Default Starting Phase 1 Today

I am very excited to be starting South Beach today.

I've researched many plans, and South Beach is the one for me. No measuring, weighing, counting numbers for every little thing I eat.

This is freedom.

Thank you FO,

I figure I can do it for 14 days until Phase 2. I like all the foods on the list anyway.

...going hunting for the Intro Section now.

Hi Joyce and

Here is the link for Introductions on the main site http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/introductions-8/. There you'll receive welcomes from chickies from all the forums. Your intro here is perfect for the beachers. We have a P1 thread for questions, posting meal plans and getting to know P1'ers. Feel free to join in on the daily where we discuss anything and everything.

Best wishes!

Hi Joyce!

It's great to have you here. I was drawn to SBD for the same reasons you listed. lol My life is way too busy as it is, I didn't want to have to count, weigh or measure either.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome everyone. I made a great food discovery today. Velveeta cheese is SB friendly! Only 6 grams fat per ounce so it meets the criteria. It melts so well; I've loved Velveeta since I was a kid. Now I have to create a SB cheese sauce for my steamed veggies.

Joyce, Velveeta cheese is a processed cheese that is very high in saturated fat and sodium, and really should be avoided on this plan. There is a recipe for broccoli cheese soup in our recipes section that calls for velveeta, but to be 100% on plan, you should avoid it.

cottage, I just compared the Velveeta to 2% sharp cheddar, and the Velveeta is higher in saturated fat and sodium, although meeting the criteria for cheese in the Southbeach Supercharged book. Thanks for pointing out the sodium and sat fat information!
