All this talk of popcorn...

  • ...has me thinking.

    I'm not a huge fan of substitutions. For example, the black bean brownies. Would have liked them had I thought of them as black bean brownies. Did not care for them in "place of" regular brownies.

    So if there's nothing as satisfying as the "no-no option", I'd rather just skip it than "settling".

    BUT, what do you eat in place of traditional buttered popcorn? I love air popped popcorn with melted butter on it. Not a lot, but I love that real butter taste. Anybody have a healthier alternative that still has that butter taste?

    I do NOT like microwave popcorn. It tastes artificial to me. I hate artificial. That's why I don't eat many packaged foods at all.

  • Well, I personally hate popcorn (gets stuck in my throat! ouch!), but love buttery tasting things. For me, I spritz some ICBINB on my roasted chickpeas before I cook them and that keeps the buttery flavor without adding too many calories.

    Honestly, I don't want the butter! Just the taste! :P

    These are yummy! I found them a few months back and eat these at night when i get alil hungry!

  • I've just discovered Genisoy Soy Crisps. They come in several different flavors, and one serving of 17 of them has 110 calories. They're delicious, and really satisfy that craving for a savory snack.
  • My salty snack is usually Stacey's Simply Naked Pita Chips with either bruschetta or laughing cow.
