OK, I know we are suppose to do this right, but I have tried 1/2 & 1/2, I've tried soy milk, but nothing beats Creamora when it comes to coffee... so I made the decision that I'm gonna fully enjoy my coffee.
Did you make a conscious decision to hold onto one of your favorite "sins"? If so, is it effecting your goals of the diet?
I must confess that I indulge in a bit of butter every so often. I have a supply of those small plastic thingies left over from the syrup festival and throw one onto my veggies every so often. They are a "pat" of butter and only 36 calories and 4 fat grams. I figure it's worth the sin if it makes me eat my veggies.
I love licking the spoon and extra little remainders of cookie dough when I make cookies =] But I definitely have learned that it is not a smart idea to bake cookies often at all!
I never gave up Chinese food at my favorite restaurant, except during P1. I only eat spicy not sweetened sauces but I know they have some cornstarch. I always said I would give it up if it caused me problems but it never did. Sadly the food isn't as good as it used to be so I've hardly been there the last 4 months or so. I'm also eating the occasional ear of corn now that the local stuff is available. No more corn dinners ( a former favorite since I was little) but an ear or two are allowed as long as I don't have other starches with dinner.
Bagels with cream cheese. I have them once or twice a week. I eat a different kind of bagel now (whole grain), and light cream cheese - but the concept is the same
Butter and ketchup. I also have a piece of very dark chocolate most days (like one of the Dove Minis, but a 85% cocoa). I have found that it hasn't affected my loss. I also allow myself to cheat for things like potlucks and family nights which occur no more than twice a month. Eat as best I can for those, but I don't feel guilty if I have to stray from plan. I stay on plan the rest of the time, and I believe in balance over time.
Now that we're deep into summer, I confess to enjoying fresh corn-on-the-cob occasionally, but I do put ICBINB spray on it instead of butter. And I really enjoy icy cold watermelon on a hot muggy day.
There's no way I can limit my coffee to two miserly cups a day, either. Most mornings I drink about 1/2 a pot.
We kept creamer and ketchup, too, and fresh fruit has been hard to pass up lately. My mom sent us a Harry and David's pears/cherries gift box, and, well, we're trying to be good, but those pears are so good!
You had to mention corn on the cob! The local stuff isn't ready yet around here - late this year - but I certainly intend to "sin" with that a couple of times.
