Default FitDay 'issues'

Does anyone else share my frustration or am I doing something wrong? I tried to list greek yogurt on Fitday, but they have no entry for it. The nutrition info for greek yogurt is substantially different than regular yogurt. Then I tried to list flax seeds, but they do not allow you to enter in tablespoon measurements! I know a lot of people use this program but I really don't want to have to enter in custom foods every day. Any tips?

I have the program on my computer. It was worth it to me because of all the custom foods I use.

Same here. I have loads of custom foods entered. It takes time at first but now is great.

I agree with you and them! I have used it off and on and always needed to enter a lot of custom foods. But then less and less over time. I have used it to track exercise and my weight for a long time. I hear a lot about sparkspeople so you might check that out but I would guess it is similar.

I have used it for years and love it. What I do for foods that I want to measure in Tablespoons, is in my description, I would put (for example) Peanut Butter-2 T and then my serving size would be 1.

Once you set a custom food up, it is there for you FOREVER. So go ahead and set your own greek yogurt up per your nutrition label and then you just choose it every day.

Hope I helped.

P.S. I use the free on line version

Default The Daily Plate

Mmckellen, have you tried The Daily Plate? I use that to track my food and it's VERY rare that I have to manually enter anything. They have store brands, restaurants....lots of foods you'd never think would be there.

Check it out... thedailyplate.com

The Daily Plate was a bit of a learning curve for a few years ago but now I can't do without it!

I use FitDay as well and now I am stuck since I have entered so many custom foods.

FitDay has plenty of seriously weird stuff. Sometimes it is hard to find a normal raw vegetable among all the complicated preparations they list (with an odd skewing toward Puerto Rican recipes). And I was laughing the other day that the default size of sunflower seeds, hulled, was ONE CUP. I routinely use .06 cup and .02 cup for 1 Tablespoon and 1 teaspoon, respectively when they don't give a Tablespoon option.

FWIW, when I have to enter a custom food, it almost always comes from an entry at The Daily Plate, so they appear to have a lot more of the stuff I eat.

But like I said, I am stuck and I love it now since it has all my personal weird foods I use it to track my weight and weight goal and occasionally to run my menus through to ensure enough of everything good and not too much of everything bad.
