Welcome to all the Newbies...
Starting day 3 today. So far so good. Not feeling to badly hope I don't get a headace today.
Really want to jump on the scales but trying to avoid them. With TOM just days away and already having crampings and bloating and a achy lower back I really don't want to be disappointed. Today need to get more veggies in. Have a great day chicks and keep up the good work.
Heres to looking great in 2008 ( I stole that phrase )

Good morning chicks, Day 3 down and on to Day 4. I think I feel better this morning, but it's still a little early to tell. More cawfee, please! I really want some taco bake for breakfast. Is that wrong? There's two portions left, so that would mean I could have it for breakfast AND lunch and DH will just have to find something else! He had three portions last night to my one, so I think I'm due! Last night was rough, I really wanted some of that chocolate. But DD saved me, she had a top to return to Kohl's, and by the time we got back, it was bedtime and I was okay. Plus, looking at all the clothes was a good reminder that I don't want to end up back where I started! By the way, they are having a killer sale. The Vera Wang top I got her for Christmas, that was $40, is now $8, so she was able to get a bunch of stuff.
cottage, I eat beans every day and drink a latte and usually a cocoa too, with milk in my morning coffee, and I didn't ever feel bad the first time through Ph1, but I sure did yesterday!
sunflower, that's where I get my agave nectar too. I looked at it on Amazon, but it wasn't much cheaper than the health food store.
Mellie and 38! Definitely read the book and the FAQs and stickies here. And experiment, experiment, experiment! Try lots of different recipes (I've gotten some great ones here), and foods you've never tried. What about deviled eggs for breakfast? I do that all the time. The taco bake is in the Ph1 entrees along with lots of other great ideas. The things I keep around as staples include - natural peanut butter, all kinds of nuts, Fage Greek yogurt, fudgesicles, turkey bacon and sausage, Laughing Cow Light Cheese, canned beans of all kinds, canned tuna in water, string cheese, lots of frozen and fresh veggies!
Hi cinderly and gonnabe!
Ooh, cottage, you get the chicken divan tonight, you lucky girl! It's divine! I've got it planned for the end of Ph1, as my reward.
Hi lc, glad you are feeling better. Definitely stay away from that evil scale for now. How about feeling great in 2008?

Here's my day:
B - Taco Bake, V8, coffee
S - hardboiled egg
L - Taco Bake, salad
S - latte, pb and celery
D - ????
S - fudgesicle

Tonight is pizza night at grandma's and I'd planned to make an eggplant pizza for me, but I accidentally used my eggplants earlier this week, so I'll have to come up with something else.

Good morning all,
I seem to be dragging a bit this morning. I could be because I didn't make it to bed on time last night? I wish my body alarm would let me sleep in sometimes. The day has started off well, I have gotten the walk in and dishes started. I have dinner planned and that is about it. Grilled pork loin chops with potatoes for the family and zucchini for me. I didn't have eggs yesterday so I will probably have them for breakfast and left over dinner for lunch. Day 4 I should have planned better. Next week it is back to life so by Sunday I will have to be planned for the week. Off to get a cup of cocoa.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

So I have a question about phase one weight loss. I'm on day three and I couldn't help but jump on the scale this morning. I am down 3lbs. Is it normal to lose weight that quickly, or could this just be water weight loss?

Where is the recipe for this feta/spinach quiche I keep reading about? It sounds wonderful - I love feta.

I'm also going to try making a "cheesecake" recipe I found in the non-egg breakfast thread. Might be a good change from the eggs!

I'm at home with the kiddos today so I'll post my food log at the end of the night.

Thanks again everyone!

Mellie, it's likely at least some of that weight is water, but it's still weight, right? Lots of people lose a bunch on Ph1. I "only" lost 5 lbs during Ph1, but it depends on what you were eating before, how much you have to lose, etc. At any rate, it's always a big boost to see those numbers go down. Just remember things will probably even out and you'll settle into a steady rate of loss. Anyway, congrats!
By the way, the breakfast cheesecake is wonderful! thanks for the reminder, I may make that for next week.
Good morning to you, phx!

Hi, I just started today! Phase 1 Day 1 for me! So far, so good, although it is still early here I am nervous that I am not going to be able to do this, but I have put some thought and planning into it, so I hope that helps.

Lucky me, I get to bake and frost several dozen sugar cookies this afternoon- yikes! I agreed a while back to make them for a bake sale, so I need to do it. Nothing like breaking in the SB will power!

Hi,
Thanks for the welcoming posts! I will check out the sticky notes and jot down some recipes before I go to the store for the big SB shopping trip. I hope I can continue to eat some of my regular meals: roast (skip the potatoes & carrots), fajitas with no tortillas, and pesto chicken. I can have whipping cream or half n half, can't I?

I think it will be helpful to post a 'food confession' each day to make me accountable. I'm looking forward to it!

You know what else is hard? Feeding your son frosted animal cookies in the backseat of the car and having the delicious smell waft up into your nose. I was pretty much drooling into the package, but I felt so great that I didn't give into my desire!! You will too!

Day four here, been doing good so far, but I am hungry today but I only had some cottage cheese and v8 for breakfast and some celery and llc for snack. I am afraid to get on the scale because TOM is coming so I think I will wait a few days so I do not get disappointed when I get on.

Day 4 here, headache is finally gone now. It started day 1 in the late afternoon and worsened day 2, lingered day 3 with some parts of the day with bad H/A and other parts of the day with tolerable H/A, even into last night. I am a "headachy" person anyway, so once I get one, it usually hits me hard.
Day 3 went well. nothing exciting on the menu, just leftovers of the spinach souffle stuffed chicken and salad at dinner.
Day 4- I just had a big salad-loads of veggys, a bit of cheese, 1 boiled egg and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds. We are going to try the taco bake recipe tonight, DH wants beef tonight and we both love Mexican food. He is from San Antonio and thinks salsa or pico makes everything better!
I'm headed to the recipe section to print off a few recipes.
Thanks to everyone for sharing their menus. It gives us new options to try.
Have a great day everyone!
Karla

I made the Taco Bake for the first time last night for dinner and it was great- just had some tortillas for the rest of the family, but I loved it- just took out stuff I don't like from the recipe but it still tasted great.
