  • I'm done with my two week stint on Phase 1 and I lost nearly 8 pounds! Yay for me! Now I'm ready to move to Phase 2, but scared, so taking the advice of pros, I'm easing my way into it. I don't want to post food stuff on Phase 1 thread because I don't want to make the newbies' mouth water, so I'm here. Feel free to join me!

Last night I had 4 oz of red wine. It was so yum. This morning I weighed 234.8!
  • Congratulations on completing phase1!!! AND 8 pounds! WooHooo!!!

The first thing I added back was apples -- one apple a day for a week. Then I started adding back grains. My second week of ph2, I added ww tortilla wraps. I'm week 6 of ph2, and I'm still careful of my grains because I KNOW they will be dangerous for me.

Try a roasted sweet potato. It's like dessert after not eating sugar for a while.
  • What does it say for me that the first thing I add back is Red? LOL! I bought some SP yesterday and I plan to bake one tonight. I tasted a partially cooked carrot the other day and discovered they are sweet. I look forward to my SP! I also have to trudge back to the library to get the book!
  • Wow... I first read that as "40 ounces" of red wine... I was thinking that you must be a champ!

Congrats on the P1 loss, and good luck moving forward!
  • Swan! LOL! I don't think I'd have made it to work if I drank that much! LOL! Thanks for pointing out the error - I fixed it
  • i also discovered i really like sp i make them in the microwave in 10 minutes....ya know cause i'm to lazy to bake them. strange i don't even seem to miss the real kind and that was my main comfort food
  • I'm also on Phase 1.5 having skipped Phase 1 entirely. This is because the last time I did it, my blood glucose levels kept bottoming out. I'm Type 2 diabetic and have a problem with hypoglycemia. This is Day 3 on Ph. 1.5.
So far, I haven't added anything that isn't on the Ph1 list, probably because I'm eating more veggies than I did the first time around, keeping my BG more stable. It's nice to know that I can, though. I will probably add an apple diced up into my morning porridge starting tomorrow.
  • Welcome, Linda! What is porridge? I know the nursery rhyme, but I've never figured out what porridge is, exactly.
  • Phase 1.5?? what does that mean?
Still new at this, and had a very bad past 2 days.
Would anyone be willing to post a typical day on Phase 1 or 1.5
On phase 2 is wine the only alcohol beverage that you can drink. (don't like beer) Was wondering about a mixed drink (diet soda)
Thanks..If anyone is willing to help me out, I'd appreciate it.
    Thank you.
  • twilight... porridge is oatmeal hun... old fashioned name. i still call it porridge, my kids do too. guess its all in how ya grew up. like i call cotton candy, candy floss lol.... my kids wont agree on that one tho. lol.. gotta go, IDOL is on,,
  • Hi LJ, Phase 1.5 really doesn't exist. It's just what we call the transition between ph1 and ph2. When I was on what I called ph1.5, I added back apples for a week. The next week, I added back a whole grain. I hope that helps. Why have you had bad days? Can we help?
  • Thanks Chelby....the past two days have been stressed filled...and then when I read the book ( I have both) for Phase 1 it states 3 meals 2 snack and sometimes (these past 2 days) I needed more, a piece of string cheese wasn't going to do it....so I gave into temptation of the sweets calling my name.
I will restart tomorrow...already blew today, really!!
Feel like I need a drink just to calm the stress.
Again, thank you for reaching out to me, it's appreciated.
  • When I was ph1 and really needed a sweet, I would put a tablespoon or two of peanut butter in a bowl, then mix a tablespoon of sugar free maple syrup in it. It is delicious and satisfying.

Don't be scared to share your stresses and struggles. We are all here to support each other.
  • One more question, before I call it a night...does anyone journal their food intake...
    Have a good evening, all.
  • I don't. I don't want to journal or measure or count points or calories. That's what I love about SBD. Following the guidelines leads to weight loss. By the way, that's just my opinion.
