Good morning Chicks It's going to be a chilly one here today but it's almost March so spring can't be too far away. I've got a fun midday outing planned. Our Co-op has kids cooking classes during school break and I'm helping out at 2 of them. I thought it might be a fun way to get caught up on my work hours.
What's on your agenda?
ETA - I'm first!
ETA x2 - Zeff here's the company that makes my 2 favorite coffees: http://www.piercebroscoffee.com/ Red Eye Express is a food bank blend and fogbuster is one of their signature blends.
Cyndi - Sounds like you have a fun day ahead of you! I would love to do a cooking class for kids. What do you plan on making with them?
DH is still in Atlanta, so i am alone with the boys. We have an outing to the library planned and maybe a visit from some friends. Still to chilly to take them outside for long. I am so ready for the warmer weather so that we can spend the day outside running around.
I am planning to start exercising today. Wish me luck.
You beat me, Cyndi! I got involved in serious dog cuddling with my first coffee as I fed the woodstove a wee breakfast to get it going again.
Twittering Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Pancake Day, whatever - it's plain old Tuesday around here but it'll be capped with a darned Pancake Supper before I go to a meeting tonight. I will indulge but will keep it in check. Five of us are going from our Church to show support for another area Church. (One hand washes the other and we are going to be having events to raise money for the roof.) There'll be beans, cole slaw and cheese besides pancakes so it may not be too bad.
It's supposed to be sunny today and the sunrise is looking good. It's still going to be well below freezing though and more snow is on the way. I know Spring will come because it happens every year but it's hard to believe at the moment.
40 days to Easter!
Have a terrific Tuesday.
ETA: Have a good Tuesday, Mythreesons. You don't have a location in your profile but you can't be as cold as we are here!
Cyndi, you beat us to it! Thanks for getting us started this morning. Do you have any of that Red Eye brewed today? I hope you enjoy your cooking with kids class today, I'd be right in my element. What's on the menu?
mythreesons, I can hardly wait to get the kids outside to play again, too. I'm just counting down the days until Spring and warmer weather. Enjoy your day at the library with the boys!
It's brutally cold here, but it's going to be sunny. Maggie was home sick with a cold yesterday (she caught mine!), so I had to go in early, and we spent a quiet day doing jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, and reading books. She was well enough to take to her piano lesson, though, and afterwards she and Audrey were running around the house like a bunch of hooligans, so I'm hoping she can go to school today. That will give me time to get some errands run and tidy the house before she gets home at noon. We don't have anything planned yet for this afternoon, I'll have to see how she feels. We usually have some type of Mardi Gras celebration and make Faschnots, but I think we're going to skip it this year.
Wow, I've been rambling on long enough. I'm going to sit back and pour myself another cup of coffee and give the rest of you a chance to chat.
ETA: Good morning, Ruth!

Hi chicks, sounds like busy Tuesdays all around. I'm just popping in for a quick hello, and them I'm on the road to work and won't be home until dinnertime. I'm so spoiled from telecommuting that these commuter days really take it out of me now. One benefit is it's easy to stay on plan because I take my food with me, and I'm never tempted to hit fast food anymore, ick. I'll get in a run to my bank and Trader Joe's on the way home, if I have time. Have a great day everyone!
cottage, my mom brought us some homemade faschnots. I'll admit I did sneak a bite.
Happy Mardi Gras! Fat Tuesday! I was in college out of Louisiana before I realized that Mardi Gras wasn't a national holiday! People were getting out of bed and going to class. What the heck??? There is a petition going around to make Mardi Gras a national holiday. It hasn't made it to Alabama, because this transplanted CoonAss would sign it!
If I can teach my sweet 5 year old that just because he is awake doesn't mean that I have to be awake, I'll consider my life a success. Okay, that might be a little dramatic. (In the loudest whisper you can imagine...) "MOOHHHM, CAN I WATCH DIHHHSNEEEY?" Okay, Grandmothers, tell me I'll miss it someday.
Cyndi -- Have fun at your cooking class. That sounds like fun.
mythreesons -- I hope you have great fun exercising. I really love it.
Ruth -- Pancakes and cole slaw, must be a Canadian thing.
Chelby, believe me, you will miss it one day. They grow up too soon.
Faschnots are donuts, deep fried in lard and rolled in cinnamon sugar. And yes, they are pure FOOD PORN, and I will abstain!
Chelby, the Oak Leaf Church ladies will be spreading a feast. There will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, syrup, sliced ham, baked beans, cole slaw, those darned Jello salads, cheese (a must in this county), pickles and homemade pie. If Rhea makes her pecan pie, I will really be in trouble as I limit myself to one slice a year and already had one ten days ago! I have a meeting after this event and will probably be in a carb coma - not that the members of the Cemetery Board would notice!
Cottage -- He is growing up faster than I ever imagined. He was a tiny baby just yesterday. Okay, let's have another baby. Just kidding.
Ruth -- Your feast sounds wonderful. Pecan pie wouldn't tempt me, but if there were cherry, I'd be in trouble. The members of the Cemetery Board aren't lively?
morniing all...i'm getting ready to take a really long bus ride on friday. never took the bus anywhere in my life so 8 hours seems long to me. probably not though.

That song makes me cry, too. I'm sure I will miss the things that make me crazy every day. He really is a sweet, good boy.
I LOVE Trace Adkins and have seen him in concert twice. The first time I saw him was at a little cowboy bar in Birmingham. I sat on a barstool with my BFF Carla. Trace hit one of those low notes. LUST! He vibrated my thighs from across the room. Any man who can vibrate my thighs from across the room is THE MAN!
