Another beautiful day here.
so today, dd as in dear dad volunteered to take my car in for a brake job, and I am going to take him up on it. I have been squealing all over the place although DH assured me before he left that I wouldn't need one until he got back. Dad thinks the garage will take advantage of me and try to talk me into unnecessary calipers. So funny, I don't think he will ever realize that I am 45YO and mechanical things are not over my head and I don't let people take advantage of me. Well it still makes him happy to take care of us and it helps me out to not have to take the morning off and drag the kids along, although I feel a little guilty.
Otherwise should be pretty quiet around here.

Nessa, calorie counting and SBD are totally compatible, I have done them together before, I think it does help if you are at a stall. Are you still Becking too? I think we can allow you to go hang out with the calorie counters if you want, as long as you don't forget about us! I hang out in the 100 lb club as well as SBD because not everybody here has as much to lose as I do and I get some good info and support up there too.
zeff, did you have the birthday dinner last night or were you cooking for tonight? How did it go?

Recently I had my car in, and they told me 600 for different things, I told them I'd call right back. I was having lunch with a friend of mine so when i called the shop and said "Ziggie says it doesn't need this" they said "Ziggie from Peko?" I said yes, their tone changed, and I got it all done for 499~! GGRRR

Wow, busy morning! No time for personals today, sadly. :( Hope all is going well, though. :)

In the excitement file, we've had a couple of visitations from bats in our house lately (nope, not the belfry...). I LOVE bats...I think they are wonderful! But my husband isn't so thrilled...and he's worried about our dog, which I can understand, though I know most bats don't have rabies. Anyways, when the first one showed up, Friday night, we helped him find the door out and it was no big deal (though I was excited to see him...so cute!). Another one showed up last night while I was in the shower, so DH was stuck dealing with it on his own and wasn't so thrilled. I came downstairs to find every single light on and DH running around, muttering, looking for where it might have come in. We can't figure it out--our chimney is completely sealed up (we get bad drafts in the winter), there aren't any obvious places, and it's driving DH crazy. Poor guy! Anyways, I'm going to Theology on Tap tonight alone so DH can stay home and try to seal up the two possible places they might be getting in (even though we're both pretty sure they aren't using either). Oh well...maybe that means DH will make dinner, too? :s:

Loriann, does your pup make a big puddle when he goes after you take him out? He may be marking his territory if it's a small dribble. Is he fixed? Unfixed males are notorious for marking like crazy. Our pup goes in her crate and we've gone through tons trying to figure it out. She had crystals in her urine, which we fixed, we tried meds for incontinence and that didn't help, so now we have a referral to a behavior vet up in Ithaca. I'll let you know if we find something out.

Good morning all! I cannot believe that I am already half way through my 3 weeks off. It's just flown by!!!
No time for personals today as I'm headed out soon to watch my friends two little girls while she preps her classroom. These girls are so cute, I go over every once in a while and cook dinner for their mom and I, and they LOVE to cook with me. So when I was talking with their mom to confirm coming over the older one asked to speak to me and got on the phone and promptly asked when I was coming over so we could cook. SO FUN!!! So we're going to make cranberry orange scones and chocolate chip cookies.
My day of pampering was a lot of fun. The girl did a really good job with my hair. It's nice to feel all clean and fresh. And we had a great time at the party with our friends.

I'm sooooooo late today but I have a good reason. Morning girls and Matt! Whoa, that was weird, it just posted my first 2 sentences and I wasn't done yet. Strange.....

So I worked 9-4:45 yesterday and got the call at 5:15 that neither of my closers had showed up, one of which disconnected their phone, the other wouldn't answer. So I went back to work and closed by myself, working 6:15-11:30 last night. Thus, why I'm late. I ate dinner at 11:45 last night and then went to bed. My legs hurt so bad from being on my feet all day that I didn't fall asleep right away. Got up near 9 today. Holy cow!

So now I have to go in at 1 for interviews instead of opening today, thank God. I hired one girl last night on the spot, and have two interviews today and will pick the better candidate. I'm so tired of this. I lost 3 people in the last week, one of which is ok because he went back to school, but the other two..... that's just shady.

Little Guy has a dentist appointment today, first one. This should be interesting. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!

Well, I guess I should get some breakfast and do something with myself before I have to work. Hope everyone has a good day!

I've made a really, really yummy cherry almond scone that's SBD safe. I even served it at a party I had earlier this year and people really liked them, even though they were SF/WW! :T

I have had zero success with making scones...they don't rise at all or something. Do you have a trick, hmac or beachgal?
