Miss Mess- I was DEVASTATED when she killed of Sirius! I didn't even shed a tear when she killed Dumbledore but I had red, swollen eyes for days after I read that Sirius died. He was my favorite character :( I'm all pouty now, haha!
I should probably go reserve my copy... I'm trying to decide which bookstore. |
The movie was amazing... I'm too tired to think right now but I loved it.
|
Cool, RocknRoll! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for checking in. I'm not seeing it until tomorrow and I can't wait.
|
I've never read any of the HP books, but after hearing you girls go on and on, I'm curious to see what I've been missing. Cindy has all the books, maybe I'll borrow them and go on a "reading holiday" next week while I'm on vacation. :)
|
Adam tried to convince me to go see the midnight movie last night but I have to be at work at 7:30...couldn't do it. We are going tonight though!! Can't wait!!
|
Just an FYI: I didn't end up going at midnight. I ended up realizing (much too late last night) that with my DH and my friend's DH being out of town, we had to get up around 5:30 this morning to care for the horses and move the steers to pasture. Oh well. I'll try and catch it tonight.

I just booked tickets for the Sunday afternoon showing at the IMAX! Hopefully it won't be too scary for Brian to see it that way but he doesn't get scared easy. We're all going together. I wanted to go on Saturday but every show was sold out when I checked yesterday and so were all the shows that we could make on Friday. Sunday will work.

I'm so annoyed :P My boyfriend knows I love HP and he has never read any of the books, but he's going to a sold out show at the IMax with his friends and their girlfriends but didn't invite me >.<
It's all sold out for the next week around here. I thought the movie came out at the same time as the book so I didn't get tickets earlier. Oh well. |
I saw it at midnight last night after having oral surgery that day! DH didn't want me to miss it soooooo gooood!
But we were definitely the oldest non parents! |
I usually wait until the day the book is released and then go to Sam's or Walmart they usually have the book a little cheaper than other places on release day. In regards to the movie OOTP I will probably have to see if by myself I think my little ones might be too frightened. Especially, if it's anything like the book. I can't wait to see it I think I might escape to the movie this weekend. Hopefully, a mommy break day.:
Harry as a horcrux is not a new theory. Dumbledore did say that Voldemort unwillingly transfered some of Voldemort's power to Harry. So maybe along with that part of his soul. One interesting thing is that Voldemort wants to kill Harry and I would think that if Voldemort knew that Harry was a horcrux Voldemort wouldn't be doing that. On the Snape front I totally believe that Snape killed Dumbledore because Snape had a unbreakable vow with Dumbledore. Dumbledore is far too wise and went to bat for Snape too many times to be that easily fooled. Not to mention that Snape had the chance to kill Harry after Snape killed Dumbledore and did not. Snape was also clearly upset about what had happened. Sadly, I believe that JK has no bones about killing both Harry and Voldemort off. Especially, since she has expressed a tremendous dislike of anyone continuing the series. My only hope is that I've heard that she considers Harry to be a son to her and no mother could kill their own child right? Here's to hope. The HP fan sites are great. Anyone curious check them out. I belong to a couple of them.;) (the big kid that I am) I'm glad that everyone re-signed to star in all of the HP films. Idk if I would go see the movies if they changed the main cast. |
I love the fansites too, especially Mugglenet and Leaky Cauldron. And I like JK Rowling's site also. We're going this afternoon and I am so excited!:carrot: Also because I didn't think that it was playing at any of the IMAX theatres in DC or Baltimore, but I just found out it's playing at the one near Dulles Airport at the Udvar-Hazy center. Oh yes, we will go! But today we'll settle for a regular theatre.

The movie was SOOOO good. I hate that they have to cut out subplots (like no Quiddith in this one, hence no "Weasley is our King" plot), but I understand. They did a great job with it.

here is a giant
WARNING!! The first 500 pages of the book have been photocopied and put on the web. This also includes the epilogue. So please be really careful of what harry potter links you click on and what websites you choose to go to. I know the book is very important to a lot of us and this would just ruin it all together! |
I just finished reading the first book, The Scorcerer's Stone, and now I'm eager to dive into the next book! Thanks, everyone, for sparking my interest in Harry Potter. I'm becoming a fan, too!

Cottage, so glad you enjoyed the book. I saw the movie last Thursday with the kids and really enjoyed it. Luna was great, Prof Umbridge was perfectly evil, the only complaint was the compression of the confrontations at the Ministry of Magic. Just all over too quick. But I am one that would be happy to sit through three hours of it, and a movie just can't be as good as a book. I really do want to get to see it at the Imax. That fight scene would be sooo cool in 3D. SO excited for Saturday, we are heading for the beach and I'm on vacation for a week, so Harry will be keeping me company there!
I knew that would happen with all the spoilers on the web. People are so obnoxious. I am not going to go to any HP fansites until after I read it, and if they start talking about it on the news or anyone wants to discuss, I'll put my fingers in my ears and sing! |
