  • Something must be in the air! We didn't sleep at my house last night either. Molly the Dog started barking her head off at 2:30. Auston woke me up at 3:30 wanting to watch tv. Jeff rattled the plaster off the ceiling snoring. I laid on top of the blankets sweating and wishing for sleep. I see a nap for everyone today!

It's going to be about 85 today. We've taken the top off the old Jeep and will pick Auston up from school in it. That's always an adventure. I'm hoping to sit outside in the sun again for a while. Cool, wet weather is back tomorrow.

Cottage: We decorated cheap flip-flops for my niece's 10th birthday party. It was a lot of fun.

Schmoodle: A skunk??? That is really funny in a terrible kind of way!

Everyone else: I hope you all sleep better tonight!
  • morning everyone... no time for personals.. i slept in... wanna mention something.... ive noticed that when i DO sleep in... the scale goes down.. i read somewhere that your body loses its weight when ya sleep... when im not gettin enough, i wake up and the scale hasnt moved or has went up .4 or close to it.. the days i got lots of sleep the scale went down... so ive got to start going to bed earlier. plain and simple... im not getting enough sleep... sometimes i lay here for hours and just "think'... so im gonna go to bed tonight straight after idol... and start going to bed before 11... right now im goin at 1...2...3.... and getting up at 730... its clearly not enough. lol... have a great day ya'll. happy be-lated birthday Skinny!! glad youre feeling better Ruth!

  • Good morning!
Hello all (again!) I did finally get a bit of sleep...hallelujah! So, is Tenacity Tuesday a regular thing here? Is it just a hello/check-in day? Being new to this forum I still haven't figured it all out.

Today is Day 4 for me in Phase 1...feeling much better today than yesterday. Have even dropped a bit, which is always encouraging. Not doing anything too interesting today...the usual w/ kids, and I'm sitting for our 2 y/o niece. But it's a lovely day so far, have to enjoy this weather before it gets insanely hot!

Jenny (in Scotland)...you know, it's a project he's doing at school and I haven't even seen the whole thing yet, but he's had to write about the land, climate, people, food, that kind of thing...he's been doing a lot of internet & book research. Of course, I'd prefer to do the research in person! We do have an international luncheon on Thursday and all the kids are supposed to bring an authentic dish from their country...any suggestion for that? A friend of ours made a mince pie for us recently that was quite tasty and we found a recipe for it..."Scotish Mince Pie"...don't know if that's truly authentic, but looks easy enough! Gotta love these projects that make extra work for mom! Anyway, so good to chat with you! And yes...the Jennies are taking over the world!!!!

Have a good day to all! -Jenny
  • oh my. I haven't noticed before how many Jennys there are on this forum!

Quick check-in for me ladies. DS1 went to his grandma's this morning while DH is at work. It's nice to be able to get some things done without constantly having to tend to him. Connor can actually take a nap without being woken up!

Off to get more done - I only have a limited amount of time!
  • Hello all, quite chatty we are today.

Busy day at work so no time for personals, sounds like everyone is having trouble with timechange. I slept like a rock last night but had a very hard time getting up at 5:15 a.m. Alarm didn't disturb DH at all, he just rolled over and kept on sleeping. LOL

Well, the scale doesn't want to move, but I am not worrying about it just eating right and exercising and hopefully I will get a swoosh on the scale eventually, just really wanted it to move down since we are going to Florida next month for spring break.
  • I got some good news yesterday. First of all the appraisal on the house came in a lot higher than expected so I should have no problem with the cash out refinance. Then the Boy Scout troop voted to run the Webelos overnighter at Twilight Camp so I don't have to worry about finding a troop now.

I even saw Don for lunch yesterday and then we got parts at Lowes and he drilled out the hole and replaced one door knob and also the broken latch on the front door. I love having a handyman around. I'm taking him to the airport tomorrow and he'll be gone 6 days in Florida.
  • Thanks for the great suggestions, Girls. Audrey had actually suggested making necklaces and bracelets since they already have all the beading supplies. So that made that task easy. Sometimes it helps just asking the girls what they want to do, rather than trying to come up with an idea on my own.

For her present, I picked out a cute pattern for aprons, and another for tote bags, and picked out some nice fabrics and all the notions she'll need to make both projects. I hope she likes them!
  • thanks for all the bday wishes
  • I just got back from the store where I stocked up on more SB foods. I really needed to have a full pantry of appropriate foods to really get me in the right mindset. I got tons of beans, fresh and frozen veggies, hummus, sf jello..

    I'm excited now.
