Default My life on the Beach-Sand gets into everything

Well chickies I am back
I have been gone for several weeks for several different reasons so now I am ready to spill my guts--yup thats right I fell off the cooler and landed head first into a sand dune full of bread, pasta, wine and chocolate Gained back every ounce I lost

So I have two weeks before I fly down to my daughters graduation which is the same amout of time I need to be on phase 1. On this visit not only do I get to spend time with dear friends I have to try and be polite to the ex -- don't see much success in doing that so at least I can look a tad thinner.

I need all you chickies to keep me straight I do great all day long it is the eve hours that plague me....especially after dinner, before bed. I need suggestions to keep me from indulging in that chocolate snack, glasses of wine, chips & dip

HELP

I was a nighttime overeater - that's a hard time for me. I found that eating my larger protein portions for dinner and dessert helps a lot! I'll even make scrambled eggs for dessert. I've been losing steadily and my nighttime cravings are all but gone.

I don't know if you are an egg lover (I am) but I like to add lf cream cheese and nf milk to make them extra fluffy. Feels more like a dessert that way.

I love your sense of humor. Evenings are bad for me too. During PH1 I spent a lot of evenings away from the tv, sitting online at my keyboard - it helped me a lot to not snack. I also really liked the turkey pepperoni at night. Maybe cauliflower popcorn would be good too. Or cut veggies. Things that take a while to eat, nibbles. Try drinking a flavored tea. Or taking a walk after dinner. And when all else fails, go to bed early.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I have the SAME problem!!! I eat small healthy meals during the day, but an hour or so after dinner I want to snack, snack, snack! I try to have a late afternoon snack and eat dinner a little later. It seems to help a bit (it's still tough though!). I know it's bad to eat too soon before bed but I feel like if it helps intake less overall than maybe it's not too bad...? Best of luck in slimming down before the event! (Show your ex what he's missing!!!)

When I first started SB is was the mocha ricotta creme that saved me. I looked forward to eating it in the evening. I sometimes added a Tbs of peanut or almond butter to it and it was fabulous and very filling. I would find a SB compatible dessert that you really love and look forward to eating. I also love drinking hot tea in the evening too.

The first thing is you've got to get that stuff out of your house, especially if your difficult time is in the evening. Once you are home it is less likely you will make a trip out to get the stuff. I personally cannot have wine in the house because I will usually drink it. Same for chocolate and the nemesis of many on this board, triscuits. Just clean out your kitchen for these two weeks and when you get home put on your pajamas right away so it is not so easy to drive to the 7-11.

Get "legal" stuff to satisfy cravings - when I want salty chips sometimes a pickle or some olives satisfies. Re: sugar cravings, yeah, the ricotta creme is good.

!!

I try to eat a bit later -- it's easy for me to bring breakfast, snack, lunch, snack to work. When I get home, I eat dinner, around 7p. By that time, it's late, I make sure I drink lots of water, keep busy so I am not eating. And when I crave something sweet, I usually eat a yogurt on Ph1. Salty? Roasted chick peas do the trick! Good luck!

I am a late night snacker too, and I have a sweet tooth. Having a "peanut butter cup" after dinner some nights got me through Phase 1.

I'm sorry and I feel for you! The wine was/is the hardest part for me. It signals end of day, relax, etc. But if I have more than one glass, it's curtains for the diet. I've been trying to drink diet ginger ale or diet tonic water in a wine glass so it FEELS more like a cocktail. I've been doing this for graduations too - I have a high school and a college one. Keep hanging in there and we'll look great in the pictures!

Yes the SB PB cup dessert saved me many times on Phase 1. There is also a recipe for ricotta crepes with ricotta creme in the middle. That was tasty too and Phase 1 friendly. Here's the recipe:
