Winter storm expected this weekend but I'm not worried. Healthy food is in the house. I've dropped from a size 26 to a 24 and I can wear a size 20 skirt! I love South Beach! I'm going to do laundry later on today. I can't wait till Super Bowl Sunday! Go Colts! I'm eating well and my outlook on life is improving all the time. Looking forward to getting a job so I can have something doing. Dish all chickies and roosters!
Good morning Okie!
It's so much fun moving down to a smaller size, isn't it?
No snow for us, but it's still cold. I'm sure hoping we'll be able to get the kids outside today. They're already excited about Valentines Day so that's part of the high spirits, and we've not been able to let them outdoors for recess for a couple of days so they're ready to explode! (Or maybe it's the teachers that are ready to explode. )
I'm the proud owner of a wii fit plus as of last night. Now I just need the wii game system. "Soon" my husband the bargain hunter says. lol
Good morning all, and thanks once again for starting us up, Okie, especially on such a happy and positive post! I'm so happy for you that the pounds are melting off, congratulations!
We're waiting for the storm as well, and I think it's supposed to start around noon. I'm all ready for whatever it brings, but I do have to run over to the store, which I dread. I forgot to pick up my vitamins yesterday, and Jake asked me to pick up a few things for him. I plan to head over soon and hopefully beat the milk & bread frenzy.
Hi, Heidi! Woohoo on scoring a Wii Fit Plus! I really enjoy mine, and actually look forward to my workouts now. I especially like the step aerobics, but most everything is a blast. I hope it won't be too long before you get the console so you can get started!

Hey all! FoodOb, I am so glad you are doing great. Isn't South Beach wonderful? Cottage, we are to get the same storm as you I think. I'm so glad I have a new pair of wellies. AND, it won't be too cold after the snow so it won't stick around forever.
Cindy - congrats on the Wii! I've toyed with the idea but just know myself too well and know that there is no way I will exercise at home. Going to the gym is motivating for me, gets me out of the house and away from the prying questions from a 5 year old (why are you upside down? why are you jumping?)
I weighed this morning...up 1.2 lbs., but I'm not surprised. What with AF just arriving, I'm storing that in one boob alone! My whoosh should come tomorrow after my body lets go of everything. I did well this week, so I'm pretty sure I didn't really gain any fat.
Also, I'm done with the decimals. From now on I'll round up or down depending on where the decimal falls. Today was 163 exactly though.
Cottage, I thought only Southerners did the bread and milk crazy thing.
Heidi, Your kids are tougher than our kids. Auston's class doesn't go out if it's below the 50s!
Mcc, I've considered not doing decimals, too, but I want to round down.
Me: My official weigh-in was today. I'm down 2 pounds my first week. I've gone from eating Big Macs to eating veggie soup. Seems like I should have lost about 10! Oh, well... I'm feeling so much thinner and less bloated. Still haven't gotten rid of the heart burn. I'm more ready for that than being in size 14 jeans! Heart burn is awful!
I'm wearing my Official Saint's Championship shirt to work today. No, it's not code, but I have to show my spirit! WHO DAT!?!
Good morning Okie. If you keep this up you may run out of creative titles! I love your attitude today
Hello Heidi - I am excited for you! Can't wait to hear how you like it. I hate that we need to get a system too.
Cottage - I hope you can enjoy the snow snug in your house. I expected to wake up to a little here, but so far only rain.
Mmc - I laughed at the part about prying questions! And the boobs. Thanks for the chuckles.
Chelby - You are moving in the right direction. Keep it up!
I am having a hard time remembering what day it is since there is no school here (something to do with the conferences this week) and I am here alone. Feels like a weekend, somehow. I work out with mom again today. Then I have lots planned to keep myself busy and not thinking about food. I will enjoy the quiet of my house but realize in the past I also liked being alone to eat junk all day. Busy good, bored not good. I know I will not cheat
LOL Chelby!! Where does the WHO DAT come from, anyway? Is there some kinda reason...I assume y'all say that for the saints...but how did it start?
Okie - FABULOUS, baby!! That's amazing! I think this is not only a great way to drop pounds, but a great way to maintain too. My way of eating is SO different then it was 2 years ago. I haven't had a fast food burger in 2 years!! I hope you'll stick around with us!
Cottage - I'm hoping for a lot of snow here! We're only predicted (last time I checked) 4-8 inches. It's so pretty when it first falls, and the reesie pup (and kids) have SUCH a good time in it .
Heidi - congrats on the Wii fit!! I've been obsessed with getting my TM miles in, I haven't been on the Wii fit much. This weekend should be a good time to, with the snow.
MMCK - great attitude with the scale!! What's more fun is when AF calms down, and the scale has that whoooosh. Congrats on the case, too!
Me - I get to give the 4-5 years olds a talk today . I have lots of good xrays that they could understand...puppies, bladder stones, and broken bones. After that, chiropractor (WAY overdue, and feeling it!), then..eh, work. I tend to think work will be slow again with the storm coming, and tomorrow too.
My eating has been great!! Yay for me!
Karen - simulpost! Have a great day, and all others to follow!
Good morning Nothing but cold expected here again this weekend.
Okie - Congratulations! It's great to hear this is working so well for you.
Heidi - Hope you get outside today. Looks like it will be a perfect day for it. Half way on the Wii Good luck!
Cottage - I'll see you tonight for wine Sounds like a good way to spend a snow storm.
Mmc - maybe you will get a whoosh in a couple of days
Chelby - Our kids are supposed to go out every day unless it's dangerously cold, hot or raining. Of course they don't and I hear all the reasons that's too hard but they are supposed to
Karen - You are a serious exerciser! Have you always been or is that pretty new?
Twynn - that sounds like fun. Wonder if any of our vets would do that. Wish I understood bladder stones better Poor little kitty seems to have a chronic issue with them.
Congratulations on the clean eating! Enjoy the chiro
Thanks for all the encouragement about the weight. It is weird because I didn't pick this weight, my body did. That's part of my struggle now. I'm going to just keep on doing what I'm doing for awhile and see what happens. I just don't have it in me to cut my calories further knowing I'd have to stick with that.
Today is a day off. I had a few errands to get done and just couldn't squeeze them in. Since I've got about 60 personal days I figured I'd just stop making my self crazy and take a day. I'm off to the mechanic and hair dresser this morning. Then I'll get my shopping done and come home and clean and exercise. We have a busy day tomorrow so it will be nice to have a big chunk of cleaning out of the way.
Happy Friday Chicks I'm looking forward to my glass of wine tonight (sorry P1 folks. soon!)
TGIF!!
The kids have 3.5h early dismissal today. I think it's dumb to get them into school and then send them home IN the snow. But I guess the reasoning is that this is one day they won't have to make up at the end of the year. The way we're blowing through snow days, they'll be in school until July. I don't need groceries, but I think I'll run out and pick up some movies this morning before it starts. If we do get 2 feet of snow, then it'll be a while before I get out again. For Christmas, I got the box set of Moonlighting, so maybe I'll break into that.
Heidi, hope you can get those kids out today! Okie, congrats on the new sizes! cottage, maybe I'll get the kids to help me mess around with the Wii Fit this weekend. Did you hear that there's more snow coming on Tuesday? mmc, good job not letting the scale get you down. The whooshes are fun!
sound like you had a good week, Chelby!
Have a great day Karen! Twynn, I'm sure the kids will love your talk - the vet is always the most popular on career day at my kids' school! They always want me to come in, but since I can't discuss weapons or show things blowing up, it would be a pretty boring talk!
Hey Cyndi, have a great day and maybe see you for vino tonight. I think I can make an exception for a glass of wine. It's 11 days now. I've been looking forward to it!
I seriously considered throwing a suitcase together last night and heading for somewhere warmer. I am NOT looking forward to this! Yesterday was Girl Scout cookie pickup as well, and the Kashi bars I ordered from Amazon (for the kids) came. I have a weakness for those, and probably shouldn't have ordered them at all. So I am going to be snowed in with goodies in the house! This could get ugly. I think I'll get some butternut squash soup going in the crockpot, and Chelby's got me thinking about veggie soup too.
ETA: Hi Kim! I'm glad the error is in your favor - that's doesn't seem to usually be the case!
FO: Congrats on your shrinking size! SB is great and I really need to get back on track.
Hi, Heidi! I hope you get your Wii soon. We love ours and I'm hoping to buy Wii Fit Plus when we're in the big city next weekend.
Cottage: I hope you make it out and back in before any of the big stuff starts. Enjoy a cozy weekend at home!
Mmc: Good for you for seeing the truth in your gain and knowing that it's just your body, not your lack of trying. Can't wait to hear about the whoosh!!
WTG, Chelby! I need to follow suit. I hope your heartburn takes a hike soon.
WaistingTime: Enjoy your workout with your Mom. I'm like you and tend to eat more when hubby is out for the day. It's a hard habit to break, but once you do, it feels great!
Twynn: WTG staying on track! Enjoy your talk with the little ones. I bet it'll be a neat experience for them and you.
Cyndi: Enjoy your errand day! I know that sounds ridiculous, especially since you have to see the mechanic, but I bet the change of scenery for a day will be nice.
ETA: Hi, Schmoodle! Stay warm up there! I hope you and the kids have a great weekend in spite of not escaping to somewhere warmer!
There's a whole lot going on with me right now! I've been a very, very bad girl eating-wise and my body is feeling it. I'm going to work on a menu for the rest of Feb. this weekend and stick with it. I'm considering revisiting P1, but I'm not sure when I'll start. Next weekend DH and I are headed to the hill country for my grandparents' 50th anniversary celebration and I leave the 22nd for a week of inspections in the remote part of our county. I may just have to scrap it and do a really good P1.5.
While doing my taxes this week, I found what I thought could have been a problem with my W-2, but my boss didn't think it was a problem, so I e-filed anyways. Now, come to find out, it was a problem and has happened every year, so the IRS will owe us $938 and maybe more if we can get the bookkeeper straightened out and get corrected W-2s. It means she'll have to do corrected ones for each employee, possibly back to 2006 AND she'll have to re-file the office reports with the SSA. I'm sure I'll have to get her through all of that somehow. As soon as I'm done meeting with the necessary folks at work, I'm going to make an appointment with a tax professional.
Well, I'm going to get going. It sure was nice to get here this morning and check in before starting my day. I hope everyone stays warm and safe!

I am afraid I will see an up in the scale this week. I havne't been bad but I haven't been good. I know I havne't gotten in enough water or veggies. I have also been very backed up feeling off and on for the last two weeks. I have increased my beans the last few days to see if this will help. If I am up I am ok with it and it will not deter me. I did figure out something I am having issues with portion controls. Those nessa oatmeal bars in the recipe section. I can control my portion control at one time but then I tend to walk by the fridge and "pinch" off a bit more and so on. Don't think I can make these again unless I freeze them. I wonder if they would defrost quickly in the microwave.
Those nessa bars are really good crumbled into a cup with some yogurt on top and then some blueberries. LOL
Ok my confession is over. Starting today I will get in my water and veggies and start reposting in the menu plan section and STICK to my plan.
I hope all of you have a great day.
FO- Woohoo on the decrease in sizes.
MMC- I gave up on looking at the decimals too. LOL I tend to just go with the whole number.
Twynn that sounds like fun. I am not sure I could be a vet. LOL as soon as my jack walks into the office they put a muzzle on him. To be so small he is pretty strong and HATES his nails being cut or anything else. My lab is clueless she once tried to lay on the needle when they were taking blood. She doens't even flinch with shots.
To all of you with the storm be safe and warm. We have lots of rain. Back yard looks liek a lake.
Cyndi good for you taking a day off. BTW I made the stormy black beans thye are yummy. I think I will make some more and freeze some for those moments I don't feel like cooking.
Last night if we ordered pizza from papajohns the kids school recieved x amount of money per pizza. So I ordered a large pizza and I didn't even want any. I did eat one pepperoni and I did unintentionally. I didn't even realize I was eating it. Actually for the last few weeks I have gotten hubby and kids fast food once or twice and I didn't even get any for me I came home and ate something here.
Heidi, maybe you can just set the balance board up in front of the TV and pretend you're doing Wii Fit?
Linda, I hope the store isn't crowded!
Mmckellen, you have a great attitude. May I borrow it, please?
Michelle, congrats on the loss! You'll get there, and you'll keep it off this time! You should try some yoga to get rid of the heartburn. I swore by yoga during my last two pregnancies.
Karen, have a fun workout with your mom!
Tammy, what are you talking to the 4-5 year olds about?
Cyndi, enjoy that personal day! I hope you have time to crack open a book!
Schmoodle, I laughed when I read about your career day reasoning. Can you imagine the looks in their eyes???
Kim, that is quite a fun surprise on your taxes! I bet that poor lady is going to be burning the midnight oil!
Tammie, Tom bought some Girl Scout cookies and I made him keep them in the car. If they were in the house I'd be fighting them all day long!
I am finished decluttering and deep cleaning the kitchen!!! It took me four and a half hours - WAY longer than I thought it was going to! I took everything out of all of the cabinets and wiped the shelves and then evaluated the contents and put only what I use back in. They're all so nice an organized now. I bet that'll only last a couple days! I also deep cleaned the fridge and the oven. Yuck! I still have to do the dishwasher, but it's pretty full of dirty dishes right now so I'll do it tomorrow morning when it's clean. What a job! I decided to wait on windows and curtains until I finish this decluttering business. My mother-in-law is coming to visit in March sometime, so I'll get Tom to help me with the windows before her visit.
I need to get my Wii Fit in and then get a shower. The laundry needs to be folded, too. Tom and I are going on our date night tonight and I'm really excited! We're going rock climbing at an indoor wall on base and then down town for dinner. It probably won't be totally on plan, but we're going to an Indian place so the worst thing will probably be white rice.
Have a good Friday, all!

Twynn - You turned into a cat! Good job on your eating
Cyndi - No one has ever said that about me before! Really. I work out everyday but am a johnny-com-lately, started in my 30s (I'm now 46) because of my high cholesterol. And I still don't think I do as much as I could or should. I don't have a job, after all... so why am I not in better shape? If you are interested, you can reach about it in my blog entitled The Life and Times of a Non-Athlete. Enjoy your day off... even if it does include cleaning! I do think our bodies sometimes dictate our weight. Sigh.
Schmoodle - Two feet! Yikes. I like those Kashi bars too. DH was buying them at Costco which means lots. Fortunately no one sold us GS cookies this year.
Kim - I would encourage you to get back to PH1 if you can... just from my own experience. This past summer into fall I gained back several pounds (after being at goal) thinking I could just do 1.5 for a day or two. I thought the cravings were gone, but then I'd cheat. I know everyone is different but this time I did full PH1 again and it has made all the difference. I know it is hard to go back, but it is soooo worth it.
Tammie - Good job resisting the fast food! I know I need more veggies too. And beans. Haven't tried the bars though and maybe I won't because they sound too tempting!
Kara - I put our Halloween candy in DS's car! And make DH hide tempting stuff he brings home. Wow - you are a cleaning, organizing machine. Sounds like a fun date tonight. Enjoy.
I must get off the computer and eat breakfast so I can digest before the gym. And check the weather forecast.
