Default breakfast wrap?

Just was wondering if anyone has tried making a breakfast burrito and freezing to be popped in the microwave later? I was just thinking how nice it would be to just pop comething sbd friendly out of the freezer into the microwave on my way out the door- breakfast gets skipped a lot of days bc I just don't make time for breakfast in the mornings!

Any advice on how I may want to try to do this would be appreciated!

Question Hmmmmmm.......

I have never tried anything like that, but it would be convient. Maybe some of the other ladies will have good ideas for you! I have heard about people freeze quiche cups and reheating in microwave. I haven't tried that either, but that could be cause I don't own a microwave! LOL

I've tried it, but without success. The tortilla was always gross by the time the filling got hot. You could probably heat it in the microwave though.

What I do when we need super fast breakfasts is cook a few days worth of eggs at a time. Season them and stick them in the fridge. I usually put the onions and peppers in the eggs. When I need to make a burrito (which is one of our favorite things for breakfast), I just take a tortilla and put some eggs, salsa and cheese in the middle - throw it in the micro for about 30 seconds - roll and eat!

It takes just a few minutes total in the morning to make three.

yeah, I was actually thinking if I could grab it out the door and then heat at work... I may try a few things... maybe if I made the burrito the night before and just put into the fridge instead of the freezer. that way I could make a bunch of eggs like you said before and then just roll it up in a paper towel the night before and pop in the micro in the morning... hmmm...

I know it's not a wrap, but I make a whole bunch of egg muffins at a time and throw them in the freezer. I pull out 2 the night before, put them in the fridge and when I get to work I throw them in the micro for about 30 sec. They always turn out really good, and not rubbery.

I have done that a few times, but egg muffins aren't my favorite

Hey, Rikki, you could - in theory - make the egg muffins and season them the way that you like. Take one out of the freezer, nuke it and then smash it in a tortilla and top with whatever.

That would take no time at all and would be quite portable - especially if you had all the topping/filling ingredients and tortillas at work. Just grab the egg muffin out of the freezer and bring it to work.

Zeff, you took the words right out of my mouth. I was just thinking the same thing. Particularly if you had in the muffins oretga chilis, jack cheese, and salsa. That would be really yummy!
