Good Morning..... Got payroll all but finished, only thing left is to send the information!
My son called last night. They got a kitty last night and getting another one today. The one that will be his roomies is black, my son's will be orange. Upon further investigation I unveiled the orange is identical to my Gideon. My son loves black, but I believe this is why he is taking the orange one! Gideon was the best, the smartest, a hunter, the greatest cat of ALL times! Told him I'm jealous of his being able to have kitties.
I hope everyone's plans for Thanksgiving, the preparations are going well. I miss catching up with everyone, luve to you all.
Loriann, congrats on the new grand-kitties!!! I miss having a cat, but with all these dogs, it's pretty much out of the question right now. The 3 puppies we have left are getting big. We never found good homes for them, so I guess they are staying.
No prep here for Thanksgiving...which is weird. I usually start cooking a couple of days ahead of time. Just painting and more painting. Got my bedroom done yesterday evening and it looks great. We'll spend one more night in the guest room and move back in tomorrow, then start again with the living/dining room. I'll be happy when this is over. The paint fumes are just gross.
Spent a couple of hours last night taking my kitchen and bathroom apart to give them a good scrubbing. Since school started I haven't been able to do that.
Headed to the gym in a little while then will spend some time with a friend today....a nice semi lazy day while paint drys.

Lori, I'm glad you finally got that payroll business all straightened out. And at least you'll get to visit and play with your DS's kitties.
Cat, enjoy your day with your friend today!
I'm going to go help Cindy get the house ready for her Thanksgiving buffet this morning. She's having around 40 for dinner, and although almost everyone will be bringing a dish, it will be a lavish event. The rental people are coming today to set up the tables, and I'll have to be there to direct them. Jake and I are invited to the dinner, too, but we're having a houseful ourselves.
Maggie has a playdate with a friend this afternoon, and Audrey is going on a trailride with Cindy if the rain stops. Should be a quiet afternoon.
Loriann How early do you get up? You seem to be ultraproductive while I am still sleeping!! I go to bed early, so should be getting up earlier, but just can't seem to do it!
Femme My kitchen and entire house needs a thorough scrubbing and cleaning. UGH!! Glad that your painting is almost done.
Cottage I love your smiley face after the houseful comment. I know how you love your family time!
Me- School today and then 5 days off! Woohoo! We will be going to have the Thanksgiving buffet at my DH's hotel on THursday. This will be the first holiday since my FIL passed away in June and my DH wants us all to be together. Since he has to work, that is where we will be. Not my first choice as I would prefer to cook up a storm and have a houseful. Not everything is about me, though!
Friday is my daughter's birthday. We are having the party at our house this year with a Camp Rock (Disney movie) theme. The girls are going to wear their pjs and bring a stuffed animal for a night of fun. It should be great and she is SO excited! We are going to make pizzas, bracelets, dance, and be crazy girls!
Okay, need to get some breakfast down the hatch and get in the shower. I am trying a barbell fitness class at the gym tonight. Should be entertaining if nothing else!
Kiko, I go to bed at 11 and up at 4.... lay there till 4:30 . um, not sure if I can say that I go to bed at 11, which I do, but I hit the couch about 8 and usually fall asleep off and on throughout the evening before turning in at 11? hhmmm, roflmao. I'm a morning person, never been a night person!
Lori, I'm with you. I get up at 4 also. My husband has to be at work at 5, so I've just gotten used to it. I'm a morning person too. I get so much done in the mornings. This morning, I've already touched up paint in the bedroom, emptied the dishwasher, did the kitchen floors, made up guestroom bed and did the floors in this study/sun room. On work days I hit the gym at 5 so I can get to school by 7 and don't get home till almost 5, so don't get as much done here on those days. I just love seeing the sun come up anyway!!
Lorian, I fall asleep on the couch a lot but I seem to be getting rid of my dumb automatic wake-up at 5!
Cat, you certainly deserve a day off after your painting flurry. Enjoy!
Cottage, open the windows and blow the aroma this way when you cook that turkey. I think they should make a perfume out of the smell of it roasting.
Kiko, your "different" T-Day sounds like a good choice. The first holiday without a family member is hard so it's good to change the routine.
We had snow overnight - finally the greys and browns are covered. The Doggage were quite excited as neither of them have seen a snowfall - just a few flakes. It's supposed to turn to freezing rain later which isn't as thrilling.
Gotta jet as I am off to do another hour of Bible reading in half an hour and need to wear something other than my red flannel paw-printed jammies - and maybe brush my hair.
Lori - I love new kitties - they are just so darned cute. Of course then they grow up and run your life....
Cat - How are things going with the not so new school? Enjoy your day watching the paint dry
Cottage - Sounds like another bust week
Kiko - What a great birthday party idea!
Ruth - no snow here - we got lucky and it's still in the high 30s. It's nice to be able to sleep in a little and with your busy days I'm sure you can use the extra hour!
Just another day here. I'm in the office most of the day and then we are all off to the former director's home for an afternoon tea get together.
Yesterday I discovered local squash for $.69/lb at one of the grocery stores. Now I have several squashes in my back hall
Time to get moving (I'm late again!). have a good day all
Loriann-congrats on grandkitties... and finishing payroll, seems like a tedious job for you!
Kat- your gym looks like so much fun, doesn't look like a sweat smelling place lol Good Luck with finishing your painting quickly- and I am very impressed by how much you have done already!!!
Cottage- wow she is having 40?! I can't imagine- although I think that would be soooo much fun! I get super excited when there are even 10 together-that rarely happens because my family is sooo small!
Kiko that sounds like a super fun Party!!!! and here's hoping your school day breezes by and you can start enjoying your time off!
Ruth- I bet people would be very entertained with your flannel jammies Love watching the doggies play in the snow! especially when they don't know what to think of it! Although, we rarely ever see snow here.... Enjoy your day!
Cyndi- great deal on the squalsh, I rarely every find local stuff around here- guess thats the difference between living up north and here... more chain stores here and cooler more unique places there I love to try new restaurants when I am up north-all we have here really are chains with the same ol same ol.
Me- well, trying to decide if I am heading back to the doctor today or not... she said to come back if I wasn't better by Monday and its Tuesday and my back still hurts. I think with the steroids it was supposed to be better. sheesh. my sides seem to hurt a bit now too, not sure what that is about. I have stopped taking the pain relievers and have just been taking the relaxers, they seem to do the trick, but I am out of them after today so maybe I should go back. *sigh*
On my agenda otherwise today is just to pick up some things from the grocery store that I am making to take for Thanksgiving... not going to do the whole weekly trip I usually do since we won't be here a couple days and have plenty we need to get rid of as-is! Going to put my bean soup on now! catch up with you ladies later!
Morning girlies! Oh my gosh, I'm a whale. This week is just horrible for me, food-wise. I worked Sunday (our anniversary) and we went to dinner to celebrate. I worked yesterday, work today, and have a meeting out of town tomorrow, and am trying to get things packed up here and other things taken care of at the duplex before we move Friday.
Tom got the living room painted, and we have a lot of extra paint so we've decided to just paint the dining room and kitchen the same colors to save money. Hey, it's pretty. Why not? So he's got that left on his plate.
Little Guy is going with Grandma down south for Thanksgiving to play with his cousins instead of helping us move. We thought that'd be a little more fun for him.
And the other thing is, OY! I've decided to sell Mary Kay. Like I needed something else to do! No, I do not want a pink car (no offense to those with the pink cars, but I'll take $900/mo over a pink car any day.) I just looked at the amount of money I spend on makeup, skin care, moisturizers, shower gels, etc, and it's A LOT. If I sell Mary Kay, I get to buy it all at wholesale (50% off) and write it off as a business expense. Also, half-priced Christmas gift sets.
So for right now, I'm doing it part-time, and seeing where it takes me. I'm a makeup junkie, and eventually I want to do the esthetician/massage therapist thing (Tom and I want to open a spa someday) so it kind of fits right in with what I want to do. If anyone wants any Mary Kay, check out my website!!!!!!
Dang, gotta get Tom up. He's just been exhausted with all the painting. Gotta go! Talk soon! Sorry I've been MIA!
Loriann - now you will be able to relax with the wretched payroll done. Kittens sound adorable.
Cat - that looks like a very elegant place.
Cottage - wow, 40 guests. I would love to be a fly on the wall to see the buffet table, is it Martha Stewartish?
Kiko - enjoy your buffet there will be many more opportunities to cook.
Ruth - you would be very trendy here in your jammies. I have seen so many kids at the mall dressed in what looks like pj pants.
Cyndi - squash will keep forever in a cool place. They really like their squash in New Brunswick and a long time ago I visited a place that had about 150 squashes lined up against the wall.
Rikki - Hope you get well for the big day.
Me - still without a kitchen sink but should stop whinning, its not like I have to go to the next village to get water. I wish I was able to go shopping in the U.S. for Black Friday. Last year when we were driving back home we stopped at Birchrun Mall and I got a Jones of New York coat, cashmere and wool for $120 and there was no tax. So many bargains so little money.
Good day to every one.
Sophie

Good morning, everyone! Day 1 of Thanksgiving break for me and I'm so excited!
Lori: Aww, new kitties! I'm allergic, so we'll probably never have one, but they sure are cute! WTG getting payroll done so efficiently! I'm sure it'll get easier as the weeks go by.
Cat: You're right; that is a neat gym. I wish we had something like that out here. Enjoy your time with your friend! Nothing like waiting for the paint to day with a buddy!
Cottage: Dinner for 40?! Thank goodness Cindy has help! I bet the girls are the belles of that feast! I'm more of a stay-at-home-make-it-all-yourself kinda gal. Not that I'd ever have the budget for 40 people a year! Enjoy your busy day!
Kiko: Well, you'll be together and that's what counts. Although, no leftover turkey dishes for a week does sound like a bummer. I'm sure it will be enjoyable either way. Your DD's birthday party sounds like it will be a BLAST! Can I tag along?
Ruth: I love watching puppies in fresh snow. Our dogs get pretty spazzed out about it! I think the paw-print pj's could be a new trend. And we all know bed-head is "in" on the runways! Have a great day and stay safe!
Cyndi: That's a great deal on squash! Is it for decor or for cooking (or both?) I'm dying for some butternut squash soup, but we haven't gotten any in for a while. Hope you have a nice day at work and at tea!
rdw: Awwww, ! I wish your back was better. If it were me, I'd probably head back to the dr. It just seems like this has been bothering you far too long. Hope that, whatever you choose, the back pain subsides SOON!
Me: Well, our bags are packed, the dogs bags (yes, plural) are packed and the car is full of gas ($1.77 a gallon; can you believe it?!?) I woke up earlier than usual, which I normally do when we're going on a trip. The dogs were nice and cozy in front of the wall heater and barely lifted their heads when I got up. Then, after I had showered, made coffee and got breakfast, I had to literally shove them out the door. Stinkers. They'd better enjoy it! They've got a 7-hour car ride ahead of them!
I'm doing my best to get prepared now for the next few days. The parents love to spoil us with good food, so I sent a request of lots of eggs, turkey bacon, salad and veggies. They prefer chicken and fish, so we should be safe in the protein department. I'm going to make enough ww biscuits tonight to last us the week. That should have us set. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm slowly trying to transition back to SBD. I've been relying on my Slim Fast shakes a little too much since September when I started taking them on business trips. Time to get back to REAL food!
Well, I'm off to check the bank account and make sure we're going to have $$ to make it home! Have a great day everyone!!
~Kim
ETA: Hi Sophie and Lisa! We were simul-posting! Hope you both have a great day!!

Lori - Good job getting payroll done. And congrats on the new family kittens!!!
Cat - Your home is going to be so beautiful when you're done. Enjoy your day off today!
Cottage - Forty people to host for a dinner sounds so overwhelming. I know she is so grateful for all of your help. Enjoy your quiet afternoon.
Kiko - A dumbbell class at the gym sounds like a lot of fun! And so does your dd bday party!
Ruth - So why all the Bible reading (not that it's a bad thing). Is there something going on at your church. I hope the freezing rain isn't too bad.
Cyndi - Tea at your boss's....will that be fun??? Hope you're able to do something great with the squash.
Rikki - Sorry to hear that your back is still hurting. I think you should head back to the Dr.'s again. You don't want to have chronic pain. Take care of yourself.
Lisa - Do you ever stop!!! You are a crazy one. Good luck on your moving and new venture!
Sophie - Hope you get your sink in soon!
Kim - WW biscuits sound so good. I wish you the best on getting back to real SBD food. Hope you're able to get out on the road safely and without incident. Good luck!
Me - Well, I made my statements to both of the insurance companies. Apparently, when the other driver called her insurance, she promptly said "my car went out of control and I hit her." So I don't think there will be a question of fault. Which is good that i don't have to fight it. I was able to get a rental car as well yesterday...and it's the same as my injured car......I call her Lucy2. Last night I made a pecan pie (at my sister's request) and cranberry sauce. Tonight I will prep more veggies and I might make the asparagus bread pudding.
Today at work I'm sitting in on four IEP's!!!! Not a fun way to spend the day. It'll be LONG!!! But there are no meetings tomorrow, so if I can get through today.....it'll be smooth sailing!!!!
Have a great Tuesday, Ladies!
BLESSINGS!
Good morning ladies,
My warm applesauce with yogurt and almonds sure is good this morning.
The kitten is hiding underneath my bed and won't come out. I think one of the other kitties must have been mean to her. I hesitate to write it, but today should be a fairly calm work day. Tonight I just need to decide what I want to make for Thanksgiving. My assignment is appetizers and desserts. I know I will make a pumpkin and an apple pie. I think I'll do shrimp cocktail and a warm crab dip, maybe some devilled eggs. It all depends on if I've got the ingredients here, because I do NOT want to go near the grocery store.
We are not going away so should have some time to catch up on stuff around here this weekend - maybe start a little Christmas decorating, if I get in the mood. DD really needs some winter tops, so we might do a little shopping, but I want to avoid Black Friday.
Nessa may be coming up this way on Sunday to do a dog training thing, hope we can squeeze in a meeting. I'm going to try to talk her into swinging by my house. Or I can meet her in town.
My DD1 seems to be "in love" today according to her facebook. That can't be good. Things have been too peaceful around here lately, I guess.
weezle, you are quite the entrepreneur! rdw, hope you are better soon. Maybe your side muscles are sore from compensating for your back. Cyndi, that is a great squash deal. I needed some for Thanksgiving, and they were out at the farmer's market, so I got them at the grocery store - $1.49/lb!!! And squash are heavy! I wish I could find them at that price, I'd buy a lot for my new root cellar.
Happy snow day Ruth! Sounds like a great excuse to stay in jammies and bed-head all day. Loriann, glad you got your payroll done and don't have to stress over it. Cat, you must have the energy of a teenager. I am always exhausted just reading about all that you manage to do. cottage, I'm sure your house will be a much better time than the lavish buffet! Kiko, you are sending those girls home for bed in their pajamas, right? If not, bless you and I wish you the best. How many and what age? So glad we seem to be past the big birthday party age here.
Look at me, I got through personals today!
ETA:
Allright, Sophie, Kim and Hmac, you gals messed me up! That's what happens when it take half an hour to type a post. Kim, have a great time with your family! Sophie, you couldn't pay me to go out in that Black Friday mess! Heather, thanks for the reminder, I think I'll do some cranberries too, so I've got some NSA stuff for me. Wish you could sit in on my IEP. I've got one coming up.
It took me forver to get on - it kept giving me a server busy message
Things seem to be a bit calm today for how long i'm not sure.
Schmoodle hope everything works out with your visit with Nessa - where has she been hiding?
hmacgood luck with the car situation
Kim have a safe and happy thanksgiving. take pics and post them on your blog

Cat i checked out your gym website seems like a cool place - how far are you from Shreveport?
Hi Loriann
Tomorrow is dh's birthday and he was wanting some home made cookies so tonight while he is at bowling i will make him some oatmeal raisin ones other than that i want to try to get in a jog on the treadmil if my crazy fractured foot will allow me and then end the night watching the biggest loser.
