Default think i may be overdoing nuts

is it really that bad to eat both a serving of nuts and 2T of natural PB in a day? nothing satisfies me like celery and peanut butter but 15 almonds is such a wonderful snack when im running around campus and work. do you all think im sabotaging myself? ALSO! my husband gave me half a choc. chip cookie today, normally, i would have eaten it but today, i took a little nibble and decided, "eh, its not that good..." and gave it back. i know it seems silly because hey, i still had a bite, but i didnt finish it. thats pretty big for me!

That is great that you didn't eat more than a bite of the cookie. WTG!

I am not sure the exact repercussions of too many nuts. However, I love celery with laughing cow cheese on it. Just an idea for something different.

Well, the repercussions of eating too many nuts are that it will slow your weight loss - I know this because I've been there. Nuts are high calorie and weight loss is still calories in - calories out. The beauty of SB is that you don't have to count those calories if you stick to the recommended servings. However, I sometimes eat more than the recommended amount of nuts when I am on Ph1, or having one of those pre-TOM starving days. The way I look at it is that eating too much of an on-plan food that will not cause me any cravings is better than eating something off-plan that will cause me to eat more bad stuff in the long run. But I am aware that it will slow my weight loss, particularly if I do it often. Another danger is that it will replace some of the other things you should be eating - most importantly veggies. So if you are still getting your veggies in like you should, it really comes down to how it affects you and whether or not you are okay with that trade-off...

I wouldn't eat both everyday, maybe more of when you are in a pinch... how about some hummus on your celery? or the laughing cow cheese as m3s said is delish!

I have found its just better for me to not buy nuts, and restric my peanut butter... definitely slows my loss!

On SB you are supposed to get in 2 Tbs of healthy fats, like olive or canola oil daily, plus you can have the nut serving daily. If it was me, I would just skip a fat serving if I ate an extra nut serving, so you really wouldn't be eating any more calories and both provide you with similar nutrients.

Nuts and seeds are limited to one serving per day and peanut butter (2T) is on the list. So you can have either nuts or PB, not both.

Calories do count and both nuts and PB are pretty high although they are good fats.

You can also eat a half a serving of nuts and a half serving of peanut butter.
