  • Good morning everybody

    Kiko

Little Chick: my TOPS meetings are on Tuesday evenings. I like being accountable face-to-face.

Sand: Hope you are all better real soon.

Ruth: We make a lot of pesto at the restaurant. It is good stuff. We have an organic farmer near here and we buy it fresh from him then begin the process and freeze it then put the oil in when we take it out of the freezer. Works really well. Have a good day.

charolastra00: Sounds like a fun weekend. We have some beautiful falls in Oregon that require a hike into.

    Cottage: Want to trade days????

Pacergal29: All I can say is pace yourself Okay so that was a bad pun. It is good your boss has so much confidence in your ability to get the job done but boy oh boy am I glad I don't have your job right now. Good luck.

Kim: Sorry about your morning Money issues can be really hard. Good luck with the bloodwork and meds.

KO: Good luck with the resumes, hope you find something before you need to quit that job. Hating your work is horrible, I have been there. It makes your entire life out of wack. Great job on passing up those goodies.

Dixie: Sorry about your garden. My DH wants to put in raised beds for some of his garden next year. It's a lot of work but so worth it. Enjoy the chili peppers though. So you dry them?

Missmess: Hope your meetings go well today.

Liannie: I am so a rain person. I know some people love summer but I prefer it cooler. Like you said time for all those good soups now. Normally I like them with fresh bread but I am on PI and just started yesterday so not for a while for me.

Me: I got a call for an interview tomorrow on the first resume I sent out. Local hospital working in admissions. We will see how it goes. Hope it doesn't start until after I sell the restaurant (we are working on the final stages now.) My DH is retired as soon as we get rid of the restaurant but I am so not ready to do that. I want to work for a few more years. I also want to find a job with benefits as we pay for our own insurance now so that would be a $600 raise to our household income. Today is work then home for a while then my TOPS meeting. I think the scale will be nice to me.

    to all.
  • Hi everyone - I just thought I'd check in. I've been totally off plan today - I've been so depressed! I had the radio on in the car this morning, and they were playing actual phone calls/messages, replaying the "live" coverage etc from Ground Zero. I was balling my eyes out in the car.

So, unfortunately, it's been a bad day for me. I've been trying to drink lots of water, but I had a baked potato with salsa for lunch, a pretzel stick, and a small bag of Doritos.

Hope everyone has had a better day than I.
  • Mare it's ok it's a hard day!
I actually forgot it was 911 till the radio announcer said it then I started to cry. I'm glad I didn't listen to regular radio this morning! I probably would have dove into a vat of pretzels be strong tomorrow is a new day!
  • Holy crap, always late....

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIKO!
  • Aww Mare *hug* Yeah, I actually skipped class because I was crying so hard from Oprah's Children of 9/11 special. Since I go to a school where the vast majority of students are either from Boston or NYC, I know quite a few people who lost a parent, grandparent, aunts, uncles, cousins, and any mixture of the above- including a few orphans. It's always a hard day here. Thankfully we have an extra long weekend because of Rosh Hashana starting tomorrow night, so many of the students affected went home last weekend and didn't come back... and many classes today were canceled because its obviously a really trying day for the vast majority of students here. Also, Brandeis is a target in that it's a Jewish school near a large city, so that makes everyone else a little uneasy.

MSNBC was showing all morning the footage from the attacks as if it was that day and that about killed me. Plus I watched a special on the Blitz which the German airbombers did even worse than any terrorist ever could hope to do and spent the whole 2 hours of the special in tears. :P
