  • Hello,

Sorry didn't get to post this morning woke up late again 8:10 a.m. and DD2 had a soccer game at 9 a.m. so we rushed to go to that.

Then home to clean the house- it definitely needed it.

Then DS had his final football game for HS, they brought out the Senior parents on the field and gave us flowers and football balloon. It was a nice day Sunny and 56, not too bad for the last game. We met DS girlfriends parents as well today as we are taking her with us to Branson next month. She has never been so should be fun.

Then had to go and get groceries cupboards were bare. Now just finishing up laundry and relaxing with a cup of tea.

The concert last night with Jeremy and Chad was wonderful- I didn't know their music as they were last together in 1969 except for one because it is in the movie the Princess Dairy. They were very funny and entertaining and beautiful harmony.

Tomorrow is church and Bruce Springsteen concert.

Hope you have a lovely evening tonight
  • Quote: Tomorrow is church and Bruce Springsteen concert.
Wow, there's a flash back I stayed up all night to get tickets to the Born in the USA tour. It was worth it. It's been years since I've seen anyone but folk or jazz musicians. Sounds like fun
  • I took a two hour nap today and am still ready for bed! I didn't sleep at all last night. Hey, isn't that a song?

It has turned into a beautiful fall day in Alabama. It started out rainy. I was thankful NOT to be assigned to the outdoor pancake cooking task. I was assigned the money taking/greeting task. Luckily, I can smile in the morning -- after coffee anyway.

Jeff is 'watching' football and snoring at the same time. Bet he would fuss if I changed the channel...

    See y'all tomorrow!
  • Hi chicks. Had another crazy week, they are really keeping me hopping and I don't see it calming down until after the New Year if I am lucky. I did a little cleaning this morning and slapped together DD2's Halloween costume. Last week was DS's birthday, so we took him and some buddies to Five Guys for lunch, then to the farm for horseback riding. Came home, got DD delivered to a Halloween party, then collapsed on the couch with my wine. I let the boys know not to expect any dinner out of me tonight. Oh, and forgot to add that DD1 stopped by just to irritate me, her favorite hobby these days. Don't ya think 22YO is a little old to be expecting me to produce a Halloween costume for her?
Tomorrow I've got to work, but hope to take a little break to check out the Trolley Festival here in town. At least the weather should be better.

Anxious apples, funny Ruth. You do love your alliteration! Are you still coming to PA for my birthday, I mean Thanksgiving?
Cyndi, "Bruuuuuuuuuuce!" I spent quite a bit of time in line for those tickets too! Have fun Pearly! How did the stew turn out Cyndi?
Hello blessed, I don't believe we've met. I've been scarce around here lately.

cottage, I have turned DH into a butternut squash soup addict, thanks to you. We are going to Hershey next weekend, and staying overnight to do a little touring, maybe the Strasburg Railroad.

  • Good morning I think we are going to head to the ocean today and enjoy the sunshine and mild temperatures. Hopefully some interesting birds will be around too

Debbie - You're right, all my weekends seem the same lately. How dull! Wonder what I'll find to do once all the fruit and veggies are dried?! Hope you had a fun evening last night.

Schmoodle - Life sure sounds hectic for you right now. I hope you can squeeze a little time in for a glass of wine and no demands. Yeah, I'd say that at 22 she is on her own.

Chelby - Glad the fundraiser was a success!

Sarah - Hope you enjoyed your evening out My DD lives in Boston and we can always find great on plan food when I visit.

Kierie - Always nice to see you Hon. I'll be waiting for pics in that dress

Okay, gotta get this show on the road. Hope the sun decides to come visit you too
  • Wow! Busy Beachers! I'm tired just reading about your Saturdays.

Church this morning and then some outdoor work if it's dried up enough. Wet leaves are impossible to rake. l really need to get the outside stuff done this week because it sure won't happen if it gets much colder. If I can't work out there, I'll tackle a big cookie baking order that I agreed to at the last Church sale. Somebody hold me back next time!

Hey! Next weekend the time changes. Too bad it doesn't happen before Halloween so it'd be dark earlier for the kids. I still haven't bought my H. crud - it definitely cannot be red liquorice or potato chips. Maybe Cheezies and Coffee Crisp bars - two things I hate. Whoops! Too early in the day for food porn!

Time to hustle and get a few thing done before I get organized for Church. I did a crockpot of applesauce overnight and would like to buzz it smooth with a bit of beet cooking liquid to make it pink.

    Have a delightful Sunday!
  • Good morning everybody!

Yep, that's me right now. Jake's coffee is always so much better than mine. Maybe the fact that it's already made makes me enjoy it more.

Cyndi, enjoy your day birding at the shore. I'd love to be able to come along, I just love the seashore any time of the year.

Ruth, we bought our Halloween candy yesterday, and thankfully, candy doesn't tempt me. Jake always has a basket of it sitting on the livingroom coffee table. Thanks for the reminder that we turn the clocks back next week. Then I will start counting down the days until my VIP visitor comes!

I have a laundry to do today, and Jake wants a haircut. I'd like to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond for a few things, too. Then there's the usual Sunday dinner to prepare, and Monica and Carley may come out for the day, too.
    I'd better get started!
  • Yesterday was a lazy day for me. I worked on a few things for work (while cozy in my bed). Today I have to get some grocery shopping and laundry done. My fiance' comes home Friday (which i am SOOO ready for) and I've already given him a list of what has to be done when he gets home. I'm sure he's thrilled LOL. This coming week is going to be super busy for me..lets hope I get everything done that I am needing to. Well ladies I am off to start laundry and make a grocery list. I'll be back around later.
  • We are getting ready to head up to the Trolley Festival in a bit. I'm so glad to see some nice weather today. They postponed due to weather last weekend and then yesterday was also a washout. At least they will have one good day. Today is the bluegrass competition and auction. There are always some amazing handmade quilts made by the church ladies that go too high for my pocket, but it's fun to see them and help bid them up. There are also some good local artists that do watercolor scenes of the area. I am hoping one day my house will be in one of the paintings, but so far just the roof top and one corner has made it.
Then it's back home and work the rest of the day. I'm not looking forward to the coming week, but next weekend should be fun. Halloween at home, then an overnight getaway to Hershey and Amish country.
  • Good morning,

Still finishing up some laundry this morning, but need to go get ready for church. This will be our second time seeing Bruce Springsteen but last time we had standing tickets on the floor, glad to have seats this time.

Ruth even though I went grocery shopping yesterday I didn't pick up the Halloween candy yet, there is enough in the house from parades still- I will pick some of up this week, but I am not tempted by the candy.

    Cottage enjoy your day today.

Cyndi have fun bird watching hope you see tons.

Schmoodle hope you enjoyed your wine and vegging last evening.

Chelby how did the fundraiser go?

Debbie glad you have at the farmers market yesterday.

Kierie- Hope you can get some exercise in- I need to schedule a good workout this afternoon after church.

Sillyfluff- I am sure you are excited about your Fiancee coming home this week. Hope you get everything done this week.

Blessed- sounds like you had a fun time with your dd yesterday as well.

Last night was nice we just me and DD2 at home in the evening. DH took DD1 and some of her friends to the movies and DS and his GF went to the movies are their own. They all love to watch scary movies and I do not do scary. LOL

Looks to be a nice day again.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Happy sunday everyone. We had a nice time out last night. Went to a local joint -- I had a great steak tip salad. I was surprised at how good it was. It was nice to eat without having someone lay on top of you, to not have to tell someone to stop kicking and be able to sit at a BAR!

Schmoodle -- I just started SBD about a week ago. So far so good! Is the trolley festival inKennebunk? In the summer we spend a week in Maine and always go to the Trolley museum.

Welll, its a beautiful sunny day here today. A huge change from yesterday. We've gone to church and I'm getting ready for my neices baby shower this afternoon. It should be a nice afternoon. Hope you all have a great day!

Pearl -- enjoy the concert today. Sounds like a great show.
  • Hey Girls!

Seeing significant weight-loss due to staying OP and a number of "celebrations" that came in rapid succession. YES! Official weigh-in tomorrow. We'll see how Ph1W1 went.

So far, I seem to be doing well though. Lots of temptation but I've passed, even though Chris makes fun of me. "Have some popcorn honey. Don't you want some ice cream?" He's just kidding me because he eats anything he wants and is a stick. Jerrrrrrrrrk. He supports me and wants me to be happy, he just thinks it's funny cuz I weigh less than he does. It'll be a lot easier once I'm on Ph2. I don't think he really "gets" Ph1. One more week!

Got some bad news on my way home from the grocery store. A couple that I'm friends with that has been together 13 years and just got married in August are splitting up. He's my friend, and she's become my friend from knowing them both for so many years. She called me because she didn't have anyone to talk to and wanted advice from "one Christian woman to another." Apparently he's been having online affairs with 3 different women, and has decided he wants nothing to do with her anymore.

SO, I cried with her on the phone for awhile, and then had to work VERY hard at not punching any holes in the walls or driving to Decatur to kick his $%#@! I put all that energy into cleaning my kitchen, starting the laundry, and cooking Refried Bean Soup to eat for the week. Had a small bowl (delish as always!) and now am going to work a little more on cleanliness and then make cottage's Spinach, Mushroom, and Mozzarella Supreme. That will be supper.

Also got the ingrediants for the Better-than-Meat Loaf for later in the week. Will definitely let you know how that goes! Thank God for sugar-free candy. Gonna have 2 pieces of chocolate to help my nerves. Parents invited me out for beer/appetizers to watch the Bears game. BOY WAS THAT TEMPTING after the afternoon I've had. I said no.

    Good girl.

Anyhoozle, back to laundry and more cleaning/decluttering. I have less than a month before I move. CRAP. Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!!!!

    Lisa
  • Well I got my grocery shopping done. I got my laundry done. I cooked bell peppers stuffed with what you'd put in a lasagna minus the noodles and then cabbage rolls with the rest of the meat&sauce. Very tasty. This should last me through almost the whole week. Tomorrow is the start of yet another crazy week for me so I'm off to bed. I just hopped on to check my farm on Facebook...man thats addictive. Good night ladies.

Oh yea, and tomorrow is weigh in day for me P1W2. I'll let you know in the am how that worked out.
  • Fluff - ME TOO P1W2 WI tomorrow! See you in the morning! I'll tell your scale to be nice, and you tell mine to be nice!!!
