I wish I was able to get here earlier in the morning, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. I'm going to have to reanalyze my schedule and see if there are any changes I can make. I just don't feel like I'm really getting anything done besides work, working out and eating. I need to find some balance. Shoot. Here's another urgent project. Sigh.

Happy Anniversary, Heidi!!!

I'm off to the pool thought I'd say a quick hi

Karen, I'm interested in the CCake report. I've never tried many of the "sweet" recipes.

Rikki, have a great trip! Sounds like you're leaving soon.

 Barb, I love hearing about Brians Scout journey.

Tammie, good luck studying!

Schmoodle, I ordered a Brother serger from Costco. I was glad to hear your DH is safe in the Philippines.

Kara, I love Grandmothers' who pass down traditions.

Sophie,

Heidi58 01-26-2010 10:27 AM

Thank you all for the congratulations.

Some would say it's Fergie who deserves the medal.

I went in to school but came home again.
I was rushing around (as usual, though there was no need to rush ) and I fell down the slippery porch steps. My arm/wrist is really hurting, but for now I'm just icing it. If it's no better after lunch I'll go get an x-ray. I came down hard on the steps and I've got a nice set of bruise/stripes across my thigh, hip, back and shoulder and a bump on my head. I'll survive but I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself right now. ;) I probably could have managed school, but I've got 200+ sick days saved up and I'm grumpy when I'm hurting.

I'm typing with 1 hand - slow & frustrating, so I'll sign off for now, but I'll be back in a while.

Linda - I hope you haven't got what the girls had. Feel better soon!
Ruth - I'm so sorry about your neighbors' home. :( What a good friend/neighbor you are to offer them help while you're dealing with your flooded basement.

Kim, I'm like you - it's so hard to come in to this thread later in the morning. I love reading all the posts but replying seems overwhelming - I don't want anyone to think I'm 'snubbing' them but it's tough to respond to each one!
I'm thinking of adding this disclaimer to my signature: Please know that I love reading your posts even if I don't comment on each one.
:D

Eep Heidi! Go get an xray and be on the safe side if you can get yourself there. feel better!

(can anyone tell I am totally slacking off at work today?)

Good morning Barb. I remember those scouting days. I agree that it is hard to know when to back off. I am a bit of a helicopter/over-controller.

Rikki - Aren't we ever! I was thinking the same thing. But chat is fun. Have a great day.

Quick "Hi" Kim. Sounds like you are busy.

Debbie - they were soo delicious, and I am not even a real big cheesecake fan. I made a half batch as muffins and it was 18. I ate 3... felt guilty, but they are only about 78 calories each. They may be toooo good, if you know what I mean. And would make a great dessert too.

Heidi - Yikes! Keep us posted. It may just be swollen so ice was a good idea. I fell off my bike this summer and was convinced I had broken my wrist, it hurt horrible and I could hardly move it. I put on a brace we have at home, iced, and the next day it was much better. But I don't have good medical insurance so avoid costs... if you have a good plan, you may want that xray.

I now have a swimsuit in my future!!! I am booking my DH's surprise 50th for late April and we are going to Florida. And we will be traveling with friends and surely taking lots of pictures. Just the motivation I need:)

Barbara, I'm glad things are looking up with your situation with your uncle's estate. Congrats to Brian on his merit badge! I bet he'll have an answer ready for next time for that Star rank!!!

Rikki, have a fun trip! Where are you going?

Heidi, I hope you feel better later today but be sure to go in to see someone if there's any question. You don't want to cause further problems! Tom fell on the ice today, too, right in front of all his friends. I'm sure there will be razzing about that!

Karen, a Florida vacation sounds wonderful! Especially since we're in the midst of all this snow and ice!

Wow no way I can post personals- I think I will just drop a line so you know i am here and try and post on the weekends.

Cottage- sorry to hear you are feeling sick

Heidi- Happy Anniversary and sorry about your fall- I would get it checked to be on the safe side

Ruth- Sorry to hear about your basement- I couldn't live without my dehumidifier in the basement- when it rains hard I know I am going to have some water in the basement but it has never flooded.

Everyone else hope you have a nice day.

Lexxiss 01-26-2010 02:56 PM

Heidi, sending *hugs* your way. lol

I just think it's great that everybody drops by! I think we all enjoy hearing what chickies are up to, and I for sure understand it's not expected that we all respond to each other individually. I always read all the posts, too.

Isn't it great that we have such a busy place these days!! Keep dropping by, that's all that matters!

So happy for you, AJ! It's a big step in the right direction. I hope you feel better today-not about the scam, but about your taking control!

It's the dancing produce celebration :) Great job AJ!

Good afternoon,
Its been busy here and thanks Debbie for being so kind and reassuring that sometimes its just not possible to answer everyone. I do read them and always make a mental note of what to say but somehow when I get to typing it all disappears. I forgot to ask you what sort of serger you bought but noticed its a Brother.Have fun with you serger but mind those pins. I have a White but it needs rethreading and I haven't done it in a year so will have do consult my manual.
I woke up very late this morning which is so unusual for me and then went for my hour walk at the mall. While shopping for veggies I decided to look for some almond milk and my goodness it was on sale at $2. for organic stuff and it was sugar free. There was a limit of 6 so I got 6 but the expire date is June so I won't be stocking up on too much.
Hope everyone has a good evening
take care
Sophie

So much going on today!

Heidi- feel better!!!

aj- yeay for you! sorry bout the breakdown but its good to know we can handle things without food!

Kara- I am headed to vegas

As soon as I posted and started with my cleaning marathon I was bringing a load of laundry downstairs and fell down about half of the stairs. My back is not feeling so great again but I am going on this trip! if I have to be pushed in a wheel chair~! OK, its not that bad this time I can still walk but geez... I think I did more damage trying to catch myself than the actual falling part... On the brighter side I am taking the day off tomorrow because of it so I have a little more time to relax and heal before the trip... Now to just get everything done for the sitter and DH has got to have a hair cut tonight!

Hope you ladies have a good evening!

ajowens 01-26-2010 07:56 PM
