Hi everyone,
Glad to see there is still a Phase 1 thread going. I was on Phase 1 last January and did well, but for whatever reason, just quit the program. Now I'm back and my husband is joining me on this venture so we're hoping to make it a lifestyle change this time around!
I'm on Day 2 today and stayed OP. I made the meatball casserole for dinner tonight. Yesterday we had the taco bake. When I taste these wonderful recipes I wonder why I gave it up?
I honestly think it's cuz I gave up planning and then started grabbing the wrong things to eat. So I went grocery shopping yesterday and loaded up on all sorts of ingredients to make many of the Phase 1 recipes. Thanks for letting me unload -- good luck to all of you

back, Westiesam. Yes, we do have some yummy recipes. I need two hands to count the number of folks who have asked me for the Taco Bake recipe. Along with devilled eggs, it's my pot-luck stand-by.

Hi Westiesam.. sorry I didn't say hello before - but welcome back

Ruth, how does one make devilled eggs? My chooks are laying eggs at a great rate of knots and I could do with a fresh lunch idea.

Marianna, devilled eggs are basically hard boiled eggs with the yolks removed and mashed up with mayo plus whatever you want to add. I add chopped onion, dry mustard, chopped ham, pickle etc. making a sort of egg yolk salad. Then I put the yolks back into the eggs and garnish with whatever. It's really not a recipe.
Here's a picture but mine are usually a bit fancier as I pipe the yolk in with my tube thingie and use parsley and red pepper to garnish.

Thanks for the welcome-- Day three just starting for me. Ruth - I never thought of deviled eggs -- I love them. Definitely going to make a batch of those tonight. I might do some of the egg muffins too so it takes less time in the morning. Do you ever use the cream cheese or ricotta cheese muffins on Phase 1 for breakfasts?

Hi all, I'm at the end of the second day of week 1, Phase 1. Today was a little easier than yesterday, although I'm having trouble with snacks on the go.

Also since I have two little kids, I'm still giving them carbs, and oh is that hard! Nothing screams snacks like handing over some Dora animal crackers. But so far I have stayed strong! Pass the willpower!

day 10, P 1. and i'm going to make it. it's actually making me feel good, when i can figure out what to eat for dinner. it's the hardest meal for me to figure out, because we used to rely so heavily on carbs. but i feel much better than i did.

Hi Everyone -- It was day 4 for us. We made it through our headaches yesterday. So far Day 2 was the toughest for me. I've been trying to make different foods each day so we don't get tired of this. Tonight I made sphagetti squash and served the meatball casserole over it. That and a broccoli salad really hit the spot.
I find that I'm really focusing on food more than I normally do, but I think I remember being that way the last time I did Phase 1. I'm looking forward to the day when this becomes natural and normal.
Keep up the good work everyone.

HI everyone! I figure I may as well jump in here too as I am restarting p1 as of a couple days ago- today was day 3 p1 and things are going fine. I am also inputting all my info into calorie king to see how many calories I am consuming... SO, my plan for tomorrow is this-
1 egg with veggie bacon and coffee with lf milk
string cheese
leftover shirataki noodles with tofu
dinner is undecided- maybe cabbage soup or something with cabbage- I have that or a spaghetti squash to work with the next couple of days!!! lol

Good morning everyone : )

It's so nice to see familiar faces as well as new ones, looking forward to meeting you all. A breif intro about myself, I am new to the SBD and very happy with it. Today is the last day of week3 for me. I'm in the transition state. I feel soooooo much better and so glad I started this plan and found the support boards here, everyone is very nice and helpful. I did feel a lack of energy and tired at the beginning but that has now passed and I am feeling much more energy.

Hi Marianna , I hope your studies are going well. THose deviled egges Ruthie and you mentioned sound mighty good, I havn't made them in years and forgot all about them. Thanks for the idea ladies.

Dcapulet, wtg! keep it rocking : )

Westies, npace, homemade and rdw1 Sounds like everyone is doing great, keep up the awesome work!

npace, your already past those first few days which is awesome! Good for you for resisting those snacks, I bet thats hard having that temptation there, especially in the beginning. keep up the great work. For snacks, maybe slice some cucumber sticks, h.b eggs, etc. I have learned so much here already. THe ladies were talking about those lettuce wrap thingies and I love those....sort of took and takes the edge off of any carb cravings for me. Take a large lettuce leave and put your sliced turkey, chicken, l.f cheese or whatever you want as a filling that's SB freindly and wrap it. I put mustard or low fat hellmans mayo and like mine with chicken or turkey with some chopped tomatoes and onions in it.

Westies, wtg on day 4 or is it 5 now? I so know what you mean about thinking about food like that, etc. think most of us experience that. I felt so much like that too, like can't wait until it becomes normal and not think about it so much. It's gotten so much easier in that respect for me already but it's still soon in the program for me and I know it takes some time to get ingrained. I plan my meals a few nights in advance and that really helps. That dinner you made sounds yummy : ).

I hope you all have a great and successful day, keep up the great work
