  • a toast to a new day!

It's still dark as midnight and I have no idea what kind of weather today's supposed to bring. I know it's cold, though! OK, the weatherman just said it's 49*, I'm glad I remembered to bring in my African violets off the porch!

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers yesterday. Dad came through the procedure just fine, and is starting to feel better already. I think most of the family finally got a good night's sleep last night, I know I did.

I'm probably going to have to go see the girls off on the schoolbus this morning, and Maggie and I have a lunch/playdate this afternoon. Speaking of boxes, I have to find a box for a care package that I'm getting together to send to Caitlyn.

Time for a refill! I hope your day is bright and sunny!
  • Howdy all Its funny logging in at night time and seeing the daily thread starting up as I am considering going to bed

Cottage.. I am glad to hear that your dad is fine. Much love to you all as he recovers

Well, I am exactly 4 weeks away from graduating university today and it feels a tad too close today given the amount of work I have to complete - but pretty exciting at the same time

I am so glad that I started P1 again. I have been making sure to eat every 3 hours and I haven't had a hypoglycemic attack at all. Which is a refreshing change from the past few weeks. So fingers crossed that it stays that way

Night to you all and I hope you all have a lovely day
  • Good morning, Cottage, and sleep tight, Marianna. Cottage, I am so glad to hear the good news about your dear Dad, What a relief to you all!

Cold outside this morning at 34ºF but Disney and I are cozy inside. She makes very quick potty trips these days. I don't know how she'll manage when we get our horrid winter temps! I think she'll need a wee coat.

Not much on the agenda today except the continuing outdoor tidying. I have some big boxes and intend to pack away all the empty pots until spring. If we did get a killing frost last night, there'll be annuals to pull out as well. Donnie, the yard lad, hasn't been around for months so there's lots to do. He's not exactly a keener but does owe me four hours of work so I'll see if I can round him up. He suffers from chronic social failure.

Apples are drying at the moment and my fingers are still intact. The thumb is also back to normal although I sure will have a scar. I never imagined that cut would heal in three weeks.

    Happy Tuesday to everyone.
  • Cottage glad to hear Dad is doing well. have a good day. I wore a jacket to work this morning and drove in the dark. yuck.. can't we have summer year round?

Marianna... hi i'm glad you are feeling good on phase 1!

Me: taking girl child at 3 for a therapy appt for the first time. ah teenage angst.... still looking for a dog. work is work... nothing changes.... weigh around 210....
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Ruth simulposting.... glad your thumb is healing... and Hannah is a quick go girl too!
  • Good morning

Cottage - Glad to hear that your Dad is doing better and that everyone got a good night's sleep! Enjoy your play date today

Marianna - Hello Nice to meet you I've found this way of eating really helps keep my hypoglycemia under control. 4 weeks until graduation - how exciting!

DP is doing much better today and we had 5 hours of sleep last night so everyone is cheerful this morning I hope this time she continues to improve.

Work is quiet so far but we are prepared for whatever may come. I'm just catching up a lot after being out so much last week. Meanwhile back at the SBD ranch I"m taking a few days off from the grains. I've gone up a tiny bit and don't want to change my ticker so back to basics for a few days!

Have a good fall (or spring!) day everyone
  • Morning ladies!!

Cottage....so glad to hear your dads procedure went well. Still keeping him and your family in my thoughts!

Ruth...glad to hear the thumb is on the mend. I just came in from playing with my dogs before leaving to go to work and I'm sweating. It's warm, muggy, and the air is filled with mosquitoes. Not very fallish at the moment here....a cool front tomorrow though!!

Nessa....good luck with the girl child!! Have you looked on petfinder.com for a dog? That's where I found my greyhound mix. A great site!!

Cyndi....glad to hear DP is on the mend...wishing her a continued recovery!

For me...the date Friday night went well...haven't set up a second meeting, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. Monday night football last night just about killed me....my poor Saints...still love 'em though! sunday was just awful...had the worst migraine I've had in years and it completely drained me. So work yesterday wasn't my best day...but I just don't like to call in and take a day off when I don't have to. Now, if I can find someone to cover my patients for me and still enjoy my day...then so be it...and that's what's happening this friday!!! I bargained with myself...if I suffered through yesterday at work then I'd take Friday off...so that's what I've done...YAY....Silly how a simple day off from work can make you feel so good?!

    Happy Tuesday everybody!!!
  • hey Cyndi... it's a constant vigilent battle isn't it?

Mandy, I've looked at petfinder.. but we have a lead on a purebred landseer puppy from a newf rescue... he's only 10 months old and we have our fingers crossed.
  • Good morning everyone and good night to Marianna, I'm at my dtr's today babysitting my beautiflul 15 month old Grdtr. My dtr has highspeed internet what a change from my sloooow speed at home. The little icons actually dance! lol. Oh well, I better be thankful for what I have. It is cold here in Southwesteren PA but a beautiful day. Wll take myself and Grdtr for a walk when it warms up.

Cottage, I'm so glad Dad is improving.

Marianna, for a moment I thought you worked nightshift then I discover you live in another hemisphere!

Nessa, have a great day at work.

Cyndi, you are an inspiration. How long did it take to lose your wt?

Have a great day everyone, may be back to chat later. I have to take advantage of this high speed.
  • ((Cottage)) Glad your dad came through ok!

    Have a good night Marianna!

Ruth, come on over for a cup of coffee! I have to get Jade out for a walk today. She's getting antsy, last few days haven't gotten her out because of sharp, and I mean sharp pains!

Nessa... hope you find a dog to join your home soon! Good luck!

Cyndi...So glad to hear DP is feeling a little better, and sleeping!

Mandy, glad you had a good time Friday... and sorry to hear of your migraine! Sometimes I get them and they last three or four days, putting me right down on my back!

Me: Didn't get anything accomplished yesterday due to sharp pains and headache. Today I hope to get out for a walk and tackle this paperwork. I HAVE to get it done! No word on the job front!

    Have a great day all!

ETA: Simulposting Carol! and to the beach!
  • Cottage - Caitlyn is going to really appreciate that care package. What a thoughtful thing to do.

Marianna - Congrats on graduation. My DH is graduating with his PhD in December...I forgot how expensive it was!

Ruth - I envy your chilly temperatures. I crave a warm sweatshirt and pair of socks! There must be something about yard kids, my FIL's yard man does the same disappearing act.

Nessa - I'm not looking forward to teenage angst....

Cyndi - Morning! Have a nice day.

Carol - have fun babysitting. 15 mos. is such a fun age

Mandy - glad the date went well. The Saints did well last night...I can't say I'm too disappointed, the Vikings were my team first DH was VERY upset though...

Lori - Sorry to hear about the pain. Hope you feel better today!

    --

Still packing. Last night we went through two old trunks that were FULL of stuff from DH's undergraduate years...he saves every little thing. We had 3 garbage bags full of crap. It will be nice to use those trunks for what they were intended....linens. Beautiful cedar chests.

Listed a TON of stuff on Freecycle last night and have people coming all day today to pick up. I love freecycle, but it irritates me how many people use it just to ask for stuff. There are very few actual listings for things.

DS is getting very suspicious..he keeps trying to put things away after I pack them. He does seem excited though.
  • Wow I need extra stong coffee this morning, this darkness is pulling me down.

Cottage glad your dad is doing better, continued prayers for him.

Marianna & CarolColleen glad to meet you both and happy SB is working for you!

Not much on my plate today, the usual work, followed by the Biggest Loser and of course the debate.

    Have a great day ladies!
  • Good morning everyone,

Sounds like everyone is having a good day today.

Cottage glad to hear you Father did well.

I did something stupid last night, I signed the wrong part of the truck title so I now have to get that straightened out before I can sell. Yikes!!

    Have a great day today.
  • Good morning all!!! Happy Tuesday!

Cottage - Glad to hear that all went well with your dad. I hope it stays that way!

Marianna - Welcome to the chat. I hope you sleep well and have a good day tomorrow on Phase I.

Ruth - Depending on the mood of my pups, they'll either be real fast pottiers, or they'll really take their time. I hope you can find your garden guy and get him over to help you get your annuals in.

Nessa - Good luck on the puppy search.

Cyndi - Glad to hear that you're getting more sleep these days. I hope DP continues to feel better. Way to be proactive!!!

Mandy - Glad to hear that date number 1 went well. Are you still planning on meeting up with the 2nd guy. I hope you find yourself with a full calendar in the next couple of days

Carolcolleen - Enjoy your time with your granddaughter and and the high speed internet

Loriann - Sorry to hear that yesterday was a wash. I hope today is much better.

Zeff - Glad to hear that the move is coming along. I'm sure DS will get used to it after the move actually happens.

Stephanie - I'll be watching Biggest Looser as well. I hope they have a good challenge tonight!

Pearlrose - Hope you get everthing figured out with the truck!

Me - My exercise program on the cable is not working today so I missed exercising this morning. Bummer!!! Feeling a little better today. I just hope this isn't round one in a 3 round battle with a cold. I need it to get better quickly. We've got Back to School Night tomorrow and I don't want to have the sniffles while I'm meeting with parents. Anybody watching the new Vampire series on HBO, True Blood? It's really good. Tonight will be quiet as dh has a softball game. Maybe I'll get some reading in.
Hope you all have a good Tuesday!!!
    ENJOY!!!!!
  • Good morning, everyone. I read all, but I can't respond one by one!

I did well with phase 1, then fell right off the very first week I started phase 2.

I'm very slow to get moving this morning. On my way to exercise - it only happens once a week, on my "day off" though I'm going to have to work this afternoon.

    Have a good day, everyone.
  • zeffryn -- what does your ticker mean?
