! I don't have digestive issues, but I can honestly say that I don't feel GREAT unless I'm on SB. Occasionally I take a "break" (falling flat on my face, usually) and go through periods where my blood sugar is way off, I'm fatigued, and just not doing super. I too am vegetarian, and the SB way of eating is the only way I have felt awesome inside and out.

Again, welcome, and if you ever need anything, we're always here!

Hi Jasmine!

My DH and I eat mostly vegetarian SBD meals. Although I am the one losing weight, we both feel great and both of us have seen great improvement in our numbers every time we have our blood work done.

Great job on P1 and I'm glad you found us!
