I'm being a domestic diva this morning before I head over to the farm. Jake did a wonderful job putting up the outside lights and little trees, but I do want to go out and make sure everything is up to my standards while he's not here. The girls have piano lessons after school, so I probably won't get home until around 7 tonight.

Cottage, it's about that cold here. I wish I could go sit in the hot tub but it's too cold...too far to run and I'm not brave enough to do it in the daylight. :)

It snowed last night for the first time but it doesn't seem to be sticking.

My husband just left for Chicago...a 5 or so hour drive. He's staying until Friday to try and finish his Dissertation, which, if he can turn in by January 1, means we won't have to keep paying for HIM to be in school too.

We have our trees up with lights but no decorations. All in time, I guess. I fully plan on leaving them up until Feb 1. I'm going to make up some story about my husband's Eastern European ancestor's traditions if anyone asks why we leave our decorations up so late. The front of the house is decorated and so is the banister of the stairs...sooo pretty. :)

Woah. If anyone woke me up at 5am to make their lunch, they would not live to do it again. :) You're a better wife than me.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! That is about the most terrifying thing that anyone has said! How am I going to get everything done? I have a big test a week from tomorrow, and then I have to shift focus to planning the big Christmas Eve service and of course, wrapping everyone's Christmas presents and cleaning the house and decorating ('cause you know nobody else can wrap presents or clean house, so I have to do that for the entire extended family)... I need some Xanax! I wish that Christmas was either a religious holiday or a secular one....gaaah. sorry. :) I spent 3 hours driving to/from my church internship yesterday and was there from 9:30am until 9:30pm, and I only got yelled at once (in the middle of an important meeting with pastor and the pianist came to get me, "We gotta practice this song in the choir room RIGHT NOW!!!!"). VERY tired today. I'm tired of eating cold SBD food, etc. :)

I'm curious what kind of dress up clothes your husband is interested in.... say more!

mine too! so funny. it's like the world will end if he doesn't use exactly what's in the recipe. But leaving the kitchen a disaster zone, that doesn't bug him a bit.

Only a couple of minutes before the next meeting but I wanted to pop in. The party on Friday night was a lot of fun. Don is a certified dive instructor and it was held at a dive shop with lots of other instructors and people who dive. I even met a lady whose older son and husband were camping with the scouts and will be at Winter camp with Brian and I. We did well in the White Elephant. Okay, the chocolate liquers are not OP but they are good! Brian had dinner with two brothers and played with them while I partied.

Saturday we got the outdoor yard art and lights up and put up the tree. So far the dog is doing pretty well at ignoring it so I think I'll throw some decorations on it soon. I did get Brian some sweatshirts and a couple of tshirts but he didn't want a warm jacket. Apparently all the 7th grade boys here are wearing tshirts and lightweight jackets. Boys!

Oh, we also went looking for laptops for him. Apparently certain ones are just not small enough or don't look cool enough. I shouldn't complain though. The one he wants is only $499. I'll probably pick it up when he is camping next weekend and then wrap it for Christmas. I'd rather get him one nice present than a lot of junk and it sounds like I'll have my bonus by the 15th so I can manage it.

Another run-by fruiting! Busy day at work! YAAAAGGGHHH!

Good news though. Created a Mii for my dad last night and he actually played with me! He liked bowling and baseball, and was not very happy with the Wii Fit Balance Board when it said "Oh. That's obese :(" while he was standing on it. He said "Thank YEWW." But, then he did the ski slalom game and laughed and had a good time. Hopefully I can con him into playing some more games sometime. He's 6'1" and 241, so he's gotta do something.

Anyhoozle I gotta get back to work. Hope you're all having a great day! :)

Lisa

Hello Chickies... sorry I was MIA over the week end, but I ended up with my headache til sat. And I did a bunch of shopping friday night, benifit sat night and sunday was spent shopping again. Today I have spent most of the day making suckers to tuck in with my christmas presents. Got to love the christmas season, makes us busy little elves. Well I wish that I could hang around longer but nap time is over and I need to clean up the kitchen and take the wee ones out to play, I will try to pop back in later today. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hello everyone,

Quick flyby for me, Ruth I can't believe they cancelled again on you, I would be getting upset about now, you are so calm.

Debbie- I hope you feel better soon, sounds like you got the crud that always seems to go around.

Busy at work and tonight is play practice again, got my walk in at lunch

********* It's snowing - hard! I got the Susan Boyle CD at the gift exchange at lunch and am going to play it, sip cranberry tee and Christmas up!**********

weezle 12-07-2009 10:29 PM

Came home from work, fed the doglettes, did some wii boxing, ate dinner, and received a phone call from an old friend of mine that after 12 years has finally gotten out of the military and has moved home!

I am quarantined to my room. I'll leave it at that. Those that know me can fill in the blanks.

47 Days til FL. I ordered the Paul McKenna 5 CD set after reading what some of the girls on here had to say about it. It's el-cheapo on Amazon, new even. Christmas present to myself. I am especially interested in the overcoming emotional eating, since I had a bad day at work today and wanted nothing more than a pizza and bottle of wine all to myself. But, I only splurged a little with a medium sized white potato, baked, with LF spicy bean dip, a sprinkle of cheddar, and a dollop of LF sour cream, plus about 2 cups of mixed vegetables and some hummus.

Hope everyone has had a nice night. Ruthie, yours sounds delightful.

Im just too exhausted to do the later personals.... but I do hope you get to feeling better Debbie!

Weeblesw... I suppose from the post if you hadn't seen a previous one that would sound funny... He has a photo shoot for the band he is in this weekend. Designer stuff, hence the cost. 2 pairs of jeans and a super nice button up...

I did well today and I am pooped. I definitely need to improve my water intake but other than that I have been right op! Went to the gym again tonight after work- I could definitely tell I was dehydrated when I started to run! I will not let that happen again!

weebleswobble 12-08-2009 12:12 AM

ah. I used to do historical costuming, so I have a very open mind that way. :)
