Default Wednesday Humpday Chat

Morning, everybody!

I have a million things to do today, but first I'm just going to sit here and savor my coffee. I DO have the first load in the washer, and when that's done, I need to start packing for my long weekend with Ruth and Laurie. Hmmm, what can I wear to make me look 15 lbs. lighter?
I have to make sure the house is in good order and that Jake has everything he'll need for the time I'm away, too. He's pretty good about taking care of things, though, and he's used to me going off, so no worries there!

I started on my million things yesterday but only managed half! My suitcase is packed and I'll load the car with the dog stuff when it gets brighter. I want to get to Ottawa shortly after ten so the dogs get a chance to settle in before I take off for Syracuse. Disney has never been at the farm so it'll be interesting to see how she does. Hersh just loves it - cats and pigeons to chase!

Won't be back online for a while unless there's access at the hotel tonight so behave yourselves. Somebody has to be good and it's not gonna be me!

Awe, you girls have a wonderful time together!

Me: I think I need to replace the toilet sooner than I wanted. Yesterday three times I'd come back to the bathroom to find the toilet still running, filling. Couldn't get it to stop one time. And another time I couldn't get it to flush at all.

Frustrated, no matter how good i am, I always go back up to 180.. last week back to 184 this am back down to 181...WHY does it refuse to go down??????

ETA: Any word on Bagel and Pocket?????

Mel, exercise! The best thing for baby is the chance to do what you need him to do. When Joe was a baby, I'd say a GOOD 95% of his awake time was on the floor, not being held, not in a jimmy jumper, or a walker, but on the floor. He learned to crawl, walk etc at early ages. Sit him on your lap facing you, and then outside to the outside world (living room, etc)... This will help strengthen his back muscles.

Good morning chicks!

Ruth and Cottage - I'm jealous! Have fun and travel safe! I'm sure we'll all hear stories!!

Cat - hope work goes well!

Lori - freakin' toilet. Ours keeps having problems too....

Me - BORING week at work, but today is supposed to be packed. Went shopping yesterday (had the afternoon off we were so slow!) and I'm having a hard time finding pants that fit well! I guess everyone is supposed to be stick thin and no curves. Sigh. I did find a FANTASTIC dress the other day, I think I might be posting a before and after pic with that dress!! My husband LOVES it!!

Hope y'all have a good day!

Good morning chicks, sorry I have been offline for a few days. Just wanted to pop in and say "hello." I was in NJ yesterday for a meeting and things have been hectic around here. I've got to get the kids off to school, do some quick banking and return my rental car, but I'll BBL to visit some more. I may have to run a hamster to the vet too...
The scale is my friend this week.
Ruth, Laurie, cottage, have a wonderful visit! Wish I could be a fly on the wall.

Ugh good morning. I just had a sudden awful feeling and realized I haven't paid this month's rent. I need to pop by there today and take care of it. I can't believe I did that! I went on vacation, went down south, and the 1st was Labor Day. It completely slipped my mind. I've never done this before. It makes me feel sick.

What a great way to start the day. Tom was up at 4-something because he couldn't sleep, and came back to bed at 6. I'm going off my bp meds for a few days. Even cutting my pill in half yesterday, I still tried to pass out all day and had to come home from work early. Hopefully going off it for a few and then cutting my pills in half will help.

Well, gotta start getting ready. Hope everyone has a great day!

Lisa

I think I am going to need some of those Spanx to come back to work in January...I have gained A LOT in the last month and now I am scared. I had done really well until then. SIGH!!

Went to the OB yesterday thought and besides weight everything else is very healthy and normal. She is measuring exactly on target, weighs about 4 1/2 lbs according to dr., is head down, and my BP is great. Two more weeks and they won't stop it if I go into labor! How insane!! I don't have high hopes of going early and honestly would like to keep her cooking until at least 39 weeks so she will be as healthy as possible. I have the feeling I'll be 41 weeks and have to be induced.

Will be a quick morning as I have meetings 9-11. Finishing up a product this afternoon and then I am out Thurs/Fri from the office because of a video shoot. So I am "off," but I have to work Thursday, Friday nights and Sat morning--and drive an hour each way to get there. BLECH. Need to check on turning in mileage.

Happy Wednesday!

Cottage, I'm packing a lot of black clothes. Let's just stand next to the bear--he'll make us look think and nearly hairless. Can't wait to see you and give you a in person!

Ruthie, I spent half the night packing...but I forgot to turn the dryer on this morning! I'll have to do that during my quick run home between the gym and Theology on Tap tonight. It has one more piece of black clothing! Hope Disney loves the farm, too...bet she'll have a blast! I'm bringing my laptop so we can keep tabs on the Beachies (not that they'll need it... ) and I'm sure the other mods will be poking their heads in.

Loriann, have you tried putting your food into fitday? Are you exercising? We can only restrict what we eat so much--but exercise helps immensely! Hope you can break the 180 barrier soon! Have you thought about checking out the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for your toilet? They stock used or surplus construction materials and though I'm sure you don't want a used toilet, they might have one that someone bought but didn't use and donated. Their stuff is very inexpensive and the money goes to a good cause. It's like Salvo, but for DIY projects! They have one on the 414 between Corning and Watkins Glen, but maybe there's one closer to you? Here's a list of the ones in NY.

Cat and Christie!

Can't wait to see the dress, Twynn! I find that Dockers Metro pants fit really well (and I have tons o' curves...I could put a baby on each hip and have room for more! ) and Lee has some great pants, too. But I feel your pain. My problem is that most pants these days are low rise or "just below waist" which makes the "waist" right around the fattest part of my middle. If I buy pants that fit there, they are HUGE everywhere else.

Wish you could be there, too, Schmoo! Hope the hamser is okay--they're so little that it's so scary when they're sick! Give it a gentle pat from me. Congrats on the scale!

Oh, Lisa, don't feel bad about the rent. Obviously the office wasn't upset about it or they'd have contacted you by now. I know I'd be upset too, but it's not worth beating yourself up about it. Have you talked with the doc about your bp meds? Hope you get it worked out.

Thanks for the good wishes, Gonna! I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well...what an awful way to catch a bug! Hope you rest and take it easy.

Nessa, I'm so sorry things aren't going as well with Bagel. Times like this are so very hard, but know that you're in my prayers and that we're all here for you, okay?

We promise, KO...don't want to let you down, you know.

Jessie, don't stress, okay? I hear breastfeeding is the BEST diet ever! Just eat healthy and know that it'll all work out. My super skinny-minny SIL lost all her weight after the baby, but she said that her hips might not have moved back into place as she still couldn't fit into her pants. So if you have trouble later, you can always say it's the same thing, right? I'm SO glad your little girl is healthy and doing well. Hope she keeps "cooking" until she's ready. Can't wait to see her, though! Know she'll be gorgeous like her mom.

Me: I'm all excited about our trip, but am also worried about last minute niggles (as Ruth would call them). Lots to do and pack. It seems the more time goes on the more chargers and cords I have to pack. This time I'm bringing our new laptop, so I'm going to have a ton of electronics on me! Think I'll leave the iPod at home...

Gym after work today and then a quick evening of taking care of the dog, shower, make/eat dinner, finish packing, and throw it all in the car before speeding to Theology on Tap where a dear friend is speaking about dating/marriage and spirituality. As soon as it's over we're on our way to the town where I'm flying out EARLY tomorrow morning. DH and the pup are staying over with me, which is a treat. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Play nice in here, okay?
