We probably all have these - I've had thousands but this morning's took the cake.
I always give my dog salmon oil, usually by cutting the capsule in half and putting it on her food. Today I got "smart" and punctured the cap with a skewer. Worked fine except when I squeezed it, the puncture was facing me. I had salmon oil all over my freshly made up face. Does that stuff ever stink!
(I could tell you hundreds but that'll do for now.)
I burnt my ear with my straightening iron last week, right after thinking "Gee, I've been really lucky not to burn my ear with this contraption yet because I bet it would hurt." Boy did it ever!
I had a 28 lb bag of kitty litter in my left arm/hip, had a small bag of something in the right hand, reached up to close the hatchback on my minivan...so I yanked it down really hard like I normally do....onto my right shoulder.
*DANG!** that hurt. And how in the Hades did I manage to do THAT?!?!
twynn you just reminded me of when I was being picked up to babysit when I was younger, got into the car, the window was rolled down, I wraped my hand around the door frame which would have been above the window-pulled.......................
and it latched!!!!! with my fingers in it! It took me a good 10 seconds to realize what I had done and I that I had to actually pull the handle on the door to get it open!! OUCH... however, nothing broken but I had bruises that were polka dots for a good week or so... DUH!
One reason I rarely carry a purse, but keep a small wallet in one pocket and my keys in the other:
I had my car in for service and had a loaner car. I put the keys to the loaner car in my purse, then decided I didn't need anything in my purse for the errand I was running, threw the purse in the car and locked the door. Had to call the dealership to bring me a spare key.
Oh, I remembered a good one! How about a year ago when I was toasting two slices of bread in my toaster oven, reached in to carefully remove one and burned the top of my finger on the inside top of the oven. OUCH!!!!
Cursed, shook it, rinsed it off with cold water, and went to carefully get the other side out with the other hand..... burning the top of a finger on my right hand on the inside top of the toaster oven.
I had to go to Stratford (about 40 miles) for a drs appt. I needed him to fill out a form for the head office of my work. The office is in Stratford. I neatly folded it and put it in my purse. I then proceded to drive around Stratford, shoppng.
Now I'm home ... on Remembrance Day ... wondering where I can fax this thing from ... to Stratford
I felt pretty stupid explaining a (really mild) black eye I had this summer - I got up at night to use the bathroom, bent over in the bedroom to pick up something on the floor, and rammed my cheekbone into the top of a wooden chair back. I couldn't even say I ran into a door . Hey, it was pitch black in my room!

I did an almost identical thing at that age! I only got one finger caught, not the whole hand - but the 10 seconds of "wait, what just happened?... OW!" and having to open the door to get it out, but somehow not breaking anything... all the same. I've always felt so stupid for doing that, glad to know I'm not alone.
And then there was the time I got ready for work in a hurry, wearing one of my black power suits. I decided to go through the car wash and luckily glanced down. I had on my black slip but no skirt. I was a tad late for a meeting that morning.
