What types of exercise have you been doing? I'm walking 10 minutes a day. I know Dr. A calls for twenty minutes but I'm lazy when it comes to moving my tush!
I run or cycle for 60 minutes 6 days a week (or at least that is what I shoot for). I also aim for 30 minutes of strength training 3 days per week...but that hasn't been happening lately.
running my first 5k race since I had kids next weekend. My PB in training was 27:13. We'll see if I can replicate or beat that on race day.
I average about 60 min/day, ideally 6x/wk, but for sure 5x/wk. I didn't start with that much, but have worked up to it. I do water aerobics, water yoga and ride my bike.
I was reminded yesterday on the Dr Oz show that exercise helps lower blood pressure. My combination of exercise and healthy eating has brought my BP to normal. Yay!
I just started exercising regular, as in EVERYDAY. And I am up to 10 and a half minutes a day. Started at 8. So Getting there, but damn today that ten was KILLER. Oh and thats on an elliptical machine AKA the torture device
I work out twice a day, 5 times a week. In the afternoon I go to the gym w/ my mom and we walk a mile on the treadmill. Then in the morning, when I get off work, I go back to the gym and walk 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill and do 20 minutes on the treadmill. I just got a bike today, so I plan on adding that and "Dancefit" classes to my routine soon (from the description, the best I can figure is that Dancefit is very similar to Zumba).
I try to exercise at least 20 minutes every day, though once I get going I usually go longer than that. I love to walk outdoors and I have a treadmill so I can walk indoors when the weather doesn't cooperate. I got a wii and wii fit plus last winter and I enjoy using that.
I just started hooping this week and I am having lots of fun! My husband made me an adult sized hoop and I can't believe how easy it is to keep the hoop going. (The larger size and heavier weight make them spin more slowly so it's easy to keep them going.) I crank up the music and it feels like playing - not exercising. So far it's too soon to tell if it's going to whittle my waistline the way I hope, but even if it doesn't I know it's tightening up muscles underneath my flab - I can feel it!
I started exercising in my 30s because of familial high cholesterol. (I was skinny then!) It took me several years to get a consistent routine going.
For now, I bike outside with my husband for about 2 hours several days a week and do strength training (in a class or with my mom and trainer) twice a week. Other days I will get on my elliptical for 30-60 minutes. That bores me.
When it is too cold to bike, I will go back to the gym for cycling class (45 minutes twice a week) and then add yoga and pilates back (45 minutes 3 times a week).
One note - I don't work so I have not excuse not to be putting in the time.
