Good morning ladies, I'm trying to do Phase 1 for a few days. Noticed that I have let some things creep into my WOE and as I am up 10 lbs from last year; need to start working on getting things right again before things get worse. Have been doing SB since June of 2003 but a refresher never hurts and with summer coming don't want to buy new clothes. Onward and forward.

Mythreesons - I found day 2 and 3 to be the hardest for me. I also found that SF Jello was the bomb and I don't know if I would have been it through without the Jello! Good luck to you! You can do it!!!! :D

What is WOE?

Chelby29 02-17-2009 11:14 AM

WOE = Way of Eating

Oh, our texting generation!

Ruthxxx 02-17-2009 11:18 AM

Check out the Acronym Sticky which I just moved here from the FAQ.

TwilightMom 02-17-2009 11:19 AM

I'm a texter, and I'm usually pretty good at figuring them out, but I guess I was having a brain fart. *phhhttttt*

dreaminstacy67 02-17-2009 01:09 PM

twilight... im a texter too... i actually met my husband on a cell phone chat site 7 years ago. i remember when i first started i thought ppl (people) were being mean to me lol... someone called me bb... i thought 'how the heck does he know that im big and beautiful?????" lmao only to find out that it meant baby lolololol... we had alot of fun and i met alot of nice ppl on there. we have met several in person that we chatted with over the years... some nice... some strange lmao... john is from georgia, im in hamilton ontario canada... i told my mom that he was comin up to meet me.. she flipped out! said 'what if hes a stalker? crazy? etc"... i said heck mom i can meet them in a bar right down the street lol.. so i took the chance, he came and we've been together ever since. he has 2 kids, samantha 17 and john jr 16, and i had kenedie 11, and now we have 3 more together, chloe 5, brady 4 and savannah 18 months (named after his home state)... i think back at all the ppl who said not to do it, and i look at my kids now and thank God that i didnt listen to them! we often sit and look at each other and wonder what if... its kinda spooky. back them not very many ppl were doing it, now its the norm lol.. i still go on that chat site now and again, ppl are amazed that we're still together after all this time. there are only us and one other couple that actually made it. but none have all the kids lol. oh! one more thing... took me 2 years to get pregnant with kenedie, had to go on fertility, the dr told me that i probably wouldnt have anymore kids... met john and got preg with chloe almost right away, 2 weeks after she was born wa pregnant with brady (not joking here!) and 2 yrs later had a miscarraige, then got preg with savannah right away after that! so it makes me think that this was meant to be. :) anyways... now that ya'll have read my novel lol... i'll let ya go... stacy xx

Chelby29 02-18-2009 11:05 AM

Stacy -- My hubby is doing SBD with me, too. It's perfect! For a while, I was beating him on pounds lost. He didn't like it. :) He's winning now. Darn cycle!

mythreesons 02-19-2009 08:16 PM

So, I go to a weight loss group every Thursday, I have been going every day for the past 3 weeks (although I only started the SBD on Monday). Since I started 3 weeks ago, I have lost 9 pounds.:carrot::carrot:

I think I am going to change my ticker to reflect that weight loss *runs to change*. Okay, now I like the look of that!

I am excited to see what my weight loss will be after completing a week (or two) on the SBD. I am so happy to be seeing results!

mythreesons 02-19-2009 08:20 PM

Well, Day 3 went okay. Talked myself down from making horrible mistakes at dinner and stayed OP all day. I ate more almonds than I should have but I figured it was either that or a cheeseburger so I made a good choice. :)

11 more days until I can have a freaking apple!

And how sweet it will be! :)

Congrats on no cheeseburger! :carrot:

MomPOM 02-20-2009 08:32 AM

It's kind of funny the things I'm looking forward to in a week and a half:

Apples, oranges, breakfast cereal (only the healthy stuff. :) ), whole wheat bread.

dreaminstacy67 02-20-2009 08:37 AM

funny thing is... i forgot we could have porridge in ph2! lolol yaaaaaay lol.. i havent really liked it since i was a child but yaaaaaay lol i'll like it now!

TwilightMom 02-21-2009 10:53 AM

I am up a pound. It's ok, though. You learn from your mistakes, right? I weigh myself daily, usually, so it could just be water weight, but still! Anyway, I've decided to start a blog or something to keep a record of my food consumption. I also need to start exercising. Ugh.

uscarchie 02-23-2009 11:36 AM

Ok, I've been on Diet Hiatus for a while (BIG BAD IDEA) but I'm only up a few pounds from where I left off, so I figure it's time to get back on the wagon. So: Plan for the day-
B: 2 eggs, 1 c. green beans, 1 cup coffee
S: 1 thing of low fat yogurt
L: 2 c. spinach, 4 slices chicken breast, 2 zucchini that I'll microwave with a touch of salt and pepper and olive oil
S: 1 string cheese stick
D: Dunno yet- I'm thinking a hearty salad with some grilled buffalo steak? If I can get to whole foods and if they have it. Otherwise I will grill up some other meaty thing like chicken.

Also, my mom sent me a bread machine that'll be coming in the mail this week for my birthday (eeek, not what I needed to start off another P1 journey). Any suggestions for some high fiber, high protein bread machine recipes? Or good places to look?

TwilightMom 02-23-2009 11:41 AM

I have no suggestions, but I am on the same boat. I have a bread machine, but have no idea how to use it for SB stuff.

I got tired of all the soy, chemicals & sugar in commercial/bakery bread so I bought a Zo mini bread machine that makes 1# loaves. Anyways, at the same time I ordered from Amazon two FABULOUS bread machine cookbooks:

Bread Machine Magic & More Bread Machine Magic

They are terrific: each recipe is for either a 1#, 1.5# or 2# loaf to accommodate all bread machines, super easy instructions (I had never baked bread before and all my loaves have come out perfect), LOTS of whole grain recipes as well as a lot of breads that have veggies in them that you could customize to make them whole grain.

I highly recommend this book. Also, if you order from Amazon thru 3FC (click on Store tab) they get credit for it. Happy baking! :)

ETA: Every bread recipe has nutritional stats per slice so you can easily see the high-fiber ones.

TwilightMom 02-23-2009 12:14 PM

Thanks for the info! WooHoo! :carrot:

uscarchie 02-23-2009 12:51 PM

Alright! That sounds delicious! And sneaking veggies into your bread? Genius! I think I'll have to get baking.

uscarchie 02-24-2009 12:12 PM

Hi all- Day 2, so far, feeling fine. B: 2 eggs, green beans, a bit of sausage and cheese left over from last night
S: Yogurt
L: Caesar salad with chicken
S: Hummus and bell peppers (I made some beet chips which cost me dearly in terms of blood.... don't use a vegetable peeler to make chips!)
D: Spinach salad with avocado and chicken

Didn't weigh myself this morning, so I'll do it tomorrow and see where I'm at.

TwilightMom 02-24-2009 12:24 PM

Uscarchie - Sounds like you did well (except for the blood part). I hope your digits are ok, today! I wish I liked avacados and hummus. I could add in so much more variety! I weighed myself this morning and I'm down .4 pounds. Weighing yourself everyday can be dangerous, but I'm a danger kinda girl. So long as you don't let yourself get bummed over the days when the scale looks back at you and sticks it's tongue out before showing that you went up 4 ounces, it'll be alright! :dizzy:

Keep up the good work and you'll be at goal before you know it!

Ruthxxx 02-24-2009 12:32 PM

Beets are not allowed on Phase I - even with blood! I hope you heal fast.

Chelby29 02-24-2009 12:57 PM

Beets aren't allowed on ph2 either, right? I love beets....

uscarchie 02-24-2009 05:17 PM

Drat- I thought they'd be a healthy new veggie to try. They're pretty good, I'd never had them before. Okay, well, then, just the bell peppers.

I had wondered about the natural sugars in beets but thought that the rooty vegetableness of them might be okay.
