  • Here comes the sun after all that rain yesterday! We survived without any damage, although my internet kept going out. We did get a LOT of little niggles done around the house, though.

Today we're going to close up the pool and tidy up the yard. There'll be time for a visit with Mom & Dad, and I have the usual laundry to do. I'm sure Dustin and Andrea will be here with the grandkids for supper. I just pulled a chicken out the the freezer to roast. We heard from Caitlyn last night, she had been on a canoeing trip all week as part of her curriculum, and she's settling in very well and is happy, so all is well.

I'm keeping Hershey in my prayers, Ruth, and hope she's feeling better.
  • Thanks for the good wishes for my darling dog. Hershey seems a bit less lethargic this morning although she had just a few nibbles of kibble and no water. Last night my neighbour Liz came down with pizza and some wine and she did deign to eat a bit of the crust and drink some water. We'll watch and wait today. Little Daisy is rather upset, it seems, so I need to give her some extra TLC.

I'm so glad to see not too much affect on my chickies from Hannah. She will hit the Maritimes this afternoon and we'll have to worry about Little Chick. After that we'll worry about Ike! What a month!

Quilting class yesterday was fun. There are just three of us in the class right now so we have one on one teaching from Nellie and lots of time for socializing as we work. Last year's class was huge and you really only got to know the person whose table you were sharing.

Skipping Church this morning to do dog observing but will try to do stuff in the house part of the day. The food dryer will work on apples and grapes today although I do have more tomatoes out in the jungle. I have free pears from Claire and free apples from Liz so will be all set for fruit in my oatmeal this winter.

No time for personals but sure was glad to hear that Kim got to the doc and some treatment and that the rest of the Southern Chickies are safe. I'm assumung Mandy is safe, warm and dry in AK.

Hope your day is safe, warm and dry.
  • Good morning, ladies! I'm letting Brian sleep a little longer this morning and then we've got to head over to the church. Today is the first day of Faith Formation and we didn't get the letter telling us what classroom he is in. They cashed the check so I'm assuming we are on the list (and hope we got the time we asked for).

I badly need to get to the grocery store. I'm out of eggs and eggbeaters so I think I'll do a phase 2 breakfast this morning.
  • Good morning all

Cottage - Caitlyn's program sounds like something I would have loved. How fun!

Ruth - Glad to hear Hershey is a little better. Hope she continues to improve.

Barb - Have a good day.

Well it looks like we will have a dry day today for Julie's birthday Unfortunately she isn't feeling well so it will be a low key day. We've decided against any long drives tomorrow so I promised her a day at the coast when she's feeling better. Those of you who are diabetic know know that it's better not to rush things when you've been under the weather .

I have a tech question - suddenly my forum posts aren't wrapping so I'm having to scroll all the time. Did I change a setting?

Today will be filled with the chores left undone yesterday I also didn't work out at all yesterday with all the household and caretaking stuff so plan to double up today. Such an exciting life

    Have a good day all
  • good morning

ruth I hope hershey gets better.... it's so scary when they are sick and can't tell us what's wrong.

today is shopping and laundry for me and gaming this after noon at a friends house. brian went to frederick to see schmoodle. ha no he's there racing.
  • Morning,

I'm getting used to some new medication and I didn't sleep very well last night, but my body should adjust in a couple of days. The good thing about it is I can't take it on an empty stomach so I have to eat breakfast every day. I tend to want to skip that meal.

    Have a great Sunday, Beachers!
  • Glad to hear everyone is safe after Hanna. Not sure yet what is on my plate for today. Spent yesterday moving my SIL who has more crud than anyone should! 3 Uhauls later we still were not done! There is one good load out there today but all the big stuff is moved.

What an NSV though, I was the smallest person there who moved the heaviest stuff with the least amount of complaints and no pain this morning. I was nicknamed the Beast yesterday by the family LOL.

I need to get MY house cleaned and laundry done sometime today. Eating has been HORRIBLE Friday and Saturday due to helping her and just "grabbing and going" back to it today!

    Have a great one ladies!
  • Glad you are feeling better Kim. Don't worry about that house now, it will keep!
Ruth, hope Hershey (my favorite virtual dog) is back to normal soon.
Nessa, I wanted to ask you if Brian ever came up to Mason Dixon Speedway. That's so close to my house - you should come with him if he ever does and hang out with me.
Cottage, I am so glad Caitlyn seems happy and is settling in. I remember when my niece went away she was on the phone with her mom in tears every night and threatening to get on a bus and come home. It took a couple of months but she adjusted and did very well. My DD was nervous but it took her about 5 minutes to figure out she was going to love it.
Cyndi, happy birthday to Julie and hope she is better soon. Does she eat beachy with you? SB has done wonders for my diabetic DH.
Belle, eat your breakfast girly, and hope you adjust to your new med soon.
Barb, you and Brian have a great day.
Go Steph, you beast! It's very nice of you to help out with the move.
Glad to see Mandy is back safe and sound.

I've got plans to get together with friends today for some crabs, then go to the pool for a swim. We're volunteered to help close the pool and today is the last day, so we'll have to put in a couple of hours this evening. I'm not sure about the crabs and swimming though, DD is not feeling well, and I'm afraid she's coming down with something.
  • It's a beautiful day today. Looks like my USB card in my computer finally died - after being in like 4 diff computers in the past. I guess the card is old seeing as they don't sell Stratitec brand anymore, must've been a reason - hmm.
So, can't get a new card cause I got no money, and I have to bug my mom to get me one I guess, and she probably won't. I'm sick of my crap breaking or dying and me not having money to get new cause nobody freakin hires anymore. I swear these businesses keep it up with not hiring I'm gonna have to go mental to get on state, LOL
  • Morning chickies,

Off to church this morning and then have to run some errands, return a few things and pick up a few groceries.

Jenikshere- The tickets were reasonably $15 per ticket. You just need to plan ahead and maybe tell the kiddies no toys there. I promised DD2 she could pick out something (a reward for staying on tracking with poppy training for over a month now). Didn't realize how expensive everything was, $10 for cheapest items and of course she picked a wand that was $16, but a promise is a promise and I didn't buy her anything anywhere else. But I saw a lot of smart moms and dads who brought snacks and drinks with them and no toys bought so they were only out the price for tickets and the Show was great!!!!! So I would recommend.

Hope everyone has a nice sunday.
  • Good morning ladies!
We're off to church in a bit, but I wanted to pop in and say hey! Had a good day yesterday, got the house picked up, did some errands, and had a good (but off plan) dinner last night at Black Angus. We'll see how the scale treats me tomorrow for my official weekly weigh in. Today I've got some grocery shopping to do and I'm headed to Lane Bryant to try to use my coupon. But I'm only buying something if I can't live without it.
Off to go wake up dh for church
    Have a good one!
    ENJOY!!!
  • Pearlrose - thanks for the info on the show. In the past, I have brought snacks with us too. The food is so darn expensive at these things, and it is all CRAP!! We sometimes splurge on the toys at the show, but more often we say no because they don't play with them once we get home anyway!!
I am watching some tickets on eBay. Hoping to catch a deal. By the time we buy 4 tickets, the parking and the gas to drive 1 hour+ to the show, we have dropped too much money!! :-)
DD LOVES Minnie Mouse though!! So, once I see those smiles, it is all worth it!

Question to those who have been on SB for a while. Is exhaustion normal during phase 1? I can't take it anymore. I was fighting a cold this week too, so I was thinking that was the reason, but I am completely exhausted, and my cold should have gone away by now. My entire body hurts, I barely have the energy to do the necessary things, let alone exercise. I managed to get some workouts in this week, but I had a hard time even finishing them. Am I doing something wrong with my food choices? I thought I was OP, staying away from all non Ph1 foods. Then last night, DH said, I'm worried about you, you are so low on energy. He told me to take a nap(OK, has to be bad!), and I put him in charge of dinner. I didn't care what he did because I had no energy. He ended up ordering pizza, I went OP and had a few pieces, and a while later, I was flying high! So much energy, felt great!! What gives??

  • Our Entertainment book has a coupon for 50% off the admission of up to 8 people for Disney on Ice. I would assume that this offer would be available in most other Entertainment books as well.

I just checked the availability of tickets in our area....the closest show is in Houston.

If anybody wants the coupon, let me know. I'll send it out. Would be a significant savings for a family.
  • Zeff - is there any fine print? Like weekday shows only? Certain times?? IS there a code so you can buy tickets online?

The shows in our area are next weekend. Not sure if we would have time!
  • Jenski - You're right, there is some fine print. Sorry. The coupon is only valid for monday-thursday shows and Friday matinee.

They can be purchased online, but you would need my code from my entertainment card....just PM for details.
