RISE & SHINE!
Good morning, did I wake you all up? Jake made the coffee strong today, and it's kicking in fast.

Isn't this weather something else? We slept with the windows wide open, and it's 70* right now. The weatherman keeps saying the temps are going to get cooler, but today were going to be in the 80s again.
I have to return some costumes to the Halloween store this morning. I picked up several yesterday for Maggie to choose from, and she picked out a cute Pixie Fairy. I'm going to jazz it up for her with some sparkly glitter and ribbons, and we're decorating an old pair of ballet shoes to match. Audrey wants to be a black cat this year, and her costume was easy. Cindy bought her a black sweatsuit that we just attached a tail to, and we found her a headband with cat ears. They both have a parade and parties at school on Friday. At least I don't have to worry about Carley and Amber's costumes, Amber is going to be Hannah Montana and Carley is wearing Maggie's Snow White costume from a few years ago.

Barb, I hope Brian is feeling better today. How's your DH doing?

I only have to work 12-5 today. I didn't get home until 9 last night, and that's late for me.

Cottage, sounds like lovely weather! And those costumes all sound adorable...lucky trick or treaters!

It stormed something fierce here yesterday and last night. We were under tornado warnings and many parts of New Orleans flooded yesterday. The news showed businesses that had just reopened since Katrina and then they were flooded again. terrible.

It is chilly here this morning...sweater weather! So I thought it would be a good day for chili. My favorite chili is the kind made with Tabasco jarred sauce. I just looked up the nutrition info before I went to pick some up on the way home from work and it has sugars listed as 5, but no added sugar in the ingrediants. Am I correct in assuming those sugars just come from the tomotoes and peppers? I REALLY want some but will not if I shouldn't.

Cat, I think the sugars in that sauce are from the tomatoes and peppers, go ahead and enjoy it. I haven't thought about supper yet, I'll work on that after I get back from Curves. That's awful about the flooding, what a shame! I've been watching the news about the devastating fires in California, too. It's so sad.

Hey all! We're back on line!!! Evidently, the computer's hard drive went and that's why it wouldn't boot up. Tom is disappointed that $50 fixed everything...he really wanted to get a new computer. People shouldn't have to buy new computers every two years, though. That's a big budget killer.

Things are a bit rocky over here, diet-wise. We went away this past weekend and had a great hiking trip, but I did not make such wonderful food choices. Actually, aside from the M&Ms in the trail mix I had, the food choices themselves weren't awful, but I just ate a ton. It's frustrating. I should be able to do better. I reigned myself in and mostly stuck to my plan yesterday and did perfectly today, so here's to staying on track!

Linda, the girls' costumes sound lovely! I'm not a big fan of Halloween myself, but I'm sure you guys will have a blast!

Cat, I'm so sorry to hear about your rotten weather.

My laundry is about to finish and I have a LOT of catching up to do on the board, so I will end here.

Good morning chicks,
It's a gray, drizzly day here. At least it mostly has held off until we got the kids walked to school. I'm not complaining, we need the rain, and we've had lots of gorgeous days lately, but it just makes me want to crawl back into bed with a book. Plus I didn't sleep well last night for some unknown reason. It's not like me, I usually sleep like a rock.

Cat
, I saw all the flooding in NO on the news this morning, such a shame. Great minds must think alike, I plan to make some chili and cornbread for dinner. No cornbread for me, of course. Thanks for reminding me to take the hamburger out of the freezer.

cottage,
I think this rain will be moving your way, and there's a cool front following it. Must not be moving too fast though. I'll have to get to work on Halloween costumes this week too, they've moved the town party and parade up to Friday night - I thought I had until next week.

Oh, the chicken divan last night was to die for. I knew it had to be a good recipe with all the rave reviews, but I thought I might have to do some adjustments for us, since DH and I aren't big fans of curry, but with the sauce and broccoli, it was the perfect combination. The kids didn't care for it though. I made a BIG pan full, so we've got lunches for the rest of the week, I think.

Hey, Schmoo! Glad you liked the chicken recipe. Sometimes it's nice to have lunches taken care of. That's the meal that always makes me stand in front of the fridge scratching my head.

Good Morning Everyone!
With DH gone off to school, I hardly ever get to post. Everyone seems to be off to a great day. The weather here in GA is horrible too. It has been raining on and off for two days. Considering that we're in the middle of a massive drought, the rain is welcome. The heat is unbearable though, so much for fall.

I am restarting Ph 1 today, I'm having way too many cravings. Apparently, whole wheat pasta is my enemy. I tried it for the first time since starting Ph 2 and my goodness do I want to eat every starch in sight. I think I might just do Ph 1 for a week though. Usually carb cravings disappear in 3-4 days, so, I think a week will be fine.

Everyone and good luck staying OP today.

Good luck with kicking the cravings, Pohai! (Did I spell your name right? I'm having a panic that I didn't.) Do you get to talk with your husband much? How are the kids doing?

Morning all! (Almost afternoon!)

It's pretty chilly here still. No time for personals today, lots of paperwork to catch up with after being in the field so much. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Just a quick fly-thru to say hi! For those of you who want chili, I made a huge pot of the Wendy's chili recipe last night, there plenty left over if you want some.

Good morning ladies! Brrrrrrr I don't even drink coffee and I'm contemplating it because it's so chilly! It's really not that bad, I just hate cool weather. Woke up several times during the night either freezing, or sweating to death because I covered up and my body can't figure out how to kick the covers off if I'm sleeping.

Cottage, congrats on having awesome weather still! And those costumes sound really neat!

Cat, you're making my mouth water. Once I eat up the tortellini en brodo that I made last night, I'm going to start making chili! Tis the season....

Kara, glad to hear that it was a cheap fix! And nice to have you back!

Schmoodle, sorry you didn't sleep well either. Hopefully tonight we'll both sleep like rocks again!

Browneyedgirl, I'll take unbearable heat any day! It's 50 right now with a high of 59 today. At least the sun's out. I have an outdoor Halloween party to go to Saturday and it's a high of 59, low of 40, and Halloween costumes aren't typically real warm. Brrrr.

Hi Kim! Sending you a sweater.

Heya Dixie! Enjoy that chili. Mmmmmmmmm.

What a wild day. I'm hoping that the day flies by. I'm shivering in my office. It's always cool at the back of the store and warm at the front where the sun shines in. Also hoping that the sun warms up my apartment today. I did finally turn the heat on with the lows in the lower-40's, but I have it set at 65 and it hasn't kicked on yet. That's fine by me. I'll let the sun and other apartments keep me warm and save me money!

Better get a move on here at work. Hope you girlies have a great day!

Brian is feeling better today. He fell asleep on the couch and refused to move to his bed so I left him there last night. This morning he was feeling better and had no fever. We'll have to see if he is up to school tomorrow but he's turned the corner at least.

DH is doing quite well. He still has one more week of IV antibiotics but the rash is gone. We'll have to see if he is up to coming on the next camping trip on 11/3. It will be the last camping trip as a Cub Scout so I know he wants to come.

It's really cold here. We got lots of heavy rain yesterday and it was 45 this morning! Too cold for Dallas. It looks like the forecast doesn't show it getting much warmer for the next 10 days. I guess fall is here with a vengeance. Mother Nature must know that the pool should be dug very soon.

Hey chicks sorry I have not been around... the last two weeks I have been fighting off some bug... if I could just be sick to my stomach I am sure I would feel better. I feel good for a day or two then I am down and out again. Today I am feeling horrible once again.

LC, I hope you get to feeling better! There is something awful going around down here. Brother had the upchucks for 2 days, then a week later I had the both-ends-flu for 24 hours, friend Molly and her hubby had the upchucks for 3 days, and my mom has had the poops for 2 weeks and has had to go to the lab and stuff for it. Hopefully you're on the mend and will feel fantastic tomorrow!

Time for everyone to start taking echinacea and Airborne! AH, fall....
